    Morning gals:
It seems my life has overtaken me again..I need to put the brakes on, but not sure how. I have so many commitments and none on to my health. :) I did a little better yesterday, but I haven't tracked and that is the BAD part. It really is my boundary keeper. I fell hard at work yesterday, and It aggravated my shoulder where my door hit me and just put me out of whack and then if that wasn't enough, I twisted my ankle walking out of a night function for work. I am trying to say to myself what is going on? My mom used to say first the natural then the spiritual...I am trying to say am I getting old? is it something more deeper that says..you are being knocked down on every avenue, but you keep getting back up? See how my mind plays me? it NEVER shuts off.

So today is the last day at our old place of work, we move into our new one and hopefully it will cut down on my drive time and frustration. But right now everything is CRAZY.

Oh my I just realized I haven't taken my vitamins in a long time.

Okay, I am a person of ROUTINE and it's the only way I function. SO maybe that's where I start...getting MY routine back.

    Good morning,

@theslightedgeforever and @gemwolf110 - Thank you for for the encouragement.

@cbabie - I am sorry about your fall. I once went through a time when life was hectic and stressful and I was having accidents and injury, someone told me that I need to slow down, learn to say no, and figure out what was important to me or I would end up having a heart attack or stroke and then I would be totally screwed. I looked at my life and thought to myself I am screwed now, how would I cope with something worse added on to what I had to deal with now? I first thought about what was really important to me, my family. I knew I had to take care of myself so I could take care of them. I then started questioning myself about everything I was doing, was this ______ (fill in the blank) something that I HAVE TO DO to make me or my family better and stronger? Is ______ going to matter next week, next month, next year? It was hard at first then I realized that a lot of the things I was worrying about and doing where not going to change the big picture down the road. I was a go to person because I had never said no to anyone. I was saying yes to people because that was where I was getting my self worth. Then I realized I am more than what I do. Saying no became easier and most of the time they could find someone else to do whatever it was they wanted done. I still do many things for others, but they are things that are important to me. It is the quality and not the quantity. My life is much more fulfilled now then when I was running around crazy. How to do this? Some of the things I did was made pro and con lists. I wrote in a journal then read through and see what bothered me the most and targeted those areas to work on. I think everyone gets there from their own path. Hang in there, you are an awesome person and you got this. It is just a project like any other that you have done in your life, you are building the life that you want. The great thing is, is that you have all your life experience and the skills needed to to make it happen. Be kind to yourself. I am rooting for you.

gemwolf What breed of dog is your puppy. So I challenge you to at least 15 min on the treadmill tomorrow. I'll do the same. Track one meal.

cbabie ouch on your fall. Your balance is off and I mean that physically and spiritually. So how do you put on the brakes? step on the pedal which means action from you. The car won't slow down itself as it is speeding along and you are trying to control it by veering in and out of traffic. You just ran a red light. - didn't track.
I'm glad to hear you will have less of a commute. Now what will you do for yourself with that extra time. Guard that time like precious diamonds. Otherwise life will just seep in and fill up the cracks. You could read a good book. Go to a starbucks or a nice park and just read. That's one day a week. Take a yoga class. Some cities have pay as you go classes at community recreation centers. That's one day. Cook a new healthy recipe. That's one day. See I could fill up all your time. lol

mysticlizard great words of wisdom for cbabie That's what is special about our group. Support and offer insight to each other. Kick butts as needed. If we see someone missing, send them a PM. If they aren't here it's either life is kicking them or they aren't doing well in their journey. Just a friendly reminder we are all in this together. High School Musical song just ran through my head.

I went to a brunch today at a friends house. Bad thing about French food is the portions are so small but when you enter them in MFP big numbers come up. I went over cals by 10 Not bad at all.

@gemwolf110 and @mysticlizard he has sort of made up a recipe over the years, but here is one that is pretty good and he gets a lot of inspiration from: japanesefood.about.com/od/ramen/r/shoyuramen.htm He boils a chicken for a long time, a couple of hours, for the broth.

@theslightedgeforever if you've got a good plan, hang on tight. Great job tracking the French food!

@cbabie I'm sorry you fell, that sounds painful. Sometimes what gets me back on track with tracking is to pretrack just one meal. One meal a day, and once I got that down, I add another meal. I hope it does cut down on the commute for you, I have an hour each way and I know how that can get old!

