Regarding Olive Garden nutrition: Go to Olive Garden.com. There is a nutrition link. Nutrition | Olive Garden Italian Restaurants
I printed this and have it available to use whenever we are planning to eat there because I like to plan ahead. It includes calorie information and also nutritional contents for those of us with food allergies & sensitivities. You can also ask for this information when you arrive at the restaurant.1 -
Jana ~ I hated making plans for subs. I feel for all the work you are doing.

Happy Saturday. Started the day after a 12 hour fast to have lab/blood draw, had to wait over an hour to get seen, wow I was ready to cry from being so hungry
I am feeling productive:
lab work done
Taxes in to the accountant
Workout done
Lentil cooking on the stove
bathroom cleanup begins
Take care everyone. NYKAREN

Allie ~ I hope you didn't put your pay check in the joint account.0

Made brownies for Vince to have when we get back from FL. Then made chocolate cookies to take with us.
Went to WalMart and they were selling Girl Scout cookies outside the store. I know if Vince had been with me, he would have bought some. But I didn't (sorry Rori) because he has enough that he should finish before we go to FL
Lenora - You can drink too much water. But I think it's something like 300oz. I routinely have over 100oz/day

Ginger -- love the photos of your mom! She's one special lady - happy birthday to her and hopefully many more to come. Are there any grandchildren/great-grands she's able to spend time with? Some of my best memories are of my dear grandmother who lived next door to us when I was a child...actually the next farm over from us. Fun to walk to the grandparents and spend an afternoon...she dropped her chores (or let us help) and was always glad to entertain us. A blessing for both of us!
Katla, we too have an "egg lady" -- their hens starting laying a month or so ago which is early... we go through a lot of eggs and it's nice to get some fresh from the farm - I swear the yolks stand up 1/2 inch high. I miss having hens.
Karen, hoping you and your partner have a safe journey and a good trip. Hope Olivia is holding her own.
Love the kitty stories..... I think they DO have nine lives. I know we too have had some (and old dogs too) who've been in sad shape...just when we'd get ready to "make the appointment" they'd rally. Bless their hearts. Guess they thought we needed them around for a while longer.
Teachers, you are my hero's... I think it's a tougher job all the time. I admire folks who have the heart to lead these little ones.
Well, DH and I have our 40th anniversary tomorrow. Not doing anything special. As I look back, it's been quite an adventure. Marriage for us has been many stages... and I think we are now in the "caretaker" stage. We are doing our best to encourage each other to be as healthy as possible and are more willing to take each other's advice - actually depend on each other's input before we make a decision. When we both worked long hours, seems we were sometimes strangers living in the same house.
Allie, hoping you and Tom are able to see a counselor, that may help if you both are determined to make it work. I understand why churches often have "couples retreats" - if they are done well, many problems can be headed off at the pass if both are willing to work toward a common goal.
But going down that counseling route is sometimes painful. Heartfelt good wishes going your way!
Warm springy weather coming this week! The flood waters are receding.... happy Saturday everyone!

Mars, the leash-loving, four legged alarm, also works hard everyday as a paperweight in my home office.
Happy Saturday! I'm working on business and vacation travel plans.
Lisa: Looks like I have to cancel the trip to Alpine. My uber-boss has assigned to attend an event in Oklahoma City. Janetr? Are you around week of Feb. 27?
So excited. This October I'm going on my first ever 'girlfriends only' vacation. My two NY-based friends are heading to Italy. I'll catch up with them after I finish a conference. On way back, I'll spend a couple days in London. My first ever trip to Europe. Using points and miles for most of the itinerary. All those hours and days in coach seats and mediocre business hotels finally paying off.

Rori - sorry to miss you, but hope JanetR gets a chance to see you...
Loved the UK, lived there for nearly six years, and didn't take near enough advantage of being in Europe to see other countries, only Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg. Then again, was young, and broke! Girlfriend-only vacations are kinda awesome. Totally different vibe than family or couple time off together.
Lazy day today, mini-shopping trip to Wally World, and back at the warehouse. Hubby's tucked up with a book, and I will be shortly.
Love y'all,

Penny! Penny! Penny!
Rori and I hope to fix up a meeting in London in October. It's a long way ahead so anything could happen, but we are aiming to do something together.

Jana in VA - Boy the person who was handling your license renewal was just the cream of the crop. Now a days I carry my passport to state offices where they are likely to request proof of birth/citizenship and have found most of them when given a passport get quiet and just process the papers with no further comment.
Rori - Mars is so cute! Glad to see him hard at work given the wind we have had for the past 3 days. And dog people just don't get how much we value our paperweights.

