Casi, would have loved to have been there with you. Maybe, not losing everything. But, sounds like a good time was to be had by all.

Robin, sorry that you've lost your mojo...hope you find it :flowerforyou:

    Monday, 0 drinks
    Tuesday, 0 drinks

This is my weekend off so I really need to save the drinks until then. It's a long weekend of baseball tournaments and then it's all over until next year. Hubs coaches both teams and I am ready to be done with all of it. Time to take mini-vactions.
  • Are you ready for this...????

Monday - 0 :noway: :noway: :noway:

Since I'm the biggest lush of the thread (in my opinion), I am going to try to cut down to only 4 days a week instead of the 6 I've been averaging. I know I CAN do it, I just have to WANT to!

Here is the problem... When I eat my calories in food, I don't lose for some reason. Is it maybe because the liquid you get rid of easier? I'm stumped. BUT I'm going to try it again and see if I can get my weight loss going again. 8 pounds in 2 months is not acceptable to me. :grumble:

Kasi... That's one hard night of drinking to lose that many things. Just glad you weren't seriously hurt in the fire!! :drinker:

    Oh boy...count me in.

Just for this past weekend, that would be 3 cases of beer, 1 bottle whiskey and 2 six packs red bull. Ya [hangs head], I am definitely one.

But on a good note, I am drying out yesterday and today. Tomorrow is pool league, that is another story, then casino trip with buddies on Friday.

    Oy vay!

    Hola Lushes!

I am thinking I am going to be super good and not have a drink until Saturday night when we are going to a dinner party. Even then I plan to try to keep it mellow with the wine since I have a workout the next day. Triathlon training used to help me not drink because I was training all weekend, now I have just taught myself how to drink and still train as well as eat way too much food. Here's to getting back on track! I think I will be having a dry month of August since my bday is the last weekend of the month and I want to have some weight loss conquered by then.

Finally a group I can relate too!!! Drank way too many beers for the holiday weekend! OK I usually drink way too many beers on any weekend!! but BEER is GOOD!

    Monday-0
    Tuesday-0
Wednesday- not planning on it but you never know!
  • New to this whole Website and Loving it!!! I especially like this thread....I always feel the "drinks" are my whole reason for always feeling defeated and not keeping on the diet. It is good to see that others are going through the same thing and are still able to find ways and encouragement to lose the weight!!! P.S. Had three glasses of wine last night

I thought I would not drink last night. I was wrong. Home alone looking over some separation documents for my sister and I just needed some wine for that, a big, 10 oz glass of sauvignon blanc. Only over on cals by 12 though and I was under maintenance so I am too concerned. Still, probably drinking tonight...

Lushy, lushy weekend, but didn't go crazy on food at all. Getting back to my gallon of water a day today. Boyfriend is grabbing a beer with one of our friends after work so I see no reason to not have a drink myself haha. Probably some wine, maybe a mixed drink, we'll see. After this weekend I'm done with beer for awhile. Power hours and how fizzy it is, it's tough to get even a buzz unless it's on an empty stomach.

Yep, I think the title of "Lushiest" would be a very tight race with this group. I personally have managed to cut back alot but when I do drink I'm truly a hot-mess!

Momma lush here and proud of it. I had really gotten control but lately old habits are creeping back in. Since today is our last day of sunshine for a while I think I will partake. I am sure I will find my mojo again soon. (thanks Kim)

So to all my dear lushes I raise a glass and say "Cheers!":drinker: (and that isn't water)

Yess..cheers to you all..thanks for never judging. If you were all in my phone and I was texting you when I've had 1 (or 10) too many, i'm not quite so sure you'd be as forgiving..lol.
I just poured some wine. My teenage son sent me a bit over the edge this afternoon. I still turn to alcohol to calm my nerves/relieve stress/celebrate..hell just about deal with *any* emotion. I realize it's no more healthy than turning to food in those situations..but I'm dealing with one thing at a time for now.
Hell, I quite smoking. I gotta have me ONE vice to fall back on when I'm not willing to deal with my real emotions!

Good job quitting smoking! Your right, one vice at a time. My husband and I go rounds with that one... He smokes, so if he gets stressed he just steps outside to have one but god forbid I want a glass of wine when i'm having a bad day. He tells me that's not the way to deal with things.... silly boy:drinker:

Thanks Kasi. It was the single, most difficult thing I ever have done!
My Dr. told me as a woman, the absolute MOST important thing I could do to improve my health was to quit smoking. (more important than losing weight)
I quit when I had my son years ago...but took it up again..probably to help deal with the pregnancy weight. :frown:
Did that about 5 years ago and in the meantime my weight inched up.
Now, I'm going to deal with that, because it's at the point where I was no longer just a little chubby, but fat. lol.
I will address any concerns with alcohol at some point too, I suppose. Clearly, I'm a pretty linear person.

    Monday - 1.5 Margaritas
Tuesday - 2 glasses of Cabernet
Wednesday - 2 Bloody Marys and 1 shot of espresso vodka and Baileys

Going to try to behave the next couple of days.

    Cheers to all :drinker:
  • I'm glad I found this!! Trying to limit my drinking has been the hardest part of trying to lose weight. ESPECIALLY in the summer when everyone is drinking at the pool or the lake or having bbqs.

SoCal, I totally believe you have to take any goal you have and break it down into smaller pieces. Work on one thing at a time, once the first piece is mastered move on to the next and you'll eventually get to where you want to be.

Wow...I'm lovin this group. I've been cutting back greatly on sweets and other naughty things. But you will pry my wine out of my cold, dead hands. How does this work? Do you just post how much booze you've drank on a given day? Inquiring minds want to know :-)

Last week was a killer for me as I was on vacation at the lake. I was the one carrying around a cooler (aka my beer purse) with my beer in it or else my big cup of UV Blue Vodka lemonades or Skinny Girl margaritas along with my Trader Joe's wine tote filled with booze for shots and I also made jello shots...they called me "party in a bag" as a result. There were 4 jello shots left the night before we packed up so I polished those off on my own before bed. The shame, I know. They were delicious though!

Just remember, you can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning! Cheers, to my like minded lush MFP friends!