I was under my calories yesterday but I'm not sure I'm going to pull that off again today, I have pretracked everything but dinner and I have like 404 cals left for dinner. I just switched my rate of weight loss to 1.5 lbs a week, so I'm still adjusting to the lower cals. I need to get to the gym today now that I am feeling better. I need to make my step goal!

    Have a great day everyone.

    Morning gals:

I am running late, I did track yesterday and went over, but I tracked. That is all that matters today. I did get over my 10K steps. I am just hurting all over today. My neck and shoulder, it's giving me like a headache. I am going to go walk, and get in a HOT shower and see if that helps.

@mysticlizard :Thank you so much for the feedback on my too much to do list. I know I am out of balance and have to get back to balance. My Church life is VERY important to me, more so than my job. However, I have a job to do and it won't get done by itself. It's all because it's new to me I feel like I am in a battle in every area of my life. :(

@theslightedgeforever : thanks for your input on my balance. Glad you tracked..yes today I have a working lunch with a rep today and even the salad is about 650 calories..oh well I am making the best choice for what is on the menu.

@gemworth Yep vitamins are essential. I did take mine yesterday.

@dawnemjh Morning! I hope you have a fast recovery with your hip. I was just thinking today because my neck hurts so bad...what if I fell and really hurt my neck or something and was limited my activity..so another reason to take care of me. :)
@trooworld Thank you, yes I made it one day tracking...now lets' make it 2!!! Hope you get to the gym, you will feel totally accomplished..LOL

okay the rest of you newbies where are you?

Hi, everybody!! I haven't checked in for a while so I know I have missed a lot of good motivation and pointers. Even though I am retired, I have been staying so busy. I have both my parents still, thank God. I have been taking them back and forth to doctors. My Dad is having hand surgery on Halloween and my Mom may have to have a hip replacement soon. Anyway, I have missed reading about everyone. I was stuck at the same weight for it seems forever, so I tried something different. I am eating low carbs and higher protein. A lot of my sugar cravings are gone for the most part and the scale is moving in the right direction again. It seems to make me less hungry, which is good because my appetite was always pretty good or bad. Lol. Hopefully I will get to my goal weight which is only 8 pounds away!! Yay!!! Once I reach my goal weight I will see if I want to try a little lower. Everyone have a wonderful week....

    Hello ladies,
I need to stop by here more often. I'm gone a few days and when I return I have soooo much to catch up on.
I'm trying to be on track. I really want to start going to the Y to exercise, so I will need to put that on my schedule. I've been eating better and I do move all day. You can't stay still with 2 little ones around, but going to the gym gives me some me time and I need that!!!
@cbabie I'm sorry to hear you are going through a rough time. I'll say a prayer for all to get better and for you to heal quickly from that fall!!
@gemwolf110 I do like the new name lol! It's tough for me to track everyday too, but everyday we get is a new day to start over.
@bugmom92 Hi Karen!! Ok I'm replying to the last post I read from you about the dentist. I have to catch up on the posts on here lol.
The dentist I go to now is actually my second opinion dentist. He told me the same thing the first dentist told me, but his treatment was a lot cheaper than the first dentist, so I'm sticking with this one. Thank God my teeth are a lot better. I still have a few more things to do, but I want to take a little break from the dentist right now lol lol!!

I have to go back and catch up on the posts and I'll return to finish up my personals!!

@theslightedgeforever - I am going to try the cauliflower nachos tomorrow.

I did not get my hour of exercise and I am over on my calories tonight. One of those days. I did get my dentures, my kids say they look good. It will take awhile to get used to them. I also picked up our new to us car (yay!) Now when I lose the weight I will truly be styling lol. Tomorrow I will be back on track.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day tomorrow.

trooworld Pretracking is a good idea. Problem is me remembering to do it. lol I need to work on my step goal too.

gemwolf I got in my 15 treadmill. I swear the only reason I did is that I challenged you. lol

cbabie Yaay on the tracking. My dh fell on vacation in May and he injured two discs in his neck and his shoulder was damaged. His started with the headeaches. Does your insurance pay for chiropractor visits? Another thing helped was massages and a hand massager. Plus we bought this little thing at Walmart that sends little electric charges into the affected area. It's like a TENS unit they use in physical therapy only cheaper and smaller. It's portable He has arthritis in two other discs in his neck.

lore Good to see you again. Wow only eight lbs away from goal. That's awesome. Aging parents are hard. My motherinlaw lives with me now.

peru I saw you lost 5 lbs so you must be doing something right. What day are you going to the Y this week.

mysticlizard. Good luck with your dentures. That word is a 4-letter word to me because of my motherinlaw. lol
She has dementia and so really can't help herself but she wears them only for decor. When she eats she pulls them out no matter how many times we tell her. Or she will take a bite and then put them in and then pull them out. Then back and forth til I get fed up and say just put them on the table til you are done. So back at it tomorrow on the food and exercise.

