Nothing wrong with it. Just the latest in a long line of diet industry demons.28

Nothing wrong with rice, as long as you eat sensibly, it is what you eat with it...
Same with bread, lashing of chocolate spread or butter is not going to be the same as a lightly spreaded slice of bread9 -
Lay off the internet until you learn how to critically evaluate information.58

Whole grains are always a healthier alternative.
As long as you log it and it's part of a healthy diet (or not) it's up to you.10 -

I log in everything I eat1 -
Bread is just bread. Just like any other food, as long as it isn't crowding out other things you need or causing you to exceed your calorie goals, it's just fine.12

I'd be lost without my honey toast in the morning... I did switch to ultra thin slices bread to reduce calories... Tastes even better!
People are worse than bread... don't eat those.24 -
So agree that food isn't good or bad. You CAN eat whatever you want, with planning and moderation.4

Bread is good for me. Very good. I have it every day and had it twice today (a french roll and rustic flatbread) and it tasted amazing. It also fills me up. Same with rice, I have it about 4 times a week and had it today. Are you afraid bread and rice would affect your weight loss? They wouldn't if you're within calories, just like any food (more than 100 lbs lost eating these items every day). Are you worried about the carbs in them? You shouldn't be if you have no problems with blood sugar. Are you worried about gluten? You shouldn't if you don't have issues with it. Do you overeat rice and bread and it makes it harder for you to stay within calories? Then you need to look for ways to manage your calories better and judge for yourself how many calories are these items worth. What exactly are you reading that is scaring you?4

That people can do fine without eating bread and rice is a different topic than "Are bread and rice bad?"38 -
If you eat too many carbs then probably, just say within your limits. All food is technically 'bad' if you eat over what you should. I don't eat bread just because I don't, I love rice and noodles though. I eat noodles almost everyday. I eat rice every once and awhile. I use to love bread and all that but I never realized how many calories are in it so that's why I don't eat it because I cut it out to make room for other things!15

I, personally, tend to avoid bread as it is a slippery slope for me and seems to cause me a lot of bloating and cravings, but for others, it is just fine. There is no food that is intrinsically 'bad' or 'good', just different in terms of nutritional values. I quite happily eat potatoes or rice on a daily basis and both of those have gone through phases of being demonised. I have bread once a week, usually as part of a sandwich or part of an eggs on toast meal as I absolutely love eggs on toast. Eat what suits your preference, as long as it fits within your weekly goals.9

Living in Europe ruined American bread for me. I lived in Germany for several months in college and used to eat three or four fresh baked rolls a day. I also walked everywhere and was the leanest I've ever been in my life.11

Does not answer her question...
OP, bread is fine...12 -
Some are, some are not- Check out, Netflix, "Whats With Wheat" it talks about why so many people now are having issues digesting wheat/gluten. GMO'd wheat does more damage than good. Look for Dave's Killer Bread 21 grain or Non-GMO bread. Sourdough is good because the process to make it is different.53

On the other hand I eat bread and rice. My diet doesn't have a name or a label. Doing just fine, exercising every day. Which demonstrates how varied human diets can be.
OP - bread has been a staple food for millennia, of course it isn't bad. It's just food. You need to be critical of things you find on the interwebz, be wary of people with an agenda and use your common sense.14 -

But you don't need bread as your source for carbs.
Yeah, but there's nothing wrong with getting some of your carbohydrates from bread.8
