It took me a year to get it off and I have been body sculpting for another year now. I am 5'2". SW 207 CW 11043 -

Just started on July 4th. Starting weight was 189 current weight 178. Cut out almost all carbs and started running. Feel great! Thank you for the motivation ladies!7

5'2" I just started this summer too (August) after several unhappy overweight years. I'm down a few pounds already, but mostly just feeling so much stronger and more energetic from taking control of my eating and working out regularly. Feel free to add me, any of my petite compatriots.6

5'3 here. 34 lbs down since Nov last year (time and lbs are marked in the pics). Not at my GW yet. This is the first time ever that I managed to lose this amount of weight. I'm super excited but also very worried about regaining the weight lost. Anyway... the bottom 2 of the progress pics were taken earlier today post gym workout, in the bathroom of my local community gym so please excuse the not so glamorous background lol!

No I didn't share - not that I don't want to it's just nothing ground breaking - log the food, stay active. No pills no "detox" no "cleanse". I'm approaching 40 and have tried to lose weight for as long as I can remember... If I can do this, despite failed many many times before, you can too!
I can totally relate when you said the on & off. I kept losing and regaining the same 5 lbs or so at the start. Very demoralizing. But once I took a hard look at what I think I ate and what I actually ate, I in fact ate A LOT more than I burn. It was then that I tried to eat at "normal" amount (for a person of my size, age, activity level), not even at a deficit... It was quite uncomfortable in the first couple of weeks as my stomach was so used to feeling full. But after this initial discomfort, I noticed I had a lot less cravings and activities like walking, riding bikes seems easier, these gave me motivation to stick with this life style change.
Please let me reiterate again - I tried to lose weight for the last 10+ years and failed each and every time. Do not give up, keep trying, stay positive, develop some habits/some activities that suit yourself and your lifestyle. Slow and steady wins the race. And not gaining is pretty cool already! I lift 1-2 times per week (one hour each time), ride my bike 2-3 times (this is something I enjoy so they don't feel like exercise). Sorry for writing so much these are some thoughts that I'd like to share with all you awesome people here

@narak_lol Your advice makes a lot of sense. Just eating maintenance is a lot less calories then I eat when I'm not "trying", so not drastically cutting calories in the beginning is smart.1

I am 5 foot 3 and I have never been lighter than 150 pounds since I hit puberty. I don't know what it is like to be thin. After 2 kids, I am now hovering around 167, and I have a hard time believing I will ever succeed at being lighter just because I don't have that "thin" benchmark (high school weight etc) like so many other short girls have. However, I would love to be 125... I can't even imagine it, but that is the dream. The kicker is I've always generally been active-ish. I like hiking, I would even run 20 ish miles a week when I was in college. I also eat generally healthy too... I hate pop, rarely eat fast food, hardly ever buy candy or junk like donuts or sugar cereal. Is there anybody who is like me on this thread... never been really fat, but never been thin, but has also never been successful at losing weight? I was even bulimic at one point during college and I have never, and I repeat, NEVER dipped down into the 140s.2

I'm also 5'2" just turned 40 years old last week. I started December 1st at 225 lbs. Currently 154 lbs.
Using MFP and fitbit.
I want to loose another 15 lbs or so. But I've switched gears and I'm going for a. 5 lb a week or so loss goal. Doing a 1,000 calorie deficit for 9 months is enough and I want to focus more on really being in a rock solid pattern of eating appropriate calories in a day for how much activity I have. I am a stay at home mom of a child with special needs that requires a lot of care. I spend too much time sitting on the couch with her snuggled up sleeping on me.
I average around 15,000 steps a day, doing what I call living room laps. Walking and jogging inside.12 -

Happy Birthday! Your story hit home because I turn 40 in a week and I'm just...ignoring it? I'm not sure what I'm feeling.
No pics and I have a semi success story...42 pounds down. Started at 204, currently at 162. Originally wanted to lose 70 total but right now I'm focusing on getting stronger. 5'2"
I visit this thread every day though, it helps and sometimes I feel like I have such short, stumpy legs! It's SO good to see all of you inspiring ladies! Thank you and congrats to all on your success!5 -

@2013allen I hear you about wanting to get a new set of numbers. I dipped briefly into the 40s before my weight bounced back into the 50s. I'm very active too and consistent weight loss comes down to being very focused for a very long period of time. I took part of in a six week challenge where I committed to not eating out, sticking to my calorie goal, and journaling everyday. The challenge gave me the extra strength to say no to food pushers and myself when I felt out of sorts. I lost 14 pounds during that time and I have managed to keep it off. So don't give up hope. I think I will join another challenge in October. That should help me avoid Halloween candy madness. Good luck!3

I'm a little shorter than 5'2 I tend to hover around the 5' mark but seeing this makes me so happy. I have already lost about 11 lbs and about 3 inches from my waist and another 3 from my hips. It's amazing what such a small amount can do to a short persons body. I am starting off with a weight of 230 or so. I am currently at 219, which is what I weighed in February of this year when I had my check up. I can't wait to see how my body transforms when I lose all the fat. I'm looking to a goal of between 100-130 lbs. which would be about half of what I started off as.6

5"2. I started out 170 lb postpartum and now am 131 lb. moving house to my parents helped as I eat salads for lunch here. Also having a more active lifestyle since I'm not working now (I naturally got a lot of steps at work). If I fill up on fruit, eggs, tuna and veggies and walk 10000 steps a day, the weight comes off. Happy with all of my body now except my tummy. Partly I think coz I stress a lot and have cortisol buildup there. So far losing weight and exercise (mostly walking) has helped my stomach to decrease. My aim is to bee 125-128 lb.4
