No one tells you that you may actually find yourself shrinking your clothes in the laundry ON PURPOSE to pare them down to your new size. I've done this with my jeans and my cotton tops. Sometimes they shrink enough that I don't have to acquire replacements, which is awesome because I really HATE shopping.31

A great way to give yourself a gentle boost about your weight loss - go to a store and pick up something that's the equivalent of the pounds you've dropped.
Carry it around the store for about ten minutes. Then put it back and walk through the store again.

Absolutely THIS! I'm in my 60's but my husband says it's like living with a 'giddy 30 year old again'. I'll take the compliment!12 -
Others have said it, but it bears repeating. I've lost 43 lbs. I am constantly hungry. Even if I binge (which I do, on occasion), I become hungry again almost instantly. I've been trying to shrink my stomach with smaller meals, and that's helped, but realistically...I'm probably going to be at least mildly hungry for the rest of my life. Just one of the prices we pay.
I felt this way when I first started losing weight but over time, I figured out that I wasn't really 'hungry' anymore. I just wasn't 'over-full' like I used to be. The feeling of being satisfied (full) and stuffed (over-full) is really quite different. I no longer feel comfortable with being stuffed anymore.17 -

I agree that this is a fun thing to do, and I used to do it. However, at 84 pounds down, I've decided that it may not be the best thing for my back.35 -

I've done this at the gym. I'm lifting with the amount, now a little over, of what I've lost. The first time I squatted with that weight, I just stood there for about thirty seconds and thought about it. It was hard to stand up straight. It's a great reinforcement.
And if people haven't seen it, search "I've lost an elephant's penis" here in the forums. It gives you a list of interesting items corresponding to different weights. I was so proud when I could claim that distinction.11 -

I think that my local supermarket would complain if I left my 16-year old teenager there (they might also complain if I tried to carry her around - not that I can actually carry her around, I can't even lift her up!)27 -
This is my new favorite thread! I have laughed, smiled, and grimaced as I read page after page. Here are mine:
Clasping my hands together and feeling the bones in my fingers (weirdly this is the first place I notice weight loss lol)
Shopping with friends thinking I won't be able to buy anything at this store because it won't fit only to realize that it actually does fit...and not just in an XL...in a Large!
My shoes don't fit anymore.
Despite my bf not being on a diet and bringing food into the house that I don't regularly eat that I can still make good choices....and occasionally eat what he brings in the house and still be okay :-) - meaning: I'm in control!

I can take my button up shirt off without unbuttoning it. Some of my shirts just fall off my shoulders. I lost 70 lbs. It's about time to buy new clothes23

Looking at my body in the mirror without avoidance.
Having a treat meal and realising that it's actually the opposite and it makes me feel shite.
Having more confidence in the bedroom after so many years of body hatred.
Being mindful that we don't need nearly as much food as we think we do.
Being grateful that I'm alive and healthy

That the more I lose the more I realize I have more to lose. After I loss 100# my WW Mtg Ldr said "Don't you quit!" She had seen others reach a milestone only to stop. I stayed on plan "sorta" and only lost 16# on 2015. Now in first 32 weeks in 2016 I have lost 32# and have lost 140#. Now I realize I want to lose 50 more pounds. Started @ 376 in 2013 at age 65, now @236 and enjoying the journey.54

^^^this, this, a thousand times this! I don't have a dishwasher and some days I swear if I have to wash one more 2 ounce container....grrr.
Also, the amount of containers I have to store!

I've lost 82 lbs, with 13 to go. Very recently, when I got into the "less than 20 to go" phase, have I really started to feel different about myself and life. I notice:
- I was so sad before, so not alive. Just existing. Previously it seems 100% of my energy was spent feeling ashamed, embarrassed, unworthy. Now I feel FREE and ALIVE.
- Today, when I was getting off the train, the conductor gave me his hand / arm to help me down. No one has ever done anything like that for me before. People are nicer to me, which in a way actually makes me sad rather than happy. I guess it's a little like mourning a past way of being, all those years of living like that, and I really get it was tough as I move into a new kind of life.
- I am not just proud of myself, but love myself. This may seem weird, but I look down and now see a little pot belly and it honestly makes me smile. I think it's cute. I'm working it off and want to get rid of it ASAP -- believe me! -- but it's cute. I feel cute; I feel normal and love myself.
- Someone called me "tiny" the other day, and my brain just really isn't caught up with what is actually going on with my body.
- Since I was a child, I have thought about weight, calories, dieting -- some day I will "get there"! It is unbelievable to me that I am almost there and that my brain will never be having these kinds of conversations again. I'll be fit, maintaining ... but not in a "someday" conversation. I cannot imagine what it will be like to NOT have this concern.
- I'm 46 yrs old ... Life is pretty awesome!

You won't lose weight symmetrically. My right side is more toned and smaller than my left, even though my work outs are equal.10

Finding out I can get to love frozen dinners and some are not too bad just to make sure I am counting the right amount of calories to log.12

Don't "save the best thing til last" on your plate! This will make you rush the rest to get to the good bit!
Instead take small amounts of each thing in a circuit20 -
That you could get to the point that you can have food (ie Chocolate) in the house and not eat it or even think about eating it.23

What I love is...
- looking and feeling younger
- having to buy a whole new wardrobe
- being able to do the active things I love do to like skiing
- having more energy
- healthier skin and hair
- off all meds
- being an example to my family, friends and community
- helping others do the same26 -

Not necessarily, I've lost 95 pounds over a 3 year period and have tons of loose skin. I think genetics, how long one is overweight and numerous other factors determine how one's skin will react to weight loss.27
