I'm your neighbor to the North, Hampton Roads area of VA.
Hey!1 -
Unmarried, but happily committed. I typically steer clear of this section because I feel out of place. Too much flirting for my liking.2

Ugh!!! Venting here real quick. I love this man completely but for the past 2 days I am over it. I want him gone so that I can clean and have things stay clean. He makes more clutter and mess than the kids. I really thought that when I took over as bread winner and he was home he would pick up the slack at home with chores but instead he just makes more of a mess for me to clean.1

I have a whiteboard on the fridge that's the "to-do" list. Husband and I both work full-time but we share the chores. Often, he'll be standing in a mess going..."Uhhhh, what needs to be done?" I tell him to go look at the list. It's cut and dry.6 -
@SCoil123 You sound just like my DW! LOL
I keep telling her that it's just that my standards of what is clean, messy, dirty etc is not the same as hers. No matter how hard I try my clean will never be good enough for her.
Her being a bit OCD (IMHO) doesn't help the situation.

I so get this! I can come home after he's been home a while and figure out every single thing he's done, looked at, used, and opened while I was gone by what's left out and open and what's on the counters/floor/table/chairs. You'd think after 28 years I'd be used to it. I'm not. But, I'm pretty sure I've got some things that irritate him, too. Probably that I put everything away that he's sure he left on the counter.2 -

If we were married, I would just hide your lil' whiteboard.
This weekend MOSAF asked that I compose a To Do list. I took a sheet of paper and wrote the word: "Nothing" on it.
..... I then checked it off.
( btw... MOSAF stands for Minister of Sex and Finance; we're married.)3 -

Married for 16 years. Hard work but, worth it. Been a stay-at-home mommy for 4+ years & we have young 3 children. I can't relate to chore lists. We discuss what our expectations from each other are & so long as we agree that they're reasonable, we just follow through...whether it has to do with the house, money, etc. It's not perfect by any means but, the happy times surely outweigh the bad ones by far.4

Happily married and enjoy chatting! Yes it does seem like most of the chit chat is focused with singles, glad to know someone else feels the same way!1

I had a fun experience with my husband the other night. We were out dancing together. A guy came up to my husband and said, "Marry her! You two are the happiest couple here. You have to marry that girl! Marry her!" My husband said, "Actually we have been married for 16 years. " Guy said, "Oh, no wonder you are so happy!"7
