7/22 155.6 Yay!!! Stayed under in calories & did 50 push-ups (10 reg. floor, 10 bent knee, 30 wall) & 20 triceps dips.
7/23 154.4 I'm so happy! I just hope that I don't do the self-sabotage thing, again.

7/25 155.8 Stressful day, yesterday. Yes, self-sabotage, but not as bad = Don't know why I HAD to have chocolate covered peanuts & honey roasted cashews. I'm calling it self-sabotage because -- it was a craving, but I still did it even knowing..................... actually went to a store & bought them. Not like they were sitting around.
7/26 155.8 Gave blood, yesterday. Was not planned & 1st time to do this. Didn't know that I would practically pass out & have to eat & drink additional calories... oh well. Could have been worse & I'm glad that I did it.
7/27 157.6 Well, this was not unexpected. I thought that I was even back up in the 160s. I had a frightening day, yesterday. At one point, I was even scared that I might be having a heart attack (my Mom's had 2 & she was thin!). Scary symptoms. I am thinking the blood donation did a big number on me. Had to eat more calories, but also could have made better choices. I'm okay...
7/28 157 A tad better. I am determined to NOT do the self-sabotage thing for this round... I am back on track today... I know it!

Oh, I'm so happy that I made my goal "No Self-Sabotage!" did do it a little, but then very quickly got back on track. I will make that my goal the next round. So all in all -- weight-wise, I did not lose ground during this round -- just stayed the same. I'm happy with that!

7/22 265.6 -- A brand new number to start the challenge! First time seeing that five! A little surprised since we had ham for supper but sodium for the day was still between 1500 and 2300.
7/23 265.8 -- Staying with 265 even after ham one night and soy sauce the next. I really expected to hold onto some water. The scale is toying with me. ;-)
7/24 265.4 -- When I look up at the ranges for the two previous challenges, this make me really happy. Keeping within calorie goal is definitely working!
7/25 266 -- Up a touch but that's okay. I've been keeping under on calories but was a bit over on sodium. Seeing the dr. later today.
7/26 266.2 -- Today I need to start exercising. I promised myself I would start today. I've gotten good at staying within my calories. Let's see if I can do the same with exercising.
7/27 264.2 -- WHOOSH! -- a nice low-sodium day yesterday after several high days. I did an exercise video yesterday and feeling it today so expected a bit of water retention. We may see that tomorrow. Now off to recalculate TDEE for that new third digit!
7/28 265.4 -- Yesterday was the first off-diary over-calories day in more than two weeks. Take out Chinese + late night snacking. It's going to take a few days to overcome it but overcome it I shall! Back on track!
7/29 267.4 -- BLEAGH! I know it's just water weight from the Chinese blow out two days ago but geez. This, too, shall pass, quite literally. I got right back in the saddle yesterday and will remain!
7/30 265.8 -- That's better. It's been a little harder the last couple days to stay within calories. I don't know if that's because of the ate-everything-in-sight of a couple days ago or what. Hmmph. Anyway, eating within limits is the new normal and I'm sticking to it.

7/23 / 265.6 / Saturday is my eating out day, so i expected a little bump up. no worries!
7/24 / 266 / blah. water weight maybe? also weighed in a lot earlier than normal
7/25 / 264.6 / weigh in at more normal time, also, less eating crap. weekends are so difficult!
on a side note, i am glad a joined this thread as i now have more of a sense of responsibility to check in,
and to have done my best each check in.
7/26 / 264.6 / considering all the snacks i had yesterday, im glad this stayed the same. had a little too much bread tonight. hopefully it doesn't hurt me too badly tomorrow.

7/22 134.4 Tiny loss, better than nothing. No real plans this weekend, so that should help to keep things in check.
7/23 134.6 too much processed food today.. and no exercising, tho my toddler is sick so cuddles with her are more important today.
7/24 133.8 Nice! Went over my calories with dinner yesterday, got in a late walk to just get me under for the day. Happy to see a loss! Toddler still sick
7/25 134.4 Not sure why I have a gain today.. under calories yesterday and exercised. I do have a cold now, curtsey of my daughter, so I’ll blame it on that. Hope today goes better and I feel better.
7/26 135.2 Ok what the hell is going on?! Does being sick make you hold onto water or does taking Tylenol/Ibuprofen? I've been under calories both days and exercised and still gaining. Getting very frustrated. And I still feel like crap

7/28 134.6 On my way back down, still not feeling 100% but no longer am taking any Ibuprofen, so hopefully the water retention is making its way out. I’ve stayed under my calorie goals & worked out each day. So, I know I’m doing it right, just holding onto some water somewhere. This weekend should be ok, of course the day before our last weigh in I have a loooong overdue date planned with the hubby. I have no plans to count calories or nitpick what I’m eating/drinking, I’m going to enjoy myself and whatever happens happens. I don’t foresee myself reaching my goal these 10 days, but that’s ok.. this sickness really sidelined me.. and the last 10 days I surpassed my goal, so I’ll call it even
7/29 133.2 FINALLY getting rid of all that garbage that I was holding onto due to this cold - which I still have ugh. I am relieved to see the number going back down tho!

