Hitting my calories burned target four days in a row13

Got my first "I didn't recognize you!" today from my Dentist... she said she had to look on the chart to see who was in the chair before she came in. I have been going to her office for years...
And got the same from a co-worker I haven't seen in a while when I walked into the office today... She had to ask if it was me... Pretty cool.23 -
Went to trivia last night, after the gyms so I was late, and didn't drink or eat anything (luckily the bartender is a friend!)...I even took my own water bottle so I knew how much water I was drinking.17

Fell asleep on the couch lastnight. It used to be too cramped for me to lay in for a few minutes, last night i slept through the night. There is so much extra space now i can comfortably sleep there, good to know.23

The amazing expanding couch. I've got one of those too!
It shrunk for my dad and got sooooooo much bigger for me. Amazing isn't it?9 -
Got our bloodwork back. I was diagnosed with a fatty liver. In a month with just diet changes my AST/ALT have dropped considerably. One was over 50 points in a month's time! My partner went into DKA last month and got us both looking at our diet. He's always been good about managing his bloodsugars - but pizza when we didn't feel like cooking wasn't helping. His A1C went from 12.9 to 7.7 in one month! The doctor was even floored!22

The loose skin on my inner thighs appears to have tightened up a bit. This may, or may not, be due to strength training (I've only noticed this since starting).
Also, flabby underarm "bat wings" are improving.
Happy days . . . .46 -
>Getting ready at the gym was quite stressful so I am really hoping that I can sort out the logistics and keep going. Surely it gets easier?
Not really, IMO. I find it very stressful. Always forgetting something. And then there's the general "cleanliness of the gym" concept... rarely are they to my standards, when considering how many people's alien germs are in there, day in and day out... I find if I have a gym that's between work and home, I use it. Otherwise, I waste $$$ on membership.4 -
So my dad the nag and my biggest critic just complimented me by saying my body has finally come into shape and I am looking a little less chubby and that now I only need to work on flattening my belly. Its been too long since I heard something positive about my body from my dad.19

What does NSV Mean? sorry I don't know0

Non Scale Victory. Something other than the number on the scale. Like I finished week 3 of C25K this morning and did not feel winded, despite doing it every day this week.
Feels better than reporting the scale went up a 1/2 lb.14 -
I went clothes shopping and fit comfortably in the next size down. Which is good because I needed thermal underwear and the next size down was the largest size they carried. I didn't need to make a special trip to the big women's store.21

Was able to up the weight on all but one machine on my circuit this morning13

Moved from obese to "overweight"! When I started this journey in March 2016, I was morbidly obese...good feeling. Also, have run out of clothes...gotta hit the Goodwill.40

That makes me so sad. Reminds me of when I lost weight the first time around, my stepmother looked at a snack I was eating after dinner and said something like, "If you keep eating like that you'll just get as big as a house again." Uhhh... Thank you?7 -

Someone in my masters program noticed my weight loss and was very impressed and said I was inspiring!19

2) Despite the appalling weather recently, I have been out on my bike every day for the last nine days (I've missed just three days this year so far). Now, that's not bad considering that I've been out in wind, rain, snow, hail and the freezing cold. Sometimes a combination of more than one type of weather. Today's run was 23 miles and by the time I got home I was so cold that I could not undo the clip to remove my cycling helmet. Had to ask for help from my wonderful husband who just grinned at me. He (and my children) all think that I'm crazy but they are all SO supportive My husband's only comment was that wouldn't I do better to do some stationary cycling at the gym. Possibly, but outdoors cycling is SUCH fun, despite getting home completely frozen and feeling like Olaf. No wonder he longs for summer!
3) I have worn out the rear brake pads on my poor bike. I only use the rear brakes (I find it safer than using the front ones) and they are down to the metal, there's no pad left. Ooops. But the poor thing has done approximately 2500 miles since the middle of September. I totally my bike.
Go madwife!

Getting ready at the gym was quite stressful so I am really hoping that I can sort out the logistics and keep going. Surely it gets easier?
For me, it did. I keep separate toiletries in my gym bag so I don't have to pack toiletries every day. Clothes I pack at night or in the morning and I just run through the list - underwear, bra, shoes, pants, shirt, etc. I leave early enough that I have x amount of minutes to get ready after my work out and I do not work out past x time because I know I need x amount of minutes to get ready for work.
It becomes routine.11
