@bapcarrier ... just wondering what guidelines and name of the next challenge will be ... I am assuming you have settled on it running until the Saturday before Thanksgiving, as that was one of your suggestions and several people liked that approach. Also, are you keeping it that Wednesday is our reporting day ... I know not everyone posts on that day ... just wondering ... as I am in for it and want to set up my calendar.

    Sunday Share
I am reluctant to shoot for more than 1/2 pound per week loss in our Fall Challenge ... maybe I'll surprise myself and be able to do a lot more, but my faith in myself was badly shaken by the quick weight gain I had in the beginning of our last challenge that took all of it to get off me.

It took getting the Shingles flu response to stop the overeating that was happening more than once a week ... and, for me, a high calorie day leads to a creep up in calories overall, and a week of low calorie days likewise leads to more of the same. So today I can report that for the past 14 days I have earned a gold star on my calendar on 13 days for not going over 1800 calories (which is my max intake target). My average calories for the past 14 days were 1560 cals. I lost just under 4 pounds in the past 14 days.

    Hi lovely people!

I am also going for a pound a week. My weight-loss has slowed because I have less to lose, but mostly because I am not as strict as the beginning. I will probably toddle along like this for awhile and then decide if I want to be strict for another period of time. I think I will eat between 1500 and 1600 calories for this week and see what happens.

stay strong and good luck to all of us!!!

@happygirlxxx Ana, my email is: [removed by MFP mods - please share personal details via PM] I tried to message you but there was a server error??? Thanks for all your hard work recording for this challenge, I hope I can do as well as you did with all the figures, and information.

@bapcarrier thanks for the email; will send you in a bit the xls. I am sure you will do great with the tracking! :)
  • happygirlxxx
    happygirlxxx Posts: 301 Member
@bapcarrier tried to email you, but it bounced back. Anyway, here is the link to the file ... you can download it (its on the upper right corner the option; just click on the ...)

    https://dropbox.com/s/40lcnggf91jpnsq/MFP%20-%20Challenge%20Tracker.xlsx?dl=0

I hope you don't mind, but took the liberty to create a new tab for the Fall Challenge and added some of the data from the people who already provided it.

I used myself as an example of how the xls works; you can notice how the formula automatically calculates the figures as well as the color coding (this helped me to identify faster the ups and downs as well who reached their goal). Once you start tracking you can delete my weekly figures which are just are fake (hope to do better LOL).

Also, I left the names of those who finished the last challenge; you might need to update the list. As you add people I would suggest to add rows in the middle, that way the formula for the total group goal, # of participants, etc doesn't get messed up or update it as well.

Should you have any questions about the xls, feel free to let me know; happy to help out.

    Happy tracking!

I made it to the gym Friday! First time in a month. I'm very limited with what I'm allowed to do but I still got a good workout.

I met my goal. I'm thrilled!

Good Morning All!! Happy Sunday and happy challenge!

We reached the final week of our Summer Heat Challenge .... and I must say, it was a hard one!! But we managed to pass half of our group goal ... combined we loss 67% of our goal, which is 125.20lbs!!!! :)

Even though a lot of us didn't meet our challenge goal, I think its important to mention that its inspiring the fire this group has ... we didn't let the setbacks stop us, we continued fighting to improve our health and to be able to enjoy more of our life every day. Was great reading your posts with details of your daily wins ... either by trying that skirt bought many years ago, cleaning closets of way to big clothes, taking our crazy dogs early in the mornings for a nice long walk or enjoying the outdoors camping.

I congratulate all for our efforts; but there are two people specially:

    @BarneyRubbleMD lost 24lbs!!! awesome!!
@lydiapassthedonuts for reaching her goal!!! well done!!

Its been a pleasure to track this challenge; loved getting to know you a bit more and be inspired by you all.

Take care and ready, set, go .... the fall challenge starts!!

Going to try not having a specific goal at this point, like I did early on in this journey, might add one later. I think having one other than "just lose something" may be adding to my overall anxiety about how I am doing and being anxious just makes me stress and leads to eating.

I guess that's also my Sunday share: I have anxiety, not horrible, but enough where I have to really evaluate how it affects my life and how to eliminate or cope with it.

    Monday Check In ...
Still sleeping poorly because of the nerve root pain I'm having from the Shingles Virus ... whose blister rash is healing nicely, 3 weeks in. Because the nerve affected runs right along the top of the bra line the (T2 on the spine) the pain radiates right up through my chest and in the middle of my back; I woke up early this morning with that dinner plate sized pain right in the middle of me that sends lots of stress through my brain wondering if I'm having a heart attack ... until I calm down by remembering this is nerve pain I'm feeling. My doc told me this could go on for months and there's nothing that can really be done for it, although taking an NSAID might dull it some for a while ... but I am adverse to taking them so I try to tough it out as much as I can.

Weight check this morning shows I have lost weight this week ... now to hold that loss and build on it for our Wednesday weight check-in.

    Welcome to the new posters.

I up'ed my weight loss goal a bit from Summer challenge.
My back is still injured, exercise will be limited.
I will try meal prep during this challenge to help keep me on track.
Halloween candy is going to be a huge challenge for me.

Gave up sugar 3 months ago. Not worried about Halloween, but I'm dealing with a bad case of Plantar Fascittis that is not letting me as active as I want to. I do exercise in the pool, but I can't always get there as well as taking a basic walk at my near by college track.

It's an excuse, but doesn't control what I put in my mouth.

    Upward and Onward.