SW 182.4 - in March
GW 150 - will reassess when I get there but at this point I think I'll maintain there for a while and work on my fitness progress.
7/21 - 156.4 - coming in from round 10
I would like to get below 155 in Round 11. I should be starting to slow things down as I get closer to my target. Daily weigh ins will definitely help to keep me in check and not stress the minor ups and downs as I get closer to where I plan to maintain for a while.

7/22 - 155.4 - this is about where I was hoping to get at the end of last round...but I'll take it as a starting point for this one!!!
7/23 - 156.0 - tough work out yesterday, muscles are recuperating.
7/24 - 156.4 - ate at a deficit all weekend...worked out hard. Sore shoulder this morning and my rings are crazy tight so I'm water puffy. Re-hydrate and get those muscles repaired so I can see my progress on the scale.
7/25 - 156.0 - a little less water puffy this morning...I'm fully booked with a freelance client this week so fitting in work outs is going to be tough...double booked yesterday so got nothing in, not even a walk with the dog This week is going to be all about the calories I think...
7/26 - 154.8 - YES!! under 155!!!...not sure if this is from changing my scale batteries or the water I seemed to be releasing every half hour needing to pee yesterday. I'm definitely feeling less bloaty today. My calorie intake has been on point over the last week so I've earned it regardless!!
7/27 -153.8 - WHAAAT! - This is a Whoosh week! I was stuck at 156-7 for a while, maybe I needed this week of no extra exercise for my body to settle and heal a bit. I'm pretty active working in my client's showroom (like 12-14000 steps a day active) so it's not complete rest. Think I might need to add a snack in there though, to slow things down...I'm getting pretty close to my goal...or maybe I need to reassess that goal...hrmmmm.
7/28 - 153.4 - The back of my brain was thinking this 153 thing was a fluke...but apparently not! Got my "better than nothing" work out in yesterday on top of my 16000 steps. Editing to add....I bought a new top yesterday...SIZE SMALL!!! Non scale victory!!!
7/29 - 152.5 - on my mom's scale- Not sure this would be the same on my scale but WOWzers. Yesterday was crazy...and honestly I ate way less than I should have. I'm up in Cottage country staying with my parents and cousin's family visiting for the next 10 days...so this gives me a bit of a buffer for not having complete control over the menu and wanting to indulge a bit on my week off. This also pretty much gets me to the 30lb lost mark since I started in March. Pretty pleased to say the least !!

7/23. 181.4. I was not expecting that but I'll take it. Not the best or worst day food-wise but my kids kept me on my feet at least. . Meal planning and grocery shopping today.
7/24. 180.4 !!!!!!!!!!
7/25 182.6. What? lol. I stayed within calories and worked out yesterday, so I guess I'm just holding on to some water. Some extra carbs too. Drinking lots of water today. Planning to lift weights tonight so I'll probably be holding on to more water tomorrow.
7/26 181.0. Trying to have a lower calorie day today and lots of water.
7/27 180.6... I had a good workout last night with sore muscles today, so I am happy with this. Can't wait to see the # drop under 180 though!
7/28 180.4. I had a sleep-refusing child last night, super tired! Taking it easy on the exercise today.

7/25 192.8 woohoo! Lost some of that water weight from the other day! I'm really trying to stick to it even when I see fluctuations on the scale!

7/27 192.2 woohoo! I didn't drink enough water yesterday and I had too much sodium but I DID take the kiddos swimming so I tried to get a mini workout in while playing in the pool! My legs are sore today. So out of shape. Lol!
7/28 193 Does anyone else have trouble losing weight while it's that time of the month?! I usually gain a little water weight right before..but omg I still feel so bloated and I'm on day 3!
7/29 191.2. This is a whoosh for me! Yay!! I felt "lighter" this morning but didn't expect to see this number. Water weight can totally mask any loss..I'm proud of myself for sticking with it even when the scale isn't my friend.

7/22 - no scale. On vacation at the beach. Cannot exercise a little longer. What can go wrong with this! Yikes!!!

