Troll threads...some I find really funny and get all caught up in, it's exciting and fun.

Others I feel naive after posting in, almost betrayed, like I was trying to help you out and you are just taking advantage of my time and good nature.

Oh well! Nature of the beast I suppose!

It's happened to me many times. Even times where I've been around long enough I should've known better.

This is the reason some members seem suspicious or cold towards newcomers. But you shouldn't ever resent the fact that you're a nice person who was trying to help someone out.

    Thank-you for saying that.
I feel resentful when people make a mockery of personal tragedy, thinking of them laughing at (us) when we have empathy for their situation.
I do appreciate it when other members realize it for what it is and call them out, hopefully before I've wasted any time!

Why harbor negative emotion towards them (resentment)? They had their own reasons for seeking joy or amusement that way, whether you know or understand those reasons is another story.

You choose to help others for the sake of helping others, so you make the decision to invest time. Once the time has been invested, it is no longer yours. And you invested your time to make the OP feel better, so if you fell into their trap is not the end result the same? ie OP feeling better?

This logic seems strangely sound. At first.

If the OP feels better (due to people falling for their story) but it makes the commenter feel worse, that's the difference. Especially if the commenter is less likely to show empathy later to someone who actually deserves it.

I was just thinking about how sexist and intolerant it is that MFP has so many Help! My Boyfriend Is A Jerk And Is Mean To Me And He Says I'm Fat And Is So Controlling! threads.

Aren't there any men at MFP that have similar horror stories about their women who would like to finally admit to it?

Now I want to go read these threads for entertainment. :D

I wish. I'll take a 20 minute nap or a 2 hour nap. Still wake up with a headache.

Do you get tension in your jaw when you sleep? Like grinding or clenching?

I've been told I grind my teeth, a lot, I also have a wisdom tooth that's on a nerve, and my oral surgeon told me I would need an inpatient surgery to have it removed. I would need a specialist to have this done.

I want to, but hasn't been on my priority list. I just started the job that I'm at. I'm waiting for benefits and can't have the down time right now.

Understood. However, if you're in the UK, get on the referral list ASAP- average waiting time for non urgent NHS referrals is 12-24 weeks. Likely different stateside. Your health needs to be a priority, sweets.

just get a temporary night guard from a pharmacy until the benefits kick in.

it can save your teeth..... and a lot of downtime, pain & money
