I did 45 push-ups today. My biggest # till date.
ho.lee wowsers. i have two.
totally failed my first attempt to bench 90 today. i let it come down too fast and then i had nothing to get it up with. so after i'd been rescued from under the bar, i went back to the bench that doesn't have safeties, and took 5 pounds away and re-tried it at 85. i got three reps that way quite easily, just by being steady and disciplined about it. so then i went back and re-tried my 90. i only managed one rep but it was a good one and i was happy with getting the one after doing the extra three and not resting at all. so i feel great. i've been wanting to put 25s on the bar for my bench since forever, and this makes me feel like it's realistic to say i'm within 5 pounds with plenty of room to get there.
and the other victory was my ludicrous squats. i've found a form that feels thoroughly natural, but given my history there's no guarantee that 'natural' also means 'right'. i can feel myself passing parallel with this form and that made me nervous that i was getting depth at the expense of lumbar stability all over again.
so i had mr 500-pound-squats with the perfect, textbook, totally-consistent form watch my lumbar spine like a hawk while i showed it to him. he said he saw nothing at all over a couple of sets. and this is a guy who knows all about my cranky s.i. zone and would tell me immediately if he did see movement. the best part of all was that using this form which is apparently fine, i'm not only stable but apparently already strong. at least 'strong' considering how much time my squats have spent on the flail-and-fail list. i started at 45 and did sets of five with 5-pound increments all the way up to 80 before i started to feel like another 5 pounds would cause me to start to break down.
i also felt like my glutes will be talking to me tomorrow, which is terrific because it'll mean they were active throughout. so i'm a pretty happy puppy today

Completed the first week of C25k!24

My mom had bought me some novelty Blue Q socks last year and I knew just looking at them that they weren't going to fit. I have big feet, size 11 or 12 women's. These socks had a threaded design around the ankle that wouldn't make it over my heel. Well! I put those socks on today and they fit! Not sure if it's my feet, ankles, or both that are smaller, but I am pretty pumped.25

Been feeling pretty despondent recently as I've been put on loads of drugs and still having tests/hospitals visits etc which is messing with my routines, exercise, logging, weight targets and my head, quite frankly, so I've been struggling to find anything positive about life right now.
Until my three year old daughter gave me a hug this morning and announced that she could put both of her arms around me and touch her wrists. This is a major thing, as a year ago not even my husband could do that.
I'm starting to see my weight loss as well; yesterday I spend the most boring day on earth watching my daughter being "pampered" (I'd won a competition and nominated her to have the prize) - personal dresser/make up etc and whilst in the dressing rooms with her I noticed my reflection. I was gobsmacked as I am so much smaller than a year ago - I've gone from a UK 28/30 to a UK 8/10 but I still "felt" really obese up until yesterday. My daughter's personal dresser person asked how much weight I'd lost - I told her and added that I have another 20-30lbs to go to which she exclaimed that I did not need to loose more weight. I do though, as I still have horrible stomach/thigh/leg/bum/arm fat. I look like I'm in the second trimester of pregnancy. That's got to go.
Anyway, after my three-year old's "act of true love" as she puts it (yeah, a Frozen fan) I got dressed feeling more positive and resolved than ever to beat this and to get rid of these last few pounds that are hanging around.
And my new gym opens tomorrow; had a look around on Friday and I'm very excited about getting in there and getting started. Neither the winter or the weather can stop me exercising now as the gym is open 24/7!

Aw, thank you I've been through the mill over the last three months but I am more determined than ever to shift the remaining weight. The consultant is certain that I will be sorted out, it's just a question of time and getting the medication right.
Today is the first day of my future; I have logged everything that I've eaten, been out for a 21-mile bike ride (despite the freezing cold/wind) and loved every second of it (would have been longer but the dark beat me today), refused profiteroles (my all time favourite) at dinner and I am feeling good.
So that's another three NSVs and I am really excited about starting at the gym tomorrow12 -
starting lifting (not sure you can call it that yet lol) last week and signed up to start adult karate tomorrow.16

Just finished week 6 of my Strong Curves workout.16

I went to a Christmas party last night and skipped the made-to-order donuts and fresh apple pies.17

Two years ago, I bought several pairs of the same jeans during a sale (75% off on extremely good quality jeans).
The first one fit just right at that moment (buried those in April... I could take them off without unbuttoning them)
The second one was one size smaller (buried those last week cause same as previous)
The third one yet one more size smaller... I'm wearing them right now and they FIT! I have a little bit of a muffin top, but nothing that losing another 2-3kg won't solve.
It now makes me sad that I didn't buy yet another size down. I simply didn't believe that I would ever make it to the smallest size I had bought. It was that little bit of wishful thinking on my part: that sad little voice in the back of my head trying to tell me 'you can do it' when the majority was saying 'just give up now, you'll always be obese'.
Now that they fit comfortably, I'm looking forward to hitting the January sales to see if I can't find another jeans trilogy to motivate me. (one pair that fits perfectly at that moment and the same in 2 sizes down)28 -
I used to always wear loose fit jeans. Yesterday I bought two pairs of regular fit. Two sizes smaller.33

I used to take the elevator to get up a few flights of stairs. Today I was looking forward to hit the stairs to go 3 storey up. Did so without having to catch my breath. Surprising how much an extra 65 lbs to carry around was thought on the body!25

@Madwife2009 With your mind set, you've already got your goals made, and will be seeing them before you know it. I love a positive attitude in someone as I really believe that's 75% of the battle.
You got this, you really do.1 -

You are....stronger than I2 -
I was able to execute 12 solid P/U's this AM. It took three sets of four each and I also did 15 minutes on the elliptical machine. Not to shabby considering all the crap my body is recovering from.14
