I walked out of the gym today and saw that someone had parked their pickup way too close to my car. I thought to myself oh yeh, how am I going to squeeze into my car without smashing my door against the pickup? Guess what....I had no problem getting into my car and didn't even come close to hitting his vehicle with my door!22

Tried out Insanity Asylum today and got through it, haha.11

Love this - sounds like the voice I periodically hear inside my head.8 -
Been so busy at work this week haven't checked out this thread in about three days! Wonderful, wonderful posts everyone! So motivating!!

I'm on medication for depression and anxiety. My therapist relayed to me yesterday that my doctor, who prescribed these meds, wants me to test my levels because I have lost "such a phenomenal amount of weight." At the time I nodded thinking "okay need to schedule that appointment" but now I'm realizing this may end up being a NSV. Lower med doses! Never never thought that would be a thing.
I love all these posts! I check every day or so and its such a positive thing!26 -
I did it! Ran the 5k this morning in 37:44. Was really happy to have run most of it under 12min/mi pace but the last .5 was all uphill, and I slowed down. Still very happy with 12:09/mi average as it's still faster than anything else I've recorded.
It was 40 degrees and slightly raining and it still felt fantastic.29 -
I had to buy a belt at the beginning of October and was using the notch closest to the end. Well, as of this morning, I'm 3 notches in!14

I couldn't find my house keys. I kept patting down my pockets but couldn't feel them because I'm wearing jeans from March and they are way baggy. Six months ago I couldn't have even fit my house keys in a front pocket of my jeans. Yay me!20

AMEN! Wish I'd stayed in shape, time FLEW. I'm 51. Ack!2 -

LOL - I've found sort of the opposite: My keys used to stay in the capacious pocket of my size 14W (or bigger) jeans. But the pockets in my size 4 misses jeans are so much smaller, even in the same brands, that the keys keep working their way out. I have to attach them to a belt loop, or I lose them!7 -
I can easily wear and remove my Peace Corps ring!! I didn't think that was ever going to happen again!

Instead of taking 1 minute to get up or down the stairs, it takes me 18 seconds now. I timed myself again because it didn't seem like it was taking me a minute to get up or down.14

NSV #1:
Was in my brother's wedding today as a bride's maide. The dress I bought 3 weeks ago fit, but was a tiny bit snug under the arms (sleeveless, with open shoulders and a round choker like neckline) when I bought. Put it on today and it was comfortable, almost too loose under the arms to not hide the side of my bra. I started this journey wearing a 3x in the end of August and the dress I wore today was a 1x. Not where I want to be, but not where I used to be, so I will take it. (still look like a beached whale in the pics I have seen so far, but i felt pretty today for the first time in a long time)
NSV #2:
I rarely go out in anything other than barn clothes (because I work there). While I appreciate being politely hit on by 4 different guys in the grocery store within 15 minutes tonight (while in the dress mentioned above....the store was on the way home), I am not used to the attention...and my husband would flip his *kitten* if he knew (jealous but has no reason to be. I am 1000000% his alone ). Must be doing something right to be complimented like that though!!30 -
I got a size 40 jeans on Wednesday I figure that was my size. It turn's out I need 38 yay me27

I can walk 2.5 miles an hour now instead of just 2 miles per hour.37

I have been using a training plan on Map My Walk and have been doing both walking and/or running depending on the plan for that day. Today the plan was to walk 5 minutes, run 1 & walk 1 (7 times), walk 5 minutes. Normally, when I am done, the app says I walked, today it said I ran. I wasn't expecting it and it just made me smile to know I had improved my pace enough to qualify for the change (at least, I think that's what it means).
It's a small step toward my goal of completely running a 5k (I have done 2 in the past, but always had to walk some), but it is a step nonetheless.28 -
My bathroom scale broke and I had to buy a new one.
The new one shows a 7lbs gain when I know I've been doing just fine. The old me would have been so upset that I'd have given up or binge eating. Sure I was a disappointed, but in the end it's just a number and I've gotten better no matter what the damn thing says!!!31 -
The smallest jeans I own, a size 18, slipped on like a glove yesterday after being WAY too tight just a few weeks ago.24

I loved a pair of size 20 dark skinny jeans that I wore once a year ago, but they were really too tight so I put them away until I lost some weight. 43 pounds later, I was excited to get them down off the shelf and wear them to an event. I put them on and they are huge on the top and look silly. I listed them on eBay for a bargain for someone else. Time to clean out the closet! I swear I'm not keeping any larger-than-me-now size clothes for "just in case".20

I let two weeks of illness turn into two more weeks of no exercise and lazy eating. Just that quickly--I was up five lbs and feeling like a slug.
Today my victory is having my first day back on track.43 -
1) My UK size 10's are too big for me - I only started wearing them this week
I can squeeze into a UK size 8 but they are a little tight to wear comfortably so I guess that the size 10's will have to do for now.
It's very annoying to have to keep hitching them up all the time but they have no belt loops so unless I put a tuck in the back I'll have to keep on with the acrobatics
2) I was complaining to my daughter that my body has no shape (ie, no curves) and it's just straight up and down at the moment when my husband (who never comments about my appearance) said that I'm becoming "quite shapely". I still can't see it though, but maybe when I've lost a bit more
3) Glanced at myself in a mirror earlier and actually thought that, for once, I am starting to get down to a weight that others only dream of . . . a couple of years ago I felt that I could only dream of being my current weight.22 -
It wasn't long but, for the first time in a very long time, I jogged for almost 2 minutes during my 55 minute walk!! And it felt great!! Even with the little bit I have lost the last month, it just FEELS different when I jogged. Maybe some day I can take a run, slow run, with my sister. (She has ran 2 marathons!)25

I went to the movies yesterday and was happily surprised when I didn't have to squeeze my hips between the arms of the seat. There was actually extra room13

We're looking at buying a vacation property and my husband was trying to convince me that one property would be great because it was near a state park with a beach and I could "wear my bathing suit there." I said I've never worn a bathing suit in public in my entire life and I don't intend to start now. He then switched tactics and said it looked like a good place to jog and I could "wear my jogging shorts." Haha, my husband is trying to convince me to buy a house based on a good jogging location! I would've never seen that coming not too long ago.29

I was out shopping with the wife and she talked me into trying on some jeans. I really didn't even know what size I would wear anymore so I made an educated guess and grabbed some 36's. I formerly wore 44's that I could hardly button and my gut hung way over them. When I got to the dressing room, I looked at those jeans and my mind said there is no way those little things are going to fit. Then, I pulled them up and they buttoned right up. It felt pretty good.41

Today I wore a beautiful Renaissance Halloween costume my mom made for me when I was 16, almost 20 years ago. I'm no where near as thin as I was then but today was the first time in years I was actually able to wear it!28
-
Made it through hosting a kids halloween party at the home, tons of candy, pizza, beer (not for the kids, lol), managed to stick very well to my calorie deficit goal when I was kind of mentally preparing myself to not be able to.20

Went to the movies with my boyfriend last night, was going to wear a cute salmon colored lace dress I have to go out, I tried it on and it was way too loose for me, especially around the bust area. It is an XL so that must mean I'm closer to a L!27

I just finished my first 5 k run...and got rid of a huge garbage bag full of clothes that are too big!30

Congrats on the 5 km! I've realized that getting rid of the old clothes is a big deal and that it's like a mental exercise too. It's cleaning out all the things that got you to that place that you just didn't want to be and a statement that you will never go back to the old way of life again. Good job!!!7
