Welcome back!
I don't have any push or pull to get anything done around here and it's frustrating me. Supervisors can SEE that it's frustrating me and they do nothing. The ONLY person who has made an effort to REALLY push for me is in FREAKING HOUSTON and he doesn't even have that much pull so he's pushing it to HIS supervisor and ALL we want is the damn lock on this one door replaced so that TechServices can finally admit that "Oh yeah! I guess that IS our problem!" and get down here to fix the darn door! So that people can go IN the door and go OUT the door without setting off a freaking ALARM!
/end rant
OKay.... so anyway, the end result of all of that is, my student loan repayment(particularly the one I have in collections) is coming to the forefront and I will be going back to school. For what, I'm not sure yet, but I'm leaning towards anything I can do 100% or like 98% online while I am at work. I'm checking things out and looking at my options.

Cool! Going back to school will be good. Online classes are tough. You have to be motivated to keep up on things or they can get away from you quickly.
Sorry about the door. Break the other one so no one can get in or out and they may fix the broken one.0 -
I'm done. See you guys tonight.0

I'm glad vacation was fun!
@lilaclovebird If people would just do their jobs... I guess after working in such a high stress job, I have a really low tolerance for people who slack at their jobs. I gotta be 100% all the time and they don't have to be but it's a struggle for them to just do 25%
I want to go back to school too and online, but I have no clue what to go to school for. I have a BA in criminal justice so I can pretty much do anything. People have suggested business, public administration, emergency management...if you figure out something, let me know lol. I could sure use a break on paying my loans back too, can't lie.
Dayshift wasn't bad yesterday and today, so far, so good. One of the more unique employees here is coming to this rotation today, working 12p-12a so it might get interesting later on.0 -
Umm....tell us more about what makes this employee "unique..." lol!0

Well she's an older lady and is less than 18 months away from retiring. She's not retired on the job by any means but she's quirky. She's loud, brash, and opinionated. Some days she doesn't speak to anyone and other days she won't stop talking. We never quite know which version we're going to get She likes watching Food Network for 12 hours and when she is talking to us, we can barely get a word in edgewise.0
-
Maybe she is manic.0

First slow night in a long time. It's kind of nice.0
-
Off tonight. You guys are on your own. I'll be on starting Friday for two weeks straight. Can't wait for the other Doctor to get back.0
-
But, but, but...fine, I'll just have to keep myself entertained!0
-
@sufferlandrian She might be lmao. She's really interesting to work with. And holy h#ll 2 weeks straight??
I'm back for the weekend. Which is probably a good thing bc hubs has a man cold AKA he's dying So far so good on getting up at 4am. As long as I have my clothes laid out and food done the night before, I'm good. We'll see how long that lasts lmao0 -
This weekend I am working a modified shift. Instead of coming in at 11pm and working until 700am, I get to arrive at 2am and work until 10am. Not sure if I am going to like this or not...0
-
That's a really jacked up schedule.0

Today I used my last training session out of the 20 I purchased almost 2 years ago. My gym membership ends in less than a week and my new agency has a gym. So I used my session to explain that I had taken almost 1.5yrs off from training and was 76lbs higher and around 15% more body fat from my last session with them (pregnancy, car wreck, meds, laziness). I asked him to use my last session to give me fresh stats and a starting point of where I am. Well today I weighed in 65lbs heavier than when I stopped all that time ago and 12% body fat higher. But I was down 11lbs from when I started eating healthy again a month ago. He ran me through a few exercises to see where I was at. I have essentially lost my back muscles, my upper and center ab muscles, and quite a bit of strength in my upper body. The good news in all of this downfall is that I retained (in his words) "great form" on squats and lunges (my previous trainer made me do those nonstop and emphasized form---im thankful for that) and that I retained a decent lower abdominal and side abdominal range. So while I'm very disappointed in actually seeing how far I've fallen and that ill be starting over worse off than I did before....Im also very thankful and remaining positive that I am starting back and that I did retain a good form on those. Plus ya know....11lbs in a month with only changing some of my eating habits is a pretty nice accomplishment!
Always have to find the bright side right?!?!?!1 -
LacednLace - That's pretty dang good to lose that much just changing eating habits. I know the fitness will come back and the weight off as you get back to working out. It took me 15 years to put on 40 lbs and 2 to take 20 of that back off. Working nights has not been kind to my fitness, but since I started this job out in Kalispell, it's a lot easier. We have a fair amount of exercise equipment in the clinic. You'll have to keep us posted on how it goes with the fitness.1
