However, i have been seeing someone for the past few weeks who has proven to be a very lovely and geuine guy. We both don't want to be in a relationship with anyone but we do still have a lot of physical attraction and talked about juat having a purely physical relationship.
You're lying to yourself. You obviously already have feelings for the guy. You shouldn't be looking for an F-buddy who's "geniune and lovely" -- that's already more than an FWB.
FWB always works out until someone develops feelings, and then it become a dramatic disaster and someone (usually the woman in my experience, but YMMV) gets hurt.
You're better off with random hookups.

Friends with benefits works if you don't give two *kitten* for your friend emotionally. It'll work if your invested emotionally in someone else. Then it's just side *kitten*0