7/28-144- it's been in th 100's temp wise here and when I don't drink enough water=hello retention!
7/29- 142.8-stomach bug working in my favor and had no appetite yesterday. Feeling better this morning and walked/jogged 5 miles. Just muscled through it. Still don't think I'm going to hit my goal.

I'm back for another round. It's so nice to come here and share success and frustration. I appreciate all of you and this journey we're on.

Planning to lose 1.5 next 10 days. I'm adjusting my goal for the next 10 days. Figuring my age, metabolism, etc, losing 1.5# in 10 days means a daily calorie deficit of 500 calories which equals 1# a week.

7/24 143.2 Not taking credit as I'm pretty sure it's a result of being sick Mostly laying around. But getting better.
7/25 144.2 Well, darn. Up. Was hoping to be in the 143's. Well, I'm better, not over it yet, but should be ellipting today. That will help. Plus, I return to eating sensibly. Been a week since the gym. Depressing. I have to get myself there even if it is in the evening.
7/26 145 Half way thru and higher. Comfort ate yesterday. Today clean eating and hopefully some exercise for the first time in days. Hopefully. What goes on must come off. Right?
7/27 145 70 on ellip but nutty buddy and wine... it could be worse. OK, tonight, the gym. I need to continue my therapy and eat right: low carbs/high protein. Wish me luck at getting back on track.
7/28 145 At least I've held here for last few days. 70 on ellip again but food choices need improvement. I seem to have lost focus. Back to basics. I haven't been making protein drinks and it shows. I get hungry and make poor choices.
7/29 144.4 Made it to gym and it felt so good to be there. Ate mostly fruit and veggies. Gonna focus more on plant food today too. Going to community center to walk the track. Feel the need to change things up a bit instead of ellip all the time.

7/22: 193.4 waaaat?! Lol weight coming down fast all of a sudden. Probably because it's hella hot here in NYC, and I've been a lot of walking in addition to my active job. Still, wasn't expecting to see 93 this morning. Hopefully I can keep my focus.

7/23 / 145.0 / This time I weighed first thing in the morning. Stuck to under 1200 calories yesterday.
7/24 / 142.6 / Wow! Looks like it must have been water weight from all the salty food and drink over the last 2-3 weeks. I will keep drinking water and stay under 1200 calories. Less than 7 pounds to go.
7/25 / 142.7 / Under 1200 calories yesterday. I want to add exercise, but afraid I will overeat due to increased hunger.
7/26 / 141.6 / Did I really have 5 pounds of water weight?? Now how long to lose the last 5 or so pounds?
7/27 / 142.4 / 30 min on elliptical/ ate back about 300 calories
7/28 / 144.2 / Went to L.A. for the day with a friend and our daughter. Lunch at American Girl Cafe + Dinner at Cheesecake Factory + feeling like a glass of wine with dinner = going over by at least 1050 calories, likely more even by ordering chicken sandwich and off of the Skinnylicious menu. I sometimes miss eating whatever I want without worrying about it. I even counted the walking as exercise. Oh well, it was a really fun day!
7/29 / 144.4 / Stayed under 1200 yesterday. Hope this drops by tomorrow. Will drink more water and jump on elliptical today.
7/30 /144.8 / Exercised, BUT had 2 glasses of wine, had dinner at a relatives and overdid it by 600 + calories. I need to get more serious about this! I know it works IF I stay under calories EVERY day. I think it's harder when I have a smaller amount to lose. I will do better next round. It will be easier when I am back to work (teacher) next week and have a more regular routine. Also, I need to stop the mentality that once I've gone over calories that the day is shot. Then I continue to eat more. That is not helping me achieve my goals.

7/26: 163.8 - TOM is still here. still feel bloated. this 10 days isn't going as expected, but I'm content with it.
7/27: 163.6 - can't tell what's going on with my weight. might just be TOM.

Particularly happy with the downward trend in my highest weight each round. The scale is not an exact tool, and weight fluctuates day to day because of so many factors such as water retention, muscle building etc. A steady downward trend is a good indicator. I measured myself this morning and I have lost inches as well as weight.

