I used to lie down on my bed and use my computer, and I can't do that for too long now, since my ribs start to hurt.
I'm not even near thin or normal weight yet and my body isn't used it this.9 -

That's awesome for you I'm a little jealous! I've gone the opposite way though, my poor boyfriend. Maybe I'm just super focused on other stuff but the thought barely comes into my head these days! Anyone else experience this? (if it's not TMI for everyone)
I feel the same way most of the time. I think for me it's I am terrified of getting pregnant. I mean I am busting my *kitten* to lose this weight. I already have four children and know I am fertile and weight loss is a sure fire way to up the chances of pregnancy.
I've gone the "let's do it like bunnies" rout. My husband, who is not trying to lose weight, has gone the other way. I thought after an 80lb drop he'd be more than happy to get it on. I was mistaken. Super-frustrating.13 -

This really made me laugh! I have 3 cats, one of them is generally uninterested, but the other 2, well the second I pick up weights they are frolicking around my legs like they want to do them with me. The only way to get rid of them sometimes is to go on the treadmill. This is still the machine of fear for them, they sit from a safe distance with a look of disapproval on their faces. It is like they are saying ''What is this witchcraft!? Her legs are moving and she goes NOWHERE!!!''
My Basset Hound will get on the treadmill with me. He will come and sit by it while staring at me. I'll slow it down and he'll hop on for about a minute and jump off. He'll do this 2-3 times whenever I'm on it. My shepherd mix wants nothing to do with it.21 -
That parts of my body would get "boney" (I'm looking at you, clavicles!) way before my stomach would get anywhere near where I want it to be.
I look at my upper half and think "I think I'll switch to maintainance now". Then I look at my stomach. Yeah, nope.35 -

Yes! This is me. I run my hands over my shoulders, clavicles, upper back and feel all the bones. My forearms look too thin, but go lower and I'm still not reading the "maintaining weight" section of these forums9 -

That your body will be different than the last time you were at that weight. Two kids later and gaining extra weight makes my body sooo different than it was last time I was this weight. And I've only lost 43 pounds with many to go!! My body is going to be sooo different and it's kind of hard to accept but the most important part is that I'm starting to FEEL better.13

I just started this journey July 5th but have lost 8.4 pounds so far. A couple weeks in we went to a water park. My swimsuit felt about the same. Put it back on a couple weeks later for the pool and felt a noticeable difference!!! That was a happy moment!!!
Still a long ways to go but that was a nice victory to have that day22 -

Am with you both. Upper body says "OK, enough." Lower body says "Keep going!"7 -
+Significantly reducing your sugar/carb intake to align better with your nutrient goals helps you break harmful addictions to bad food. It's VERY hard at first, but after you (figuratively) slap the $#!+ out of yourself and get a grip on your actions, you can walk past the pastry and cookie buffet they have at the office without your knees buckling or clawing out your eyes. Breaking addictions feels very good and gives you back control over your thoughts. Otherwise, while you're addicted, all you ever think about are the foods you're craving and when you'll eat them next.

+I also have been going to CrossFit. I'd never really cared about toning/defining/developing muscles before, I had always been focused on making sure I was a size 4 and that my scale read 120 pounds. Nowadays, I've discovered that, while I have gained weight from absentminded eating habits (my bad!), my involvement in CrossFit has given me a whole new appreciation and desire to build muscle and become stronger. Actually I've recently seen a study that showed that the cholesterol in eggs was unrelated to the amount of bad cholesterol in humans. If your husband doesn't have high cholesterol, then I'm not sure if eating a couple of eggs a week is harmful. However, I'm not a doctor and don't have high cholesterol, just wanted to put it out there

I'm almost there after losing 80 pounds....only another 10 or so to go.
Like other people have said, I was always the person in a tank top in the middle of winter but now i'm always cold.
After hiding from cameras for 25 years I now LOVE getting my picture taken! Vain or what???
I met up with an old friend yesterday that I hadn't seen for several years and she looked right through me...didn't recognize me tilI spoke to her.
People treat me differently when I walk into stores and restaurants. It's like I get more respect. Is it me that carries myself differently? Not sure.
I have a "frenemy" who is about 100 pounds overweight and she has not said ONE word to me about my weight loss. Recently I posted before and after pictures on Facebook and had dozens of positive comments so she finally had to acknowledge my hard work (or look like the jealous person that she really was). I decided that I don't have time for people like that in my life anymore. I guess it's kind of like a reformed alcoholic who can't hang out with their old buddies anymore. If other people want to come along for the ride, that's awesome. If they don't, then i'll meet them for coffee but I just cant participate in their eating fests anymore. I have to do what's healthy for ME!! The old way just didn't work. I am so done with unhealthy and unhappy and love this new chapter in my life41 -

