Which chemicals?
Dihydrogen monoxide
That sounds dangerous!
Highly dangerous! Too much of it can kill you, not enough of it can kill you. omgzzz, teh chemikillz!!!1!!eleventy!4 -

Because some of us know enough about chemistry to know that there aren't any dangerous chemicals in diet soda.14 -
I'm a Pepsi Max/Coke Zero kind of gal. The 'diet' versions taste funky to me. I had a big debate with a workmate who insisted that Coze Zero was just Diet Coke in a different coloured can so it could be "marketed to blokes". Nu-uh!2

I try not to drink much soda. I prefer original coke or Dr. Pepper. Not diet. I may drink 3-4 cans a month. We drink Bai a lot. The carbonated version is very good.0

Did they read the ingredients?0 -
Mello Yellow Zero. Or Diet Sunkist (orange). Or Coke Zero (cherry or vanilla), barring either of those.
Absolutely nothing with sucralose or brominated vegetable oil. That rules out all pepsi products and most store brands. Can't stand the taste of the former and I'm allergic to the latter (soybean).0 -
Cherry Pepsi Max.0

Diet pepsi (new formula) tastes like musty basement to me.
You get it FREE?! I could be saving a fortune! I forsee a petition to my bosses2 -
Diet cola rankings, IMO:
1. Pepsi Max
2. Coke Zero
3. Diet Coke
4. Diet Pepsi (new formula, without Aspartame. Previously switch with #3)

Imo, all of Pepsi's diet products are *kitten*. I always thought that nasty "diet aftertaste" was inherent to all diet drinks. Nope, just Pepsi's entire product line, and Diet Coke.
The entire Zero line of sodas is amazing though. If you can fet your hands on Cranberry Sprite Zero, that stuff is truly amazing.2 -
I miss Cherry pepsi max and cherry coke zero so much0

Neither.
but I never did like sugary/fizzy drinks....0 -

There's lots of us here who are accomplishing our health and weight goals just fine, while drinking diet soda. My latest health screening/bloodwork results are in my profile, and I drink several cans of diet soda a day. Feel free to take a peek and let me know what I'm doing wrong7 -

I miss when gas stations and CVS would sell them

My preference is Pepsi Max or coke zero.
I agree with others that diet coke is bit chemical tasting. But it's ok, I do sometimes drink it.
I don't like other diet drinks like diet lemon because I find all of them chemically tasting too. Whereas I think cola is a stronger taste that masks the chemical taste better.1 -

I hate anything out of a freestyle machine except for cheery vanilla coke.1 -
akindofmagick wrote: »Neither. Consider swearing off soda forever. Diet soda contributes to obesity - even the soda companies know it, which is why two of the biggies spent well over a billion US $$ this week to buy natural soda startups (both founded in 2009). I was a Diet Coke addict for 30+ years, 3-6 cans a day. It was my primary source of "water". Went cold turkey on 1 Jan 2015 and never looked back. And yes, I'm down 75#. Thanks, VSG (June 2015), and thanks, WATER. Real water. Not soda. Never soda, ever again. Unfortunately, I've just been diagnosed with osteopenia... probably due in large part to all that soda I drank.
The misinformation is strong with this one.11 -

Diet Sunkist Orange is excellent.5