I was under quite a bit today with calories That's unusual. A good thing though

cbabie You said this the other day when you had that dizziness and nauseousness.

    1) Tell each other your biggest challenge that you faced today or yesterday
The biggest challenge was to take care of ME
    2) Give one reason why you are following your program.
Because I want my health, I want to be active, mind alert, no doctors, live to enjoy my family and to serve God with the body he gave me.

Now compare that to this: I have been extremely busy..so busy that I haven't visited you guys, logged, or exercised. The weekends are tough on me as my DH sleeps forever and I am always on the move, never at home.

See the disconnect. I think that little episode was your body warning you. We all care about you. So it sounds like on the weekend you take care of everyone but you. I think you mentioned before that your treadmill was in the bedroom. Could you take a walk outside or do a Leslie Sansone video from Youtube on your computer in another room. If something were to happen to you and you ended up in the hospital or on chemo, all those things that keep you running would fall by the wayside or as usual someone else would have to step up and do them. Say YES to yourself. <3

trooworld I'm like that when I'm sick. I want comfort food. The good thing is that you recognized your craving and distracted yourself. That didn't happen for me. So what's the difference between restaurant ramen and the instant kind. Other than the obvious lol

gemwolf Yaaay on feeling better My cat hated going to the vet. She would sense it I swear. OK let's do the exercise this week and crank up our metabolism.

mysticlizard YES on exercise and eating right. I see some lbs gone in your future.

    Morning gals:

I struggled with a horrible headache yesterday afternoon...I finally went to bed around 7:45, slept for 2 hours was wide awake, but made myself go back to sleep after a bit..I am feeling better. no headache.

I logged all my food and yesterday was not so good, but I was reading Lore's post and I agree I felt so much better when I was doing the low carb. I just took it to the extreme as I always do and didn't finish my race.

I am going to go get on my treadmill and get my day moving in the right direction.

@lore11a glad to see you posting. I know about aged parents. I only have one now, but he is a mess. I am really feeling quite low about his situation. I am so busy and don't seem to have the time to take care of him as I should.

@theslightedgeforever LOL you should do more challenges for yourself, I think that is what motivates you. Sorry to hear about your DH...my dad is so into gadgets for health..and he is so unhealthy..EX EMT will get you every time. I have one of the ones they use in therapy. He had two and gave me one. never used it. Reminds me of when I was i therapy with my knee. :)

@peruviansweetie Good to see you gal!! I am sure you are busy..you like the way slightedge ask you about the Y? LOL that's what we are here for is to encourage each other. I am happy to see you looking at what you need and not all about the kids and DH.

@mysticlizard my DH has dentures, but he doesn't take care of them and never really learned how to eat with them. Something he eats without and some with. I just want to smack him..the grandkids of course love to see

Hi everyone, I hope everyone is going to do at least one fun thing this weekend.

@theslightedgeforever - I'm sorry, I had to chuckle about your MIL. I used to have an uncle that kept his teeth in his bib overall pocket. He would put them in at the table and back in his pocket when he was through.

@cbabie - I managed to to eat mushrooms today with them in, without them popping out. I was thrilled though it took me a long time to eat. I will get it eventually. Even though your eating wasn't right at least you logged it. That is a victory in itself.

@lore11a - I found a cauliflower nacho recipe online that I am going to try tomorrow. If it turns out I would be happy to give it to you.

@gemwolf110 - How is your fur baby doing?

I did not get my hour of exercise in but I am doing well on my eating. I'm just trying to get a lot done around the house before we go to TX on Thursday. I am thinking about eating strategies to use while on the road. I would appreciate any ideas that any of you have used or have heard of.

my battle gear on...saying it's not over yet..I will win this battle in all things.

getting my exercise in will be tough today as I am not home a lot today, but I am going to try!!

tracking is a must..that's like going into the battle without my battle plan.

@mysticlizard I am not sure about traveling strategies...I don't travel too much. :( yea for you for your eating and not giving up.

