Most people don't know the difference so I just say anime.

Yeah.. I know that one. They assume that all anime is sexual in nature. I gave up trying to explain the difference a looooooong time ago.
Try being in charge of a college anime club. Every other club thinks all you do is get together and watch porn in a dark room with a bunch of dudes.0 -

Not the only one clearly from the responses. Anime is so diverse it helps to know your interests, but here are a few maybe you haven't seen yet.
Angel Beats, Assassination Classroom, Deadman Wonderland, Durarara, Elfen Lied, I really enjoyed Erased, Ergo Proxy, Food Wars, Gurren Lagann, Haganai, Hamatora, Hellsing Ultimate, High School DxD, Jormungand, KK, Log Horizon, No Game No Life, One Punch Man, Parasyte, Psycho Pass, Bungo Stray Dogs, Spice and Wolf, Welcome to the NHK, Ushio and Tora, Your Lie in April
Hope this isn't too much to take in at once, but if you haven't watched them all yet there is enough variety in here whatever your interest you will find something. Also, Crunchyroll is your friend if you stream.0 -

Most of his stuff has a depressing quality about it. Interstella was nice in the fact that it was a giant extended music video for an entire album that Daft Punk put out, but it still had some "down" moments.
Keeping up with anime .gifs since I never get to use them anywhere else on the site (they don't fit in with the discussion):

Ergo Proxy is on my long list of anime that I plan on eventually getting around to watching. No Game No Life was amazing, I need to re watch that at some point.0 -

Ha ha, love Gurren Lagann. Probably too much. I second One Punch Man, Spice and Wolf and Welcome to the NHK, and Your Lie in April (although I dislike it when an anime makes me cry).

Welcome to the NHK...a well-done anime about the hikikomori culture. I know people like that, actually...0

Has anyone here seen the movie Redline? If not, you should. It's super shiny and has a great story.
