Hi All, I've put on over 70 pounds in the last year. I had a foot reconstruction and tendon repair. Also lost my sister and brother within a year. Which made it worse for me to just eat everything I wanted to and feel sorry for myself. I'm 62 and finally woke up and on my way to getting me together. I've been doing pretty good so far. I was 256 lbs a couple of weeks ago, now I'm afraid to check again for fear of disappointment. This is the first time ever I've stuck to exercise and watching what I'm eating. Hope we can motivate each other! Thanks

My goal last week was to reach 1.5 bowling balls of weight loss. I weighed-In this morning at 1.6 BBs :D or 24 lbs from my starting weight. This was a disciplined week for me. Everything I ate was clean and unprocessed. Also I stuck mostly to meals and avoided snacks.

On Monday I get rid of the sling I’ve been wearing for the last six weeks for my shoulder surgery recovery. Tuesday begins my shoulder therapy exercises. My hope is that adding exercise to my clean eating will keep me on a losing streak
    .

Fun! My goal is to lean down 30 lb by June 16, so let's do this! Is there a way to create a group for this beyond this thread? I'm a former pro athlete / physique competitor / trainer and nutritionist, so perhaps I can lend any tips I've learned in return for this motivation boost! I've had many injuries and surgeries which led to me getting out of fighting shape, ready to get back! I'm a 43yo woman, let's DO THIS!

Ok Bizgirl you've lost over 20lbs from you SW. There's got to be more to say than just the stats. Assuming your SW was at the beginning of the year that is an incredible achievement ;) . You are a "Rock Star"!!!!

Goal weight: 209 lbs by 6/15
    Current weight: 210.8
    weight loss to date: 28.2
Weight loss method: low fat, low sugar, low calorie, logging everything I eat.... and TRYING to lay off the alcohol.

Another 2.7 pounds gone! Less than two pounds before I hit that 30 pound mark!

I've been crazy busy lately, with the end of basketball season, the beginning of baseball season, and right in the middle of girl scout cookie season. I am once again shocked that I didn't gain. But I didn't, I'm still chugging along! I was able to zip up my Lucky jeans today for the first time in years! And MAYBE I'll be ready when swimsuit season arrives!

    Have a great week!

Yes this is the weight I have lost from the start of this challenge. I have lost 42 pounds since I rejoined MFP in November . It has slowed down a lot. Currently MFP calorie goal is set to 1480 ( sometimes doable sometimes not so much) and I work out 6 days a week :) I am really determined and in the right mind set this time

So, I'm new to this app in the social sense. Can we add each other as friends to track progress?

I'm feeling good, consistent with cardio and diet last 11 days and starting to feel like my old self! I have to ease back into weights, and adding reformer Pilates back in the mix too. Finally going slow enough to not get another injury, knock on wood!

Thought I'd share a tip from bodybuilding prep days: do your cardio first thing on an empty stomach. Coffee or a caffeine tablet and one aspirin (as long as those things are ok w your Dr. - those on blood thinners can't take aspirin obviously, and those who have diabetes may need a physician's guidance) will enhance fat burning, and going on an empty stomach takes advantage of your fasting state when your glycogen stores are low. This was always my first line of attack in competition prep! A neoprene waist trainer can help too - the water loss seems psychological, but the effects of skin tightening thru temp water loss can help shrink skin as we shrink.

I'm down 1.5 lb in 11 days... a slow start, but progress none the less. Some of us are like that - you'll either hold or gain weight when starting due to muscle increase from new workout requirements... don't get frustrated! I have to remind myself of this when my naturally lean husband can drop 9 lb in 3 days...

Hello there! My name is Michelle. I am a 42 year old married lady who watched too much Netflix. I would love to lose 30 pounds by June 30th. This will be an aggressive goal for me, but I will try my best. I have already taken a good look at my macros and adjusted them based on my goals (high protein low carb). I will mostly be focusing on diet. I have a sit down job and not much time to work out. I have started going to crossfit 2 days a week. I am trying to stay under 1500 calories per day. I will weigh in every Thursday. Good luck everyone! We can do this together!

    Challenge SW: 12/29/16: 216.0

GW: approx. 157.0 (based on initial goal body fat of 23%)
    UGW: 18-19.5% body fat

Weight loss method: Weighing, measuring and logging all food. Ensuring I have enough protein and good fats for satiety. Kettlebell and lifting workouts. My goal is 122g of protein each day and 25g of fiber. Workouts consisting of kettlebells and lifting. I also try to incorporate HIIT and Tabata as well.

I'm going to use yesterday's weight. I've been up since 3:45 a.m. and I've already eaten, so weighing myself now isn't going to give a good result. My weight has been steadily moving down. I'm pleasantly surprised! I know at some point soon, things will greatly slow down.

    3/9/2017 198.2, -3.0
    3/15/2017 196.6 -1.6

Challenge Loss: -19.4 (65% of the way there and 10.6 to go!).

This past week's challenge: There is a lot going on with my kids and my husband is still traveling a couple of days per week.

This past week's successes: Solid logging and average daily deficit of approx 600 cal. I've kept my protein intake up (avg. of 129g per day) and I've done a variety of workouts.

My upcoming week: Things with my kids are getting incredibly busy and sometimes overwhelming. Feels like Groundhog Day. :(

Keep up the great work everyone!

Okay I decided to do a history since I got serious in December . I joined MFP in Nov @ 254 but didn't really track progress until December
    Dec 13th-241
    Dec 20th 239.7
    Dec 22nd-237.4
    Dec 29th-233
    Jan 10th-232

    Jan 26th -222.6
    Feb 10th- 219.7
    Feb 16th -217.2
    Feb 23rd- 214
    Mar 9th - 211.8
    Today 209.2

Looking forward to Onederland . Almost 45 pounds since November . Cant remember when I started the challenge exactly but I think I took my first January weight of 232 so that puts my loss at 22.8 pounds this challenge so far

A bit behind my weekly goal, but one pound a week is nothing to be ashamed of. I plan to sneak in a couple more workouts during the week. That will get me back on track. I am doing well with IIFYM. I am happy with the volume of healthy foods I have been eating. Finally, a diet where I don't have to starve myself! I bought a IIFYM cookbook for Kindle with some tasty high protein recipes in it that I am excited to try.
