What nobody tells you about losing weight

I'll probably never catch up to all of these (although I make a good dent!) but I have just found something out I wasn't expecting... I needed to reduce the width of my glasses after losing 50* pounds! (*some of that was before I started MFP) My face was no longer wide enough and they looked like clown glasses!
In fact the width that best fits my face hardly exists for adult frames at the place where i go, I had to shop the children's frames!27 -
That it really does get easier the more you learn and log!20

Getting noticed more. Getting hit on more, made me think how shallow people are. When i was 15 kilos more, you didn't even see me. Now you suddenly care ? Im same person
I agree. I've been getting more attention than usual. You know I've only lost 15 pounds out of 40 lbs. I'm still in the overweight category. I just ignore them and keep it moving. I only associate myself with people who are not obsessed with looks and weight.14 -

You look phenomenal! That extra skin will begin to "snap back" over time, I'm sure! Many of us went through having the "extra skin hang" when bending forward... time, patience, and weight lifting will offer an even better appearance soon! :-)
forgot i posted this looked back to see whats been said since last visit and just choked on my beer it came out my nose omg im dieing. LOL atleast i look pregnant right now vs saggy, Ate a big huge meal and it was super yummy and even if i track it as 1400 calories ( burger and steak cut fries) im stilll -500 calories so yay me.
but on that note anyone else notice how "food babies" are actually much worse now, It felt it before, Now i legit look pregnant when i eat to much XD10 -
I find mindful eating works for me. I try not to watch TV or look at my phone/iPad whilst I'm eating. It's amazing how much I could shovel down because I wasn't thinking about it. I enjoy every mouthful and I feel fuller quicker21

This food baby thing: I feel like I don't even have to eat "too much." After a normal meal (and I think most people would say I'm not a "big eater" at all now), I look like a toddler. I can feel my belly sticking out. Clothes feel fine but ... what weird thing is going on with my middle?!10 -
That you will become uncoordinated after losing a lot of weight since your center of gravity is off. I'm not used to how small I am, and I keep tripping and almost falling off of things. My husband is the one who pointed it out and now I can't stop noticing. Hooray for being even more awkward!25

yeah this XD even just a small plate of food can make me pregnant lol4 -
One day I looked at my legs and realized I was sitting cross legged. It had been so many years since I could do that. I don't take for granted being able to move the way I want24

Two newest ones for me:
Going to AMC theaters and ordering the popcorn combo just to barely be able to eat 30% of the bag.
Pants was somewhat falling off since my belt wasn't tight enough. I was trying to go up another notch just to realize there wasn't any more left. Had to go look for a knife to make a new one in an emergency21 -
I know it's been mentioned already a few times but I'm going to say it again. NO ONE warned me how uncomfortable sitting could be. I have bones that stick out from my back and butt and suddenly really appreciate plush soft seating, I no longer come pre-equipped with my own.27

Omg! Food babies are so real now! Yesterday I had a big dinner and then went for a walk and the whole time I was like "I feel pregnant" and then I got home and was like "yup I even look a little preggo"12 -
More like What Everyone Told Me But I Didn't Believe:
The mirror, the photos, the measuring tape, the clothes, the scale and your brain will all team up to play tricks on you sometimes. Ignore it all! Stay in your deficit, weigh everything, track and plan religiously, and be patient. SO patient. Simple biology says it will work eventually!
Then, suddenly, you're almost to your goal and you somehow wonder what took so long and how it happened so fast simultaneously. And yet, you still don't feel as confident as you thought you would.
And THEN you'll discover that you can DO things! Even though I run miles at a time during my workouts, I still believed that playing tag with the kids would be difficult and painful... until I tried it one day. And, let me just say, those kids didn't stand a chance!51 -
that my bones would be so much closer to tje surface12

That thanks to vanity sizing, at 170 lbs I am already starting to buy smalls. I went shopping for a target outfit (something I'd have to lose more weight to get into) and I couldn't. In several items (different brands) the smalls I tried on (I've been buying mediums for a while now) already fit. I have 20# more to go, but I am reluctant to buy anything XS. I am curvy in a good way, and I'm not sure I will ever get into an XS, at least not at 148#. I shouldn't be in a small; it just doesn't seem correct - the manufacturers are ignoring the real meaning of these words now.21

lol, everyone should have a 'leather hole punch' in their toolbox, especially dieters.17 -
Guys. Guys. Guys.
All you need is a waste block of wood, a hammer and a nail set.

I've added about 8 holes to one belt before giving up on it and am ready to put a new hole in a new belt.19 -

I have this. Hubs and I are both losing weight, and it's been very useful.6 -
I can reach all parts of my back when I shower and I don't snore anymore:)20

I've noticed I'm preprogrammed to head to the plus size sections. I'd been plus size for close to 15 years!
I automatically head that way even though I'm in the regular sizes now. It seems strange (and wonderful) to be paying less for the same clothes. I had to exchange a couple things from plus size down to to regular sizes and got money back.9 -
i have this one as well. bought it dirt cheap and it does a great job.
Nobody told me i would have a hard time maintaining my weight because i am not eating enough. I keep losing, even though i stopped trying to.Figuring out maintenance calories is hard, while trying at the same time not to gain weight.
I will be checking my thyroid levels next week just to make sure my medication dosage doesn't need to be lowered. In the meantime, i'll be eating more i guess.7 -
For me the more weight I lose the more self conscious I get. Clothes I used to wear all the time would show "rolls" or "pudges", now I am extremely worried about these type - I feel like I'm judged harder since people know I'm trying to work this extra weight off and therefore I want to be sure to look my best. I *DO* look a ton better but it is hard on me mentally.15

Mine is both cheaper and easier6 -

Yesterday i went to a store to buy cheap spaghetti strap shirts in a size small because they were cheap andd one of the rare things that fit me well. Even knowing i was going for a size smalll tiny shirt, I realized i was wandering the plus sized clothes LOL9 -

Yep, I find this happening a lot lately. I'm thinking about trying yoga and/or barre class to help with my balance especially since I've started can-can dancing and I now actually need to have some coordination.10