7/22 187: Walked quite a bit yesterday. I actually did more than my daily steps. I did decrease my calories a little throughout the day because I had a planned evening out with 5 of my friends and former colleagues at Applebees. I wanted to make sure that I could enjoy my dinner without worrying too much about my calorie consumption. I thought about canceling even though it was in the making for about a month due to family circumstances, but my husband insisted that I go. I am glad I did. I needed that mental break. I did enjoy it, and I stuck to my diet with steak, steamed broccoli, and water. Yes, it's red meat, and no, I don't eat it often. I stick to white, but red meat is good for my HDL, and I have to boost that up. I didn't eat any breads, even though broccoli does have carbs in it, and I stuck to water. I even skipped dessert and appetizers.
7/23 186.2 I denied myself pizza and instead made a quesadilla. Yes, it was still carbs AND bread, but since it's a tortilla, it was less. I even made a low carb dessert, and it was awesome! First time in a month and a half that I allowed myself something sweet, but I did it the right way.
7/24 186 ✔ I was really hungry yesterday, and I felt that way pretty much the entire day. It was so hard not to go and scrounge around in the fridge for more and more food or even to have a late night snack. I hope this weight holds. It was my goal for this challenge, and I'm now back to my premarital weight.
7/25 185.8 I started the 7-day walking plan yesterday, and I increased my steps by 500 from the goal Samsung Health had set for me. My legs are killing me today! I surpassed by goal by 1,500 steps. I'm usually out biking, but I wanted to shake it up. My body was getting adjusted to it, and when that happens, it's hard to keep losing (from what I read). So, here I am...trying something new for the week.
7/26 185.4 I put in my full 40 minutes for my walking plan yesterday, drank 48 oz. of water, and put in an extra 2500 steps to boot. I also tried out a quick and easy new recipe called "nice" cream on my kids to see if they enjoyed the ice cream that was on so good for your body instead of your booty. It was a hit!
7/27 184.6 This is not a number I expected to see this morning. It was a date night with my hubby, but I stuck to my diet at the restaurant. I completed my 3rd day of the walking plan, and I went over my steps by 2000+.
7/28 184.4 Not much of a loss, but I've made great progress this week. I'll definitely take it! I did my 4th day of my walking plan and put in 10,000 steps. Stayed under my calorie intake for the day too.
7/29 184.8 I'm up a little. I'm not surprised either because I practically slept through the entire night, and I usually don't eat past 6, but it was around 8 when I was able to have dinner. Granted, I ate a salad, but it was late. I completed my day 5 walk, and I had over 13g steps in. It was a busy, busy day preparing my kids to go back to school Monday.
7/30 184 lbs Woo Hoo!!!! I needed that last little bit to reach an 18lb loss! This may be TMI, but I've lost 2 bra sizes during this journey so far. I am thrilled to no end. They made my back hurt.

I’m so happy to see this. #1 I had a pretty huge loss yesterday (1.4) so expected some to fluctuate back up and #2 I traveled six hours in the car plus trying to stick to diet plan on the fly. And I also indulged in some burger/fries for lunch. Went a tad over on cals. I guess all this measuring and tracking and will power is paying off!
7/24: 200.6 – And there it is. I’ve been expecting this. At least I can say it’s not because I “cheated” or “fell off the wagon”. I’m sticking to it and will keep sticking to it. Still a net loss!

Anyway, my "mid-weight" for this round down again! (267.4+264.2)/2=265.8 and I'll take that as an almost 2-pound loss despite day 10 of this round being more than day 1. Looking at things this way is really much more satisfying than looking at the bounces of a single day and panicking every time the scale goes up.7 -

7/24: 249.4 (Yay!!! I reached 25lbs lost!!!)
7/25: 249.6 (maybe I should weigh myself before I do strength training?)
7/26: 250 (I don't understand. I ate very low in cals...weighed myself before working out...even ate low in carbs and sodium...so why is there a gain? I am sore from leg day from the day before so maybe its because my muscles are tense?...idk that's just weird tho. There better be a big whoosh coming.)
7/27: 249.4 (not a big whoosh but I'll take it)

7/29: 246.6 (huh? So you telling me I go 3 days of eating very clean, low carb, low fat low sodium low sugar and no change and then I decide to eat high carb high fat high sodium high sugar and I lose...like wtf? I don't even know if I stayed within my deficit but obviously I guess I did. I guess that was the whoosh I was looking for.)

7/31: 246.4 (Yippy! 28lbs lost!!!)
Well off to the next round! Hopefully I will be closer to the low 240s by the end of the next round!8 -

7/21 - 156.4 - coming in from round 10
I would like to get below 155 in Round 11. I should be starting to slow things down as I get closer to my target. Daily weigh ins will definitely help to keep me in check and not stress the minor ups and downs as I get closer to where I plan to maintain for a while.

