This. And all the clothes iv been buying have changed i always used to wear the same things just in different colors and now i have so many different outfits of different cuts and fabrics its interesting.14 -

THIS! and it's like every time I go shopping I find something new like some kind of new fabric or cut that I like!9 -
Agree with lots of these (and LOVE reading them). I've lost 26 lbs since June 2016, and at 5ft 1in tall, I would like to lose at least 10 more; however, I have received so many compliments from friends and family - for the most part it is good. Hubby actually hasn't said much about it, but he has known me to be up and down. He has said "Good for you babe." HOWEVER, (maybe TMI), our physical relationship has gotten better/more frequent. It's in what he doesn't have to say - it's in how he looks at me. The confidence I have in myself is attractive. It's flattering to get compliments from strangers, but I absolutely love that my hubby and I are still going strong after 13 years together. Ha cha cha! AND, I've motivated him to get into shape too!34

Where I'm spending more money is on things for running. $200 for a frikken pair of shoes because the $25 Wal-Mart ones aren't good enough. Socks that don't give me blisters are $15 a pair. And I haven't even got off the treadmill and into the real world yet.
And I won't go into the tech toys I've bought because I "needed" them for running. Good thing my weight is dropping off or my wife might be pissed.
Plus I want a new treadmill.40 -
Well I've only lost 9lbs since December but I can say my knees and back hurt much less now!!! Still haven't dropped a size down but I'm trying to be patient So happy for the ones who have met their goals and are continuing to strive!23

so true, that cliche that all you need to run are a pair of shoes may be true but doesn't really consider the GPS watch, tights, wicking top, Hyper Thermal hoodie and cushioned socks. At least I haven't got a premium Strava subscription....yet.15 -

I've just ordered a dress online in a lovely shade of yellow. Cut really tight across the hips and a décolleté to make any male slobber (I sometimes do like my twin arguments). I never would have even considered something like this even a few months ago.
Now my biggest problems are my shoes. I've gone from a 42/43 wide (12-13W in the US I think) to a 41/42 NARROW (somewhere between 10 and 11 US?). None of my shoes fit right anymore. I slip and slide around in them, making my feet hurt. So I've been walking around in a pair of converse (with a bit of cotton stuffed in the toes to prevent the sliding) and gym shoes I can lace tight for the past 3 weeks. I find it really odd that the length of my foot has also seems to have gone down (My toes used to be at just the right spot in the gym shoes, and they're now a good 1cm back from that spot). It's a bit annoying as I have some really nice leather boots that I can pretty much trash now.
And it's freaking expensive. There's no way I can replace all the shoes. So I'll just get a boring basic black shoe for work, one pair for the gym and one pair for casual (I'm thinking a basic high-heel in a neutral color to fit with the pretty dresses I've been buying...). Just adding all of that together is making my head spin... Can't even order online as I have no freaking idea what size I really need now (and I hate the hassle of sending back a million pairs).8 -
^^^ so true! the length of my foot hasn't changed a ton. maybe half a size so I can still wear most of my shoes. the problem is my feet are much narrower and most of my shoes are stretched too wide now!!!!
I'm trying to deal with it by season. next winter I will definitely need all new boots.6 -
After weight loss and building muscle in your arms, it becomes extremely difficult to shave your arm pits. I never had this problem when I was skinny, but I didn't have muscle then. Insurance should pay for laser hair removal on my arm pits since I'm fit and healthy! Lol!11

I have had a lot of luck finding shoes at thrift shops. Granted there are lots that are in rough shape and you have to take the time to sort through everything, but I've found excellent quality shoes and boots in never-worn condition.0 -
Nobody told me that my slimmer body would get more critique than my bigger body.
People saying that cup A-E are "no real boobs" and that slimmer women aren't "real women". Lifting is for lesbians and muscles on a woman is manly.
I used to get more confident as I was losing more weight. Now I am getting insecure.
Geez. You need to get other people to talk to. Supportive, positive people. None of that is true.14 -

It becomes habitual. I got to my "goal" weight and thought yay I can eat more now. And then realised I didn't want to.
I just wasn't hungry, and I had far better things to do than eating to amuse myself or keep my hands busy. I maintain on a couple of hundred calories more than I lost on, and I'm still getting smaller. Thanks to shrinking skin and my gym, I'm exactly the same weight as I was a year ago but two sizes smaller.22 -
It costs a fortune in clothes and alterations trying to keep up with the weight loss. When you have to look smart for work it's no joke.
You suddenly realise how many people judge you on what you look like, makes you wonder how much time they spend staring at your body rather than your face.18 -

Lol this is so real! Before exercising regularly, I had one pair of sneakers. Now I have two pairs of Brooks running shoes, merrills jungle mocs, and my beloved keen hiking boots. Not to mention the fitbit, wireless headphones, camelbak, hand weights, tennis rackets, snowshoes, yoga blocks....
My being on MFP got my (skinny) husband into body-weight fitness, so now we have a pull-up bar, gymnast rings, and a dip bar in our 1 bedroom apartment. None of which I am strong enough to use yet! lol. The spending urge is real. But so far I have succeeded in only buying things I will actually use.11 -

I hadn't had candy corn in several years at we don't have it here and I went to the US around Halloween. I bought a small bag of candy corn and found it tasted like plastic to me. It was terrible and I used to really like it.

That it takes a while for your brain to recognize the change.
So true about the brain recognizing the changes taking time because even through I have been in the 10st weight range since September last year it was not until January this year that my brain had to started to notice that all of the hard work I have been doing has started to pay off even if sometimes when I don't lose or I gain a little my brain goes back to thinking I am that obese pre-teen/teenager/young adult and then I have to work hard to get my mind back to like what it sees.