@theslightedgeforever I do it first thing in the morning, I won't allow myself to go on Facebook until I do. lol I also have an alarm set on my phone for 7pm, that's when I have to finish up my log for the day if I've made any changes. I need to up my steps so badly! Chasing the dogs around sounds like a fun way to get steps in.

@lore11a the difference is that you use different noodles (refrigerated fresh noodles) and the broth takes a couple of hours to make. You also put soft boiled eggs in the finished soup, along with naruto (fish cake). If you scroll up some, you'll see a pic I posted of a good looking ramen. :) I haven't made cauliflower yet but I sure do like the way those nachos looked!

@cbabie - Go cbabie, you can do it!

@lore11a - Hubby came home and I didn't get to try the nachos, he is leaving out tonight so I will make them tomorrow and let you know how it went.

I did not get my hour of exercise in again today. Three days - I must do it tomorrow. I had a victory of another sort though. I was digging through my drawers trying to find shirts that fit, the 4x are huge as are most of the 3x. Buried in the bottom of the drawer I found five new 2x shirts that I had bought when I had lost the weight before. I had forgotten all about them. So now I have new shirts to wear to TX and I won't have to go out and shop (I hate shopping) YAY!!! :)

lore Here's the recipe for the nachoshttps://youtube.com/watch?v=E1zo_HNaz7s

cbabie I do better on a modified carb diet than a low carb. Good for you on tracking and your treadmill. Have you thought about not exercising on Saturdays. Even God rested that last day. You can always choose to exercise if you want to but by not making it mandatory, no guilt. Guilt makes us feel bad which makes us eat. On the calendar
thing, tried it and yeah I blew it off. Now I'm trying Trello. I'm a visual person so this may help me more.

gemwolf Back to 15 minutes on the treadmill. Break it up into three sets of 5 min if you are busy. I can't imagine housebreaking a puppy. I hated doing it with my kids. But something that has to be done, right?

mysticlizard My mil can be funny at times. She has dementia\Alzheimers. Yesterday she was eating a pear and I kept hearing a noise and I looked and she had half of her pear and half of her teeth out chomping away. smh Of course that got a Put your teeth on the table, mama. I tried putting that adhesive tape but she picks it all off and then plays with the tape. lol My friend used to pack a cooler with healthy snacks and water for her long road trips. Some sandwiches. She said that kept her from buying soda, chips, and candy bars at every gas station. Yaaay on fitting into smaller clothes. I had a shirt that was really tight across the chest and I hadn't done laundry and I saw it and I couldn't believe it fit so much better. I have two more shirts I bought that I'm still waiting to get into. Maybe 5 more lbs and I'll try it on

trooworld I was looking at the word naruto and it reminded me of a Japanese character that my boys watch. They've been watching for years even though it's in Japanese and they read subtitles.

    Hi Ladies,

@lore11a - I used the same recipe as theslightedgeforever. I used 1 T less of oil and tossed the oil, spices, and cauliflower in a gallon zip lock to get the coating more even. I should have left the cauliflower in the oven longer to get it more crispy. But it was a nice change of menu.

I got 51 minutes of my hour exercise in then had to pick up my youngest daughter. I am counting that as a victory.

I hope everyone has a good evening.

    Morning team!

I am sucky at this weight thing lately. no exercise yesterday, ran late for church. I got interrupted by a 15 year old boy that was bored..LOL oh well life is life and we live it.

I didn't track yesterday either, but back on the wagon today. I have to work from home today as our new building at work won't be ready until tomorrow. But the good news is that I won't be driving our freeways EVERYDAY anymore. I have been driving 62 miles a day just to and from work, not including driving to clients. So I am happy about THAT! So I figure new route to work new route to health..LOL

@theslightedgeforever great job, you got 3%, I got zippo I would like to lose 4 lbs by Thanksgiving.
I couldn't find cauliflower at the store for some reason...so it will be next week before I try your recipies.

I hope everyone had a good Monday. I didn't get in my exercise and my eating has been crap today. I will get up tomorrow and do better. I hope everyone has a good Tuesday.

@mysticlizard Mondays just stink! Today is a new day, start fresh.

I'm up at 4:20 am today to go to the gym like I planned. Not happy about being up so early, I haven't gotten adequate sleep in a few days, but I said I would go so I'm going. Grumble grumble. It's hard to get motivated to go knowing that losing weight is 80% diet, but exercise is still important.