7/23 - 156.0 - tough work out yesterday, muscles are recuperating.
7/24 - 156.4 - ate at a deficit all weekend...worked out hard. Sore shoulder this morning and my rings are crazy tight so I'm water puffy. Re-hydrate and get those muscles repaired so I can see my progress on the scale.
7/25 - 156.0 - a little less water puffy this morning...I'm fully booked with a freelance client this week so fitting in work outs is going to be tough...double booked yesterday so got nothing in, not even a walk with the dog This week is going to be all about the calories I think...
7/26 - 154.8 - YES!! under 155!!!...not sure if this is from changing my scale batteries or the water I seemed to be releasing every half hour needing to pee yesterday. I'm definitely feeling less bloaty today. My calorie intake has been on point over the last week so I've earned it regardless!!
7/27 -153.8 - WHAAAT! - This is a Whoosh week! I was stuck at 156-7 for a while, maybe I needed this week of no extra exercise for my body to settle and heal a bit. I'm pretty active working in my client's showroom (like 12-14000 steps a day active) so it's not complete rest. Think I might need to add a snack in there though, to slow things down...I'm getting pretty close to my goal...or maybe I need to reassess that goal...hrmmmm.
7/28 - 153.4 - The back of my brain was thinking this 153 thing was a fluke...but apparently not! Got my "better than nothing" work out in yesterday on top of my 16000 steps. Editing to add....I bought a new top yesterday...SIZE SMALL!!! Non scale victory!!!
7/29 - 152.5 - on my mom's scale- Not sure this would be the same on my scale but WOWzers. Yesterday was crazy...and honestly I ate way less than I should have. I'm up in Cottage country staying with my parents and cousin's family visiting for the next 10 days...so this gives me a bit of a buffer for not having complete control over the menu and wanting to indulge a bit on my week off. This also pretty much gets me to the 30lb lost mark since I started in March. Pretty pleased to say the least !!
7/30 - 152.5 - held steady even with some cocktails on the dock and a huge surf 'n turf dinner last night. No regrets !!!
7/31 - 155.5 - Bleh!! Had lunch out so this is a sodium and beer issue lol...along with TOM due to arrive tomorrow or the next day. I'm still extremely happy with where I go to this past week. I'm just going to work on maintaining while I'm not home and then get back at the real work to get those last few lbs off to reach my goal by the end of Aug.

7/23 - 196.9 Busy day yesterday, outdoor work, also a few good workouts, including C25K W3 D3. Pizza for dinner, but still under calories overall for the day.
7/24 - 196.4 30.0 pounds down in 29 weeks. Happy dance!
7/25 - 196.4 okie dokie. Started on a big old spiral sliced ham last night so I am upping my sodium. Better keep sweating. Day 1 of C25K Week 4
7/26 - 194.7 It feels like the numbers 4 and 7 are transposed. I double checked my eyes. I expect to go up the next few days as I usually do when whoosh happens. But I have eaten lightly the last few days - it's been so darn hot and I have no ice cream in the house to cool me off. A few days of poor appetite won't hurt me.
7/27 - 195.5 Yep, here it is - whoosh then bounce. So yesterday I missed my 10K steps by ~500. I was racing the clock up to midnight, walking the dog very late. I thought I might get it in. So hot and humid. At 11:00 the temp was 83 but felt like 90. Had to get my C25K W4 D2 in this morning. Indulging today in a going away party for a really great boss. May regret it tomorrow.
7/28 - 196.0 Not a big deal. My weight always goes down and up down and up. But I'm still targeting under 195 this round.
7/29 missed checking in but weight was 196.4
7/30 missed checking in but weight was 197.5
7/31 196.9 I had a bit of life out of control the last couple days. It's all OK.

7/24 194.4. Too many carbs yesterday and not enough water!
7/25 192.8 woohoo! Lost some of that water weight from the other day! I'm really trying to stick to it even when I see fluctuations on the scale!
7/26 192.6 Not sure I'll make it to my goal this round but as long as the scale keeps going down I'm good!
7/27 192.2 woohoo! I didn't drink enough water yesterday and I had too much sodium but I DID take the kiddos swimming so I tried to get a mini workout in while playing in the pool! My legs are sore today. So out of shape. Lol!
7/28 193 Does anyone else have trouble losing weight while it's that time of the month?! I usually gain a little water weight right before..but omg I still feel so bloated and I'm on day 3!
7/29 191.2. This is a whoosh for me! Yay!! I felt "lighter" this morning but didn't expect to see this number. Water weight can totally mask any loss..I'm proud of myself for sticking with it even when the scale isn't my friend.
7/30 190.6. Now THAT'S more like it!! Still don't think I'll reach my goal for this round but I'm close!
7/31 189.8. Umm WHAT?! My jaw about hit the floor when I got on the scale this morning! I hit my goal for this round even though at the beginning it wasn't looking promising. That proves..just stick with it and the weight WILL come off!
This was my first round and I really loved reading about everyone's triumphs and struggles..it definitely kept me motivated to keep at it!
