I bought a shirt a few months ago that I love, but it was always tight around my hips. When I wore it, I felt awkward and constricted; I was always having to adjust it because my lower belly and hips were squeezing it upward. Sitting in it was a nightmare.
I'm wearing that shirt today and it fits perfectly! I'm sitting at my desk totally comfortable; the bottom of the shirt is draped in my lap exactly as it should be, instead of straining around my belly bulge. I haven't lost a whole lot yet (really, a drop in the ocean considering my size), but today... it's enough.34 -
I went to a power interval class this morning. I was scared and doubting whether or not I belonged there..., but I did it and while I was clearly not keeping up.... I will one day.29

@kingleahnidas I LOVE that photo. You look so happy and successful. Rock on with your awesome self!
Wow thank you so much!!3 -
I work in the clinic where my doctor that helps track my progress is. He personally came to my desk to give me a pat on the back and tell me I'm doing a good job losing weight and keeping with my meal plans and what not.28

At work today a client I met just a few weeks ago noticed a group photo I'm in that was taken about 18 months ago. He said, "Is that you in that picture out there?! Wow! I've known people who have lost some weight but that's amazing! Most people can't do that!" A very welcome bright spot in an otherwise difficult day.29

In the auditorium at work there are these chairs that have thin metal supports on the sides that hold up the armrests that would dig into the sides of my thighs when I sat in one. Last week I was in there for a talk and I heard someone behind me say that the chairs needed to be about 3 inches wider, so looked down and there was about a half inch on each side between me and the supports.29

Ran a 5K on Sunday!!! Ran the whole thing, didn't come in last (!), and had fun. And I hit 280 pounds that morning = 40 pounds lost. Next stop: New Year's Day First Run!
Really wonderful pic! Go you!!11 -
Today I'm noticing a definite uptick in energy. It usually takes me two or three hours in the morning to drag myself around -- sipping coffee, sloooooowly getting dressed, watching some TV for a while, slooooowly doing my hair, etc. This morning I woke up feeling zippy and got everything done in 45 minutes! When I think about it, I've been less tired and groggy in the afternoons, too. It feels fantastic.28

Did 60 squats the other day and the first 30 were like nothing! I feel it today, but starting at 284 and to be 42 lbs. down feels awesome! Still have about 80 lbs to go but I keep reminding myself I'm a third of the way to my goal!27

I just did 25 minutes of intervals on the treadmill. 2-3 mph for 1 minute and 5 mph for 1 minute.
Tried to do 15 minutes of it a month ago and couldn't. Haven't tried since (did things other than intervals). Tried tonight and finished with ease.
Plus I'm no longer morbidly obese, but that's a scale victory29 -

There's a colleague who I've begun meeting with after I started my weight loss journey. We meet periodically over meals. Yesterday she said to someone else at the table: "Pass those veggies to her, she loves them"
Who, me??
Then she said to me: "Are you sure you've had enough? You always eat so little"
...Who, me??!
It's so funny to hear how people perceive me now, so differently from how I've been for my whole life. It's almost like they're talking about somebody else.27 -
I was at the gym tonight... the lady on the machine next to me was complaining about the chill... I told her, her body would just have to work harder to make her warm.
Later, she came by, again, still chilly - and said something like - "you warm up faster than me" and I threw out the old standard about having more padding than she had.
She ARGUED with me! I thought she was pretty "normal" sized - not thin or fit - but certainly not huge - and she insisted that she was fatter than I was. It was so weird...

The towel thing finally happened. It's like you don't even realize what your missing until you can do the twist thing and keep the towel on you with your body actually covered while you walk to your room to get dressed.
Like it's odd but this makes me incredibly happy.50 -
I'm looking into registering for the Disney 10K next November. If you told me this a year ago, I would have laughed hysterically.33

Clothing NSV. Shortly before I started losing weight, I bought a button up shirt that I loved the colour of. It was my favourite shirt, but quickly became too big to wear. I tried to buy it in a smaller size, but it was no longer available. I just found one in a thrift shop in my size now. Yay!29

NOT ODD! Definitely a woo-hoo moment! : ) I love the towel thing!4 -
Started the 30 day shred yesterday and could do everything except push-ups (I worked on my planks instead). Not as hard as everyone made it sound! Although jumping jacks make my belly flop up and down15

My husband has always been thinner than me, but this morning, I put on one of his shirts just to see if it fit.... well, I'm still wearing it comfortably!! Won't be long and we'll be the same size!!!!20

Aww, thank you! I'm so happy that I can get my rings on again... can't quite wear them all the time yet, but now that the weather's cooled down and my hands are often cold it's a lot more comfortable! I'm getting there...3 -
This morning I hit Healthy BMI by a hair. Literally!32

I don't really want to call it a victory because it makes me a bit sad; I noticed men are simply kinder. They've been holding doors, saying "ladies first", and all that. 26lbs ago I was invisible, it shouldn't be like that but I guess that's human nature.23

On the upside, you had less chance to get grabbed by the vagina.5 -

Yesterday my boss approached me with, "Hey Skinny-Mini!" She's only known me since my first interview in July (190 lbs). I'm now 160 lbs. But having spent my entire adult life above 200 lbs, I didn't even realize she was talking to me. I told her I still wanted to lose 10-15 lbs and she asked, "from where?!"22