Cold bright and sunny here in Alaska :-) Its a balmy -3F this morning but supposed to be warming up to 35 by wednesday. Everything looks shiny and bright with the snowfall from last night. They announced the Iditarod restart will take place in Fairbanks this year due to the lack of snow in some areas. The last few years, that has become a problem - still - more snow this year than last. They do a big whoop-de-doo start here in Anchorage. They bring in snow and fill up one of the main streets downtown to film the start of this famous dog-sled race, interview the mushers and meet-and-greet the wonderful happy athletic husky mixes.
Yoga and stretching this morning - Sansone walking tonight b4 dinner. If my back cooperates.
Hubby is cooking up some homemade sausage mcmuffins this morning. Last night I gave him his Valentine;s day present early - his new slow-cooker (since he threw out the old crock pot). We’re looking over recipes now to try and decide what to do first. Its super light weight compared to the old porcelain crock pot - and I can use it for potlucks at work (it comes with a built in handle and locking lid so nothing spills and it’s easy to transport. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DUK0UYC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Ever get a really stupid song stuck in your head for days? For some reason this week, on wednesday I got talking to my coworkers about a nonsense song we sang as kids at camp - I think its a Girl Guide or Scout song - Ging Gang Gooley Gooley Watchta, Ging Gang Goo, Ging Gang Goo .. I’ve tried playing other music but its refusing to desert me - go awayyyyyyy!

TEACHERs and NURSES - we love and respect you !!!
Cats - never had one but always like them. We did bunnies. My last two were Parsley and Sage. I had them for 8 years in my apartment. They would run to the front of their cage to give me kisses when I got home from work then they would race around the apartment until bedtime. They were so lovely and quiet, remarkably affectionate and easy to clean up after.
Jana - sinus infections suck - so painful and your head does not feel like your own - hate’em. Glad you liked the moose and have a great trip to FL with your mum.
Toni - good restful sleep is the best tmt for my back :-) I hope you have a great weekend - despite the basketball ;-) love that Shirley gives Eskimo Kisses!
Lenora - so sorry to hear about your assault. I managed to fight my way out of an attack when I was 25 (mum taught me if anyone ever attacked me to fight back hard enough to either put them in the hospital or the ground). The a-hole who attacked me damaged my right breast so badly that it has never stopped hurting. Can’t sleep on my right side, my pets can’t lean against it to cuddle up, etc. Luckily I have a good specialist who keeps an eye on it. Hugs are
painful but I would never give them up. It took years to come to terms with it. I always thought it was my fault some how - did I look at him wrong - did I do or say something to provoke him?
Joyce - gutter cleaning - my hubby Scott has his own handyman business and he regularly goes out to clean customers gutters. He’s been through many clients who insisted on gutter guards (and he explained the problems that go along with them) pros and cons. They have paid big $$$ to get them installed, only to experience problems with them - primarily ice damming, clogging and causing water damage inside the house. A good handyman will charge less than $75/hr and can likely clean your gutters in less than 2 hrs.
Tailwagger - hope your spinning class went well today
Carol - your shopping trip sounds like fun and the sandwich delicious!
Yinka - thanks for the Yoga reference - will check it out tomorrow :-)
KeriA - aquafit sounds like fun - with hubby too - excellent!
Pit - I hope your cheekbone pain clears up and is not a toothy issue
Kristina - welcome - great shirt!
Allie - can’t imagine the level of stress and agro with your DH, my heart goes out to you - hang in there
Newbies - Teka - welcome!
Karen VA - safe travels to you and your partner - I hope the wee baby girl gets much better soon.
Katla - great Deadwood quote! Enjoy your riding lesson - gosh I do love horses. Thanks for the Olive Garden info.
NYKaren - definitely productive ! .. and Morocco?! You lucky girl .. a friend went there on her honeymoon and told me her hubby could have sold her 100x (they get very excited about blondes)!!! LOL you will love it!
Becca - so sweet of your hubby wanting to bring you along to pizza buffet
Lanette - Happy 40th Anniversary!!! .. that’s quite an adventure .. good for you!!! :-)
Rori - great looking kitty! Errr.. ummm paperweight! LOL love it. Your upcoming vaca to Italy with the girls sounds fabulous!!

Lillian - good golf work out!
Ginger - your mum looks terrific!!! Cherish her!!! :-)
I only went back a few pages - so sorry if I missed anyone. Welcome everyone new and old. Hearts and hugs going out to all who are hurting, in pain, experiencing stress or loss. Love to all and have a great weekend!!!
My word for 2017 is “Mindfulness” .. age 52, -32 lbs lost, 50 to go! 1200 cal/day avg.

Re, oh lordy.. OK my brain went to the movie ,"History of the World part 1" with Mel Brooks. Madeline Kahn is choosing, saying "Yes, no, no, no, no, yes. ......then on a high note YES".... I know Mel Brook humor is a bit off but...that's me!
Wouldn't it be wonderful to live in a money free society, just using the barter system? OK I shall trade you some of my fine tomatoes for some of your beautiful eggs. *long sigh*

Lanette: Happy 40th Anniversary!
Rori: I love the photo of the hard working Mars doing his best to keep papers from blowing away. Congratulations on your planned vacation to Europe with friends. You've earned it many times over.
I have happy news today. DH is doing very well following surgery. Yay! I also had a lovely riding lesson today and made arrangements with the owner of the horse I ride to come in and practice on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays. I need to call and confirm each time so that we're sure someone will be around in case of trouble. It seems like a sensible agreement to me and I feel very lucky.
We're still waiting for the egg lady's delivery but it is still early afternoon here so there is plenty of time.

Marni I made this tomato sauce in my slow cooker today. I like it because it uses things I always have and is very simple. I tripled the recipe and it made 3 jars of approximately 3 cups each. Best of all, it is delicious: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/58854/slow-cooker-tomato-sauce/
