In our last (JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS) Round 2, we began to see some significant changes in weight loss and logged the good with the not so good days! We are learning every day what works and what doesn't on this journey! It's so great to have short term goals and to break up our long term goals in smaller increments so it doesn't always seem so overwhelming. So Starting on May 3 to May 12 JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS, will begin Round 3! -Lets see what we can do! Anyone else game?
Weigh yourself? Controversial you may say? Well for me personally, checking the scale can be motivating. I read in a study of 3,500 people who maintained 60 or more pounds of weight loss for at least a year, researchers from the National Weight Control Registry found that 44 percent weighed themselves every day. Another study in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine found that overweight people are six times more likely to lose weight if they weigh themselves at least once a day. I don't about you, but it helps me and motivates me to keep going or to tweak what I did the day before. I never weigh more than just once in the morning. Our weight fluctuates constantly throughout the day with what we drink and consume, so only make it a 'once a day' rule for sanity sake.
Let's give it our best 10 days ever for an inspirational jump start to Spring and Summer!
Here is what to do: Post your daily weight and little comments along the way of how your day went. Post everyday to let us know how you're doing! Copy and paste the days in your response--tell us how much you lost and other non scale victories you'd like to share.

Of course I'll do this again . Let's see if I can kick this sucker into high gear over the next ten days. Goal is at least 7# in 10. No more Sunday binges ! Tomorrow may not be great, as it feels like I'm holding water from drinking a lot after activities and eating

I'd like to join! Love the idea of a short term goal on the road to the long term ones! I have a 7 week old baby so ready to start shifting the weight.

It's a little bit crazy. Was under my calorie goal. May be too much sodium.

Good morning All! Yay, our first day on Round 3! All the best everyone! When I look back at all of the rounds previous, it has been obvious that I have be on a plateau, so I'm hoping for more budges in this round! End of ROUND 1 @ 142...End of ROUND 2 @ 142.

05/03: 140.9 Finally the plateau has been demolished! Just goes to show slow, sure and steady wins the race!3 -
Encouraging Word....
As I said in the start...Weighing yourself everyday may be a bit controversial, but I love that it motivates me for the day ahead! I am tweaking always and many times I have found 'calories in verses calories out' really does matters. Fitness pal is great for this because you can keep track of the calories you burn verses what you consume. Reread the studies I found above in my opening statements of this discussion on weighing yourself everyday! Remember slow and steady wins the race. Have a great day!1 -
I need this! Desperately need to get back to the habit of tracking everything and staying focused. I had slacked off so badly and the scale showed it. I hope this keeps me disciplined.

@cchenyoung ...So glad you're here! It's a small community, but it's been very inspirational to see how everyone is doing daily! Logging meals, working out, and weighing is time consuming but it's worth it when you look back after some time to see just how far you have come! All the best.
