Hi Marie
if you want to start or get back into cycling try Breeze Rides https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/recreation/article/20141110-Breeze-bike-rides-for-women-0
to search for a ride make sure you click women only on the search options - there may well be a facebook page or group for your local area too. We've got a quite active group here where many women have made contacts and often go out on rides together that are not organised. Be warned a coffee and cake stop is often a part of the agenda :-) but once you start getting some miles that is no problem anyway and no-one minds if you don't part-take in the cake eating.
If you struggle getting started or want some advice please don't hesitate to contact me :-)

Hello all i'm 4,1 i'm 4 months in to a total body transformation0
-
I am 40. I am 3 months in my fitness journey and hit a plateau. I'm looking for people to keep each other motivated. I would like to lose 50 pounds, build muscle, and just feel better all around as a lifestyle!1

Its great seeing so many active people here.
Tuesdays are double session days for me. HIIT session with trainer done this morning. Tonight's track workout will be a couple mile warm up, then four miles of fun. Sixteen continuous 400s, alternating back and forth between 5k threshold pace and marathon pace, followed by a mile cool down.
I'm starting to think that training for a winter marathon was not my brightest idea.4 -

Almost 44 here (birthday is at the end of the month), mother of 3 (24, 22, 9, all girls) and as of Sunday night a grandmother of one boy! I've started C25K, planning to take up climbing at a nearby climbing gym in the new year (a friend is already a member there and can show me the ropes - pun totally intended), and I want to climb Snowden next August. :-)4

Good morning middle agers.
Got a 5 1/2 mile run / walk in last night. Tough go as we got a fair bit of snow. It was like running in sand.3 -
48 here feel free for anyone to add me!1

51 here and trying to improve both weightlifting and running, so I don't lose more muscle along with this fat I'm trying to get rid of. Getting over a months-long bout of adhesive capsulitis and am grateful to be able to lift again.1

anyone can add me, I try to burn 1000 calories a day, 7 days a week, doing new and fun activities!0

50, with a junior in high school and a senior in college. Raising them on my own for eight years. I love my kids, wouldn't be here without them. I love lifting, use to powerlift. I recently bench pressed 385, pressed 225 lbs for 30 reps. Incline 345 lbs Saturday, all this after total rotator cuff repair 3 years ago. Add me if you're old(lol) and lift heavy.

Hi all
I'm 45 year old female from belgium be a part of mfp family for a while but always looking for motivated serious friends
Like the name of this post so if you want to add me feel free to do.
I had loss weight 11kg (24 lbs) but the last months I gain almost everything (I had a virus but honestly it was an easy excuse to do no workouts).
So I need friends that give me good kicks under the butt and be honest I can handle that

I'll be 50 in Febuary ! - Feel free to add me ....and a bit about me Just a quick intro . I'm Jon and based in Surrey, UK.
Ex IM athlete when my body fat was below 10% and I looked fit and healthy. Ten years on I still do a bit of running, cycling but my cloths no longer fit me . I decided to 'invest' in a set of bathroom scales today and despite the denial for a long time I realise I am obesed, fat , though I still like to think fairly fit.
So hear I am now writing this and deciding what action plan to take. Would love to hear about your inspiring stories...

Wow, lots of new activity on this thread! Exciting to have so many new friends in my age group. My "go to" exercise/workouts are varied, as I get bored doing the same thing all the time. So I power walk outdoors, or walk/run on the treadmill at home, sometimes do kickboxing, dance and hula-hoop. I don't have a gym membership, but considering it in the Spring to work on toning up after the weight loss. Hopefully, I will be at my goal weight by then. I love having new friends that are active, committed loggers with open diaries, who love to interact.2

I have a similar issue. My final pregnancy was really rough, and then I just never lost the baby weight and then some. Before that I was a hardcore gym rat and very fit--active my whole life. That's what I see in my mind's eye. Even though I've been very overweight for the last seven years, I'm still constantly surprised at how big I am when I catch my reflection or step on the scale.
I'm now on a journey to make the reflection in the mirror match my mental picture of myself.

Mama of 5, 46, and Fluffy... But don't tell anyone! I started out at 23 with what I should have been content with.. several babies and an ex-hubby later and seriously.. I could be the Ghostbusters Stay Puft Marshmallow Wife...Started the LCHF/Keto WOE in October and have lost 39 lbs since 11/1/16! Definitely need support and looking for fellow companions who know that MTV used to play music videos and who know what it's like to poop without a smartphone...
Anyone who fits that description.... ADD ME!6 -
