I wear my husband's socks when I want my feet to feel extra warm.
I've been at this a lot longer than PP and have lost more weight. My feet did shrink and while I did need new shoes, I didn't need new socks and can still wear my husband's. The one bonus to shrinking feet was getting a pair of hand me down winter boots from my son when I shrunk out of my winter boots and he grew out of his!
So that is I guess something no one ever told me -- that I'd get hand me downs from my kids!
Then again, I have very muscular calves which have remained muscular thanks to running and weight lifting.12 -

I don't go to the store and do that, but I do farmer's carries and it give me a good idea, I have done 50# in each hand and it was really hard. Amazing to think I used to carry it around with me all the time.12 -

So...I'm at a healthy BMI--almost the exact middle of the healthy range and I'm a size 00-0. Wtf do I even wear? I can't wear juniors clothing because it has holes in it or the shirts are cropped tops and I work at a jail. And I'm not a petite, they fit weird. No one told me I would have to start buying bigger clothes and getting them altered. Thank God I'm transitioning to maintenance now. I just feel like the women of MFP should band together and form a clothing line that makes sense for women who are losing weight.
It's more of an annoyance, really.22 -

Go to the juniors department at nicer department stores. Much more conservative styles, including nice blouses and actual trousers, not just denims. Also, for a nice pair of demins go online Levi's sizes thiers by waist size and the 501 line are 100% cotton and fit true to size (ie NOT skinny jeans) (Macy's, Nordstrom's etc).11 -

That my brain would still try and convince me that to wear new jeans after swimming I would need to prep, cool down properly to avoid getting all sweaty from the new/tight jean struggle.
Took around 30mins getting ready so I didn't over heat then just pulled jeans on without even undoing them - and they don't make me too hot!. Still a little tight (some may say they just fit), but a slightly larger tshirt covers the muffin top nicely!
feel great in them too (although they are STILL bit baggy on the legs - but I definitely wouldn't get a 34" waist on yet!)3 -
Think my best one is being able to wear all the time the ring my mum bought me when I was 21. I am now 72 and have only been able to wear it for short periods when I managed to lose weight but this time I will wear it until I die, I am determined.72

That I'd end donating probably $1000 worth of clothing to charity shops. All of it in good shape, of course, but some of items I really liked and, despite my weight at the time, looked good in. I'm going to miss one aloha shirt in particular.

That a grown woman could lie in bed at night and suddenly notice the feel of her ribs. Not just the boney lump, but each individual rib! And then each collar bone and hip bone, and reach around and notice and feel each vertebrae individually, marveling at their perfection holding me up all these 62 years. My skeleton has been so deeply buried for so long, I honestly forgot I have one.
Now that it's surfaced, I find it just glorious!52 -

That I'd end donating probably $1000 worth of clothing to charity shops. All of it in good shape, of course, but some of items I really liked and, despite my weight at the time, looked good in. I'm going to miss one aloha shirt in particular.
Could you resize it? Do you know anyone that sows?1 -

I carry 50 pound bags of water softener salt down to the basement every week.
Two at a time.
Just because I can, now!
And every step of the way I remind myself that I used to carry around an extra 90 pounds with every step, for every single second of the day.23 -

Maybe, but I'm talking about needing to take out at least half the fabric in some items. I'd had a custom kilt made before the weight loss. After the loss I had it retailored (not altered) and you wouldn't believe how much fabric they removed.
So I've got a spot on my dresser where I stack up clothes that don't fit and when it gets too high I make a run to the charity shop. And I keep an eye out for clothing sales and replace an item or two at a time instead of all at once.

As somebody that sews- if it is more than a size it really becomes a hassle. I have altered a few items that I really really love but honestly it has to be something special to do that. It is a lot of work for little gain and quite frankly a pain in the proverbial even if I'd get paid for it.
I'd rather sew something new and donate the stuff to somebody in need (and I have)