My favorite junk foods don't taste the same and I don't get that mental statisfaction. It made me ponder my emotional habits which I'm currently exploring and monitoring

Because our clothing doesn't have to stretch around fat, it does hang longer. Expect to hem a lot of pants, skirts and sleeves, or to develop a great relationship with a tailor. I sew thin fabric hems while watching TV.14 -
+ That it can be an emotional roller-coaster. Some days you are happy with yourself and other days you get upset because you ate too much or you don't look right or you haven't lost any weight this week, etc. Learn to ride the roller-coaster and don't get off.

As others have said, your confidence will sore and you will start feeling better and better about yourself.
One guy mentioned how good it felt when you go down a belt loop, that's the BEST feeling.
I've went from a 3XL-4XL to XL in shirts and from a 46 to 36-38 in pants and it's awesome being able to find clothes ANYWHERE but buying all new clothes aren't cheap especially when you have so many more choices now.
Also, you don't realize how crappy you felt until you don't feel it anymore, I used to be tired all the time and now, I feel like going and doing things. I used to get tired mowing the yard, now I don't even lose my breathe. It's nice.19 -

I'm one of these people in the gym who is overweight and struggling with my exercise. My face is as red as a beetroot and I feel like I do not belong there at all. I feel alien.
Please, come up to me, tell me you think I'm doing a great job. It will boost my spirits and I'll feel a little like I belong there, that I can do this, that people are accepting. It's not patronising. Not to me, anyway.45 -

If we were in the same gym, I'd definitely do it. And you do belong there. Kudos to you for going, especially feeling uncomfortable about it. It's so hard to leave your comfort zone so that shows how strong you are. I've been at my gym for a little over two years. I was morbidly obese back then and feeling out of place. I haven't seen anything but support and smiles. Or just people doing their own thing and not looking twice at me, which is fantastic. As time goes on I've gotten more comfortable with being there and more importantly with myself inside and out. Please stick with it, it's worth all the sweat. It really is.

Some people won't notice you lost weight until you buy new clothes. I just got new clothes that fit. I lost 70 lbs and was still wearing xl and 2x. Now I am a medium. Everyone was commenting on my weight loss yesterday in my new clothes when they had all seen me friday in my baggies.35

Nobody told me how long it would take to recognise the changes with my body, that It is sometimes hard to see and that even if your friends/family aren't commenting the losses are...noticeable once put into perspective.
Today I was thrift shopping, happily loading up an arm with pre-loved clothing items to tide me over until goal.
I entered the changing room baffled by how big the clothing looked against my body once in front of a mirror! I even tried them on because I thought they 'should' fit, they didn't. Still confused I returned them to the racks, selected more and they were still too big. Eventually feeling ridiculous I grabbed an even smaller sized jacket scoffing internally but the damn thing fit! Turns out I am smaller than I feel.

People knowingly or unknowingly try to encourage you to do something less healthy.
I had to wash out and then replace my water bottle (I am using a 2.5 liter pop bottle) because I took a drink and noticed what looked like little specks of dirt in the water. I went downstairs to the kitchen to fill up another one and explained what was going on and was told that I had plenty of pop in the fridge and why not drink that instead?
Same person to who told me to take a whole large bag of peanut butter M&Ms and peanut butter cookies upstairs with me so I would have them nearby. Yeah, they aren't nearby for a reason!17 -

One of my workmates came in to my office yesterday and did a dramatic gasp and said oh how was Maccas? (Mcdonalds) and I went huh? She pointed at my half eaten yoghurt cup and said "there you have their sundae" lol. I nicely said "you should know by now thats not me anymore it's actually strawberry yoghurt that I bought at a Cafe". She actually looked quite disappointed as if she is waiting for me to "fail" or something (yes she is very overweight). Same person said I will have to start toning up soon lol....some people are priceless24 -

Having my boss tell me its time to buy new clothes.
After waiting years for a personalized lead apron, a few months later the belt tighten is now too long (i was last in dept to get one). It dont fit (cant be tightened enough). Now I fit in all the regular ones. I can fit into my bosses leads.. WTF14 -
