welcome to all the new "middle-agers" good to be so many more checking in - the last two days have been good for me considering the challenges this time of year beings to trying to stay on plan. Ran 6.2 miles yesterday and today and plan to hit it tomorrow. Been sticking pretty close on eating and not over indulging. My weight is holding steady at about 168.5

Add me!!! Everyone! 40 and counting1

Welcome to all the new middle agers posting here.
I must admit to making a large dent in the Christmas cookie inventory at home over the last few days.
Even with marathon training miles burning a bunch of calories, this has to be a short term approach, since I don't think cookies are an approved recovery fuel.4 -
Merry Christmas everyone! Hope that Santa was good to you all.1

hi everyone . please add me ,i am in Londonderry ,Sydney ,Australia . turned 50 last sep and by chinese horoscope , a female fire horse . now it used be tradition for girls to be drowned at birth because they would be highly unlikely to be married off because they were not the most obedient etc , so that should pretty much explain me . i might be getting older but I refuse to grow up . lost 15 kgs 1 yrs ago thanks to mfp and kinda stalled the last so really need to get my head back on the right track AND STAY THERE .Still got at least 30 k before I even get close to where I should be .

Hi!! I'm 43, wife of 21 years and mom of two teenage boys. I need all the support that I can get. My hardest time of day is at night when I'm home and everyone is working or socializing. Please feel free to add me on here and/or Fitbit.

Yup - how is it humanly possible to put on so much weight so quick??? Seriously like 8 pounds in a few days. Has to be a broken scale and NOTHING to do with the cookies, pies, ice cream and alcohol. Grrrrr. To the gym I head3

Just been out and set a new record on the bike, 15.4 miles..bloody knackered now but glad I have done it. This weight is going to go and hard work is the only way to make it so.7

I lost a little over 30 lbs. since starting this journey a couple of years ago. Now it seems like I am struggling to lose but a couple of lbs. and then it goes right back on. I was eating about 1250 cals. a day but have put in a new goal of 1350 to see if that would kick start things in the right direction. I go to the pool and walk it for about an hour (use to be about 5x's a week, not but a couple lately), but with my job I have only made it maybe once or twice a week lately. I work in a grocery store bakery so I am on my feet and walking for 5-6 hours at a shot. Going to start some core exercises today and really hoping that helps and then hit the pool tonight after I get off work.
Any suggestions on what may help would be appreciated. Have a great day everyone!

Good afternoon Middle-agers - hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and ate everything in site as that is what i did. My scale told me to hit the road and go for a run as a result of my weight gain. It is funny how hard it is to lose a few pounds but how easy those pounds go back on. Back on track today as I eliminated most of the holiday treats by eating them - hope everyone has a great day4

Hello, everyone! I managed to lose a half a pound despite not tracking and not working out. Honestly, I really asked myself a lot whether or not any of the bazillion treats we received were worth it. Most of the time I said, "No, thanks."
Today I'm back at it with tracking and exercise! Gotta keep the scale moving in the right direction (and not lose the strength and stamina I've been building with my workouts)!
I hope everyone has had happy holidays!4 -

The treats must go....but we can't waste them! Let's eat them up and hit it hard tomorrow! I've been there......ok, I'm there right now....:-(
Eat them quickly before anyone else gets them and then hit it hard and never look back - got a good chuckle out of your comments - thank you2 -
Ugh a breath away from 45...could use friends near my age too..2

Today is day #4 (ugh!) of family and friends Christmas visits, so there will once again be too much food around.
Good news is that my training group has a full week of fun workouts planned. Yesterday was an indoor bike trainer "race" and today we have a track workout and a swim session. I'm very excited to see how much I can improve next season with the help of my coach.
Now I REALLY need to regain focus on logging and portion control in order to drop weight before racing season. That means the leftover holiday foods must go!5
