Please friend me. I can't seem to figure out how to do it. I'm new to MFP. I'm starting my first challenge August 1. I've got 129 pounds to loose. I love your idea of 10pound increments. What is your goal for August?3

That is an energetic goal to loose 15-20 in a month! I am looking forward to helping you achieve that goal. How do you plan to do it? My weigh in day is a Tuesday. I'm looking forward to seeing if I've lost any weight this first week even though I haven't been trying. I just wanted to see where my problem areas are. I found three. I eat too many calories at dinner, I'm eating too much sugar. I can't remember my third problem area right now. I'll have to look at my food notes. My starting weight last week was 295.4 and my goal is 175 or less. For my height, 5'8", 175 is still considered overweight according to what I read from Mayo Clinic. After I get there I may have to re-evaluate and adjust my goal wt.

Well right now I'm losing 4-5 lbs a week so I hope it still keeps going. I just eat healthy and walk. I also have one day where I eat what I want and it's like a shock to my body because the scale drops drastically after I go back to my healthy plan. Sugar is definitely a no. I drink tons of water. Seriously take it one day at a time9 -
Please add me. I've done it before and need to do it again due to medication and other factors after an illness.2

Just wanted to second the suggestion to look at big weight loss goals in smaller chunks. I started a year ago with about 175 pounds to lose and so far has lost 122. It's really daunting and overwhelming to think of it all as one goal. I've found it easier to stay motivated thinking about the next 10-15 pound milestone.10

I've done it before as well. It sucks slowly watching the scale creep back up but regaining control is all that matters. adding you!1 -

I'm working to lose 100 as well. I'm doing mine in increments of 25. Every 25lbs I give myself a non-food reward. My first 25lb got me a tattoo! Working toward my next 25 now!7

Have no idea how to add you as a friend but feel free to send me a friend request. I'm at 295 and my goal is 175. I'm getting started August 1. I've been tracking this last week and have been able to identify three problem areas: snacks, sugar, too many calories at dinner. Hoping to improve those three areas as well as others.3 -
Making mini goals helps me, check out this group and join us. We start a new thread each week with small attainable, mini goals. Even if you don't meet the mini goals perfectly. The goal is to stay mindful and be consistent not perfect and if you do this you will eventually reach your ultimate goals. Ok today is day 1 of my August 30 day challenge. One of my goals is to work out Monday, Wednesday, & Friday. Today was Monday. I walked 1.01 miles in 30 minutes at 2 mph on the treadmill. My other goal for the month is to stay within my daily calorie allotment. I think I can do this! Time will tell.3

Hi there. I have a lot to loose. At least 100 pounds. I am trying to reduce the amount that I eat first, watch portions and try and control the Inge eating before starting to get the right food. I would love some friends to talk to. Xx2

I've got 120 pounds to lose. It's a long road, and I've been on it many times before, but I'm hoping to give it one more try. Would love to be added to the group. Good luck, everyone!4

Feel free to add me as well! Have over 100 to lose, started my journey (again) on June 23rd and am down 20 lbs. Minigoals that work for me are identifying previous weight milestones and surpassing those (ex: I was 280 when I moved back to Ohio; I was 245 when I participated in that fitness program at work; I was 230, when I went to the doctor, etc.) I know that I was once that weight and it helps me to think about being that size again. Also, I don't think I'm alone on this one, but I have a large section of "skinny clothes" in my closet/attic/garage. Some of them had even been slotted for donation. Pulling out old favorites and having them actually fit again is a HUGE motivation for me!!!!4

Hi my name is Kimmie. I'm from NH and have yo yoed up and down for years. I've been on MFP for about a month now. Looking for new friends to motivate each other. Please add me2

I am in the same boat but focusing more on 5 to 10 at a time. I also only add people that have real photos of themselves. I like to learn the real person vs a picture of a sun, beach etc.5

I've 90lbs I want off. Can I play in this sandbox. I really want to change the way I think about food. I've been fighting these battles for years. I want to win this war. Food is only fuel to live and I want to live better. I need food to have less power over.4
