Hello! So I'm new to challenges and posting in them. I want to put in my days weight however not sure what the best way to do it is. Is there no way of editing my original post or do I have to copy and paste and keep adding replies on a daily basis?
Thanks for the help!
As for editing, you can only edit up to 1hr after your post. If you're using a computer, you can just copy your post then add your entry for the next day. If you only use the mobile app, you can just quote your post, remove the quote tags, add your next entry then post again.2 -

Thanks for the help!
Here's what I do:
Write your post in someplace else and save it. Mine is a google doc.
Each morning, I go in and add today's statement to my doc.
Then I open MFP and read/respond to others' challenge messages.
When I get to the end, I copy/paste the newly revised form of my doc.

I'd love to hear how you guys get to the other side when it all seems useless. Thanks all.
@eyer0ll do you take measurements? .. You may be one of those people (like me) who gain and lose weight all over the body at the same time, which makes it very difficult to see weight going on and coming off, because the body is still in the same proportion
The measurements help me as I still cant see a difference. in the mirror,
but
my bust has lost 3 and 1/2 inches
my waist has lost 3 and 1/2 inches
my hips have lost 2 and 3/4 inches
so I know I am heading in the right direction
@Slimpossible007 Yep, I measure and clothes do fit better so intellectually I know I'm doing the right things but I JUST. CANNOT. SEE. IT. It's so discouraging. I am relying on sheer stubbornness right now (which I have an ample supply of) but it's tiring. Whiiiiiiiine.6 -
@nikki062181 That's more a WHOA than a Woo! Girlfriend, take care of yourself! We break when we hit concrete, we don't bounce or bend.
@ElleEm72 I copied cyranda's first post to the notepad in my phone and update first thing each morning. Then I copy and paste to the group.
@eyer0ll have other people mentioned the loss? One thing I learned as a WW leader back in the '80's is that our own mental image of ourselves doesn't change easily. You need to look at yourself with new eyes. Looking at myself in the mirror, I still see myself at a higher weight. I had taken pictures of myself and only when I put them side by side could I see the difference.
@cpanus Is your GW correct?

I came down with a nasty sinus infection night before last. I always lose weight when I am sick (see R15 average weight above). I have been drinking a ton of water and expelled at least a pound of snot. Plus, no appetite, but I'm trying anyway. Hopefully something good will come of this and I won't gain all the weight back. But it's always doubtful with such an extreme loss, which is why I'm trying not to lose so much. -_-

I'm heading the wrong direction and very frustrated. Had a long discussion with myself on what I've been doing incorrectly. I need to move some every day. Drink less alcohol all the way around. @quiltingjaine This may be part of it. I've only told spouse and one close friend I'm trying to lose. They have both said they can see the loss (and I believe them) but no one else has mentioned it. I'm truly ok with that (I'm firmly in the "OMG you said I look good since I've lost weight which means you think I was HIDEOUS before so I shall dwell on this for weeks" camp of accepting compliments) but it does mean there's very little external validation. I can see the difference in pics -- some days more than others -- but how many hours a day can I stare at those pics?

Number of perfect days in a row: 3 Had three perfect days before the start the challenge.
To make it a perfect day for me:
1. Exercise. Got to get at least 20 minutes of exercise in
2. Log my food. Doesn't have to be <daily MFP calorie goal. But I need to log it!
3. No Sugary Foods
4. No Alcohol
5. No Boxed Cereal.
9/20: Exercise is going to be the hardest part for today. I slept in this morning; my lunch was filled with a work project and this evening will probably be filled with kids activities.

@eyer0ll as long as you KNOW you are losing .... focus on that .. the mirrors and the mind will catch up .. they are tricky things and like to throw us curve balls
I'm exactly the same I see zero change in the mirror .and due to that I get discouraged . but I know its happening because the scale and the measuring tape tell me otherwise
I sometimes hold the tape measure at my old size just to look at the difference those inches make ... it helps to see the big empty space that used to have more of me filling it (if that made sense)

Sounds like the classic "a watched pot never boils" scenario. You are in the middle of a process right now. 196 is not your goal.
Weighing ourselves validates that we are indeed making progress towards our goals and our eating and exercise changes are working.
Remind yourself of all the other reasons, besides looks, that you are doing this. To live longer? To have more energy?
30 pounds is a terrific achievement. If you quit now, how will you feel when you gain it back? Or gain it back plus an additional 20 pounds?
How will you feel when you reach your goal, mentally and physically? Will you feel a sense of pride, of accomplishment? How will it feel to fit into those size __ jeans, to shop at "regular" sized stores?
Personally, I have lost over 20 pounds since my highest MFP weight and only one jeans size. I don't expect others to notice that. But when I'm rocking the outfit in my profile pic 20 pounds from now they sure will!8 -
All y'all talkin' about not seein' it in the mirror ..
Glass half empty version:
You could be old as dirt like me and watching your double chin turn into wattles, the veins sticking up on the back of your hands, the cellulite formerly hidden by fat now showing as your thigh skin starts to dangle over your knees and your nice round upper arms develop bat wings. When I have lost all I intend to lose, people will stop saying how young I look for my age. They'll give me my senior discount without looking at me funny.
Glass half full version:
I'm already noticing it's a lot easier to do things like step into and out of the tub. I can clip my toe nails without getting out of breath. I can start wearing rings that have been a little too tight. I have an excuse to spend money on new clothes. I can lord my weight loss over hubby. I may live long enough to outlive our money!
I choose glass half full!!13
