Many events along the way will scupper our best intentions, but they merely delay the achievement of our goals. Life is for living, and one must learn patience. It takes many years to put on excess weight, so It follows that it takes much time to remove, but it is coming off, bit by stubborn bit! Stick with it! The game continues!
I HAVE the power and determination to do this.
Observations, and Previous RoundsA lot of people get upset by apparent weight gain when they have been working their butts off. Body weight fluctuates, both up, and down, from one day to the next depending on so many factors. From my experience:Round 16: (Target: 160) Highest, 162.4; lowest, 160.2; Mean, 161.3 It's slow, but I am very happy with the downward trend.- Changes often take several days to show on the scale.
- A drop is often followed by a bounce up before it settles back down. A general downward trend is the aim.
- A high sodium day usually results in water retention, unless you drink extra fluids to flush it out.
If you are making positive lifestyle changes it will lead to increased health and fitness.
Slow and steady leads to sustainable weight loss.
But remember to live a little along the way!

25/9/2017: 162.2 Goals? Meh! But rise totally predictable! City outing + Sunday visiting. And not hydrating properly. 4 days to redress this!

20/9 - 224.2 so happy to see this # again. Now I know it wasn't a fluke yesterday. :
21/9 - 223.8 strange. I got on the scale and it said 224.2. My SO got on after me (who by the way eats everything and his weight has not moved on 5 years - 165) so I know the scale isn't broken. I got back on and it moved lower to the same spot after 3 more attempts. Should I let him weigh before me everyday I wonder Be blessed and positive today everyone.
22/9 - 222.4 didn't eat properly yesterday and very hungry now.
23/9 - 223.4 more irregular eating. Trinidad doubles and pie.... still not right or on time. Water not on point either. Yesterday my attitude was -
I am too tired/stressed to care. That's what got me at 250. I should never be too anything to care about me and my future. Today is the first day of vacation so I know I got this.

9/23: 160.5. Well I will be a happy girl if I continue losing o.something lbs everyday. My long term goal is to up my water intake.

9/25: 163.4. Well this is one of those time I see the scale go up and I can't even complain cos I know what caused it. Way too much carbs( rice) over the weekend and less water. Let's see if I can drop this 3 pounds in the next 4 days.
9/26: 159.8 what just happen?!!!!!. Nope not gonna get too excited just water weight I'm sure.
9/27: 158.7. Yayyy Already hit my goal for this round. Super excited, although I'm still struggling with drinking enough water.

9/26 155.8 - ok this is where daily weighing is so valuable. Without it, I'd creep up at this point. Because of it I am aware of what's happening as I become too relaxed with my eating. Goal is 155 end of this round.
9/27 155.6. - ok so back to Monday.. overall 1 down from beginning of round. It's true, if you only kind of do the plan you only kind of loose weight...11 -

Goal: Log all my food each day. I tend to get lazy in the evenings and on the weekends.
9/20 - 264.2 - down .6 from yesterday despite the fact that I ate terribly last night and didn't exercise. I was stressed about my child's school work/preparing for picture day (today) and an interview that I have today at work (still pretty stressed about that!). Staying positive though, going to make better choices today
9/21 - 262.2 - I was emotionally and mentally exhausted after my interview yesterday, so I didn't eat well at night. But, I did make myself take a 15 minute walk last night. Unfortunately, I've got some foot pain that I'm pretty sure is caused by a bone spur on the top of my foot (so I'll be calling a podiatrist this week), so 15 minutes was all that I could handle. But I'm happy with the results
9/22 - 263.4 - Yesterday afternoon/evening was stressful. We had an event at my child's school that included dinner. Then when I got home, I just ate a bunch of junk food. I am working on controlling my emotional eating, but it's a process. I did just request an appointment with a podiatrist to try to resolve my foot pain. I can't walk for more than 15-20 minutes without pain and I need to get back to exercising. I knew my weight would be up today, but I'm not too discouraged. Today's a new day!
9/23 - 261.4 - Great way to start the weekend! Tried to walk a little more yesterday. The shoes I wore helped my foot, I think. And I have an appointment scheduled for 2 weeks out wirh the podiatrist. Can't wait to fix my foot!!
9/24 - 259.2 - Pretty happy with those results. Tomorrow will be a gain, Sundays are our family pizza nights. Definitely feel like I'm making progress!
9/25 - 263.6 - I knew it would be a gain, but that's more than I expected. But, when I went back and looked at the quantity of food (and calories) and the inactivity for the day, it makes perfect sense. Going out to dinner tonight and I've pre-logged my food. As long as I stay on task the rest of the day and get a walk or two in, I think I will be good
9/26 - 263.0 - It's a loss, I should be happy. But I feel a little discouraged. I did pretty well during the day yesterday (knowing that I was going out to dinner) and I walked more yesterday than I usually do when I work from home. I even ate less calories than I have in a long time (dinner included)! So it's kind of disappointing to see a small loss when I've eaten more calories and lost more. But I think there were several factors in play: I ate most of my calories at dinner after which I did not exercise, most of the calories were carbs, and I didn't get very much sleep last night. As disappointed as I feel, I do feel like yesterday has helped to put my mind back to the right mindset. I worked from home and DIDN'T overeat all day - I DO have some willpower! I should be happy that I lost anything, considering all the carbs I had at dinner. Either way, today's going to be a good day. I've got some willpower and determination to succeed, so I'm expecting tomorrow's weigh in will bring great results
9/27 - 260.6 - I knew yesterday would be a good day Last night I was really itching to eat junk food. I allowed myself a little indulgence, but not like I would normally do. Definitely paying off!

ROUND 17 - My Round 4
Start weight for round 17 - 161.7
Up 0.2 from yesterday but overall down 0.3 from last round. I so badly want to break back out of the 160's - I am so unhappy that they are my new normal. I want to see 159.9 or anything below it, as soon as possible. Here we go for this round:
9/20 161.7 - no exercise yesterday because I got out of work 1.5 hours late due to a meeting, then having to finish some paperwork at home (gotta love teaching)
9/21 162.8 UGH. Salty skillet pack for dinner so I hope that's the problem
9/22 161.7 - less snacking at work and less food at night - or it could just be the salt leaving from 2 salty meals. Still no during the week exercise...sign
9/23 I truly forgot to track - I weighed in but don't remember!!
9/24 162.0 - my family had a surprise 30th birthday for me on Saturday so not too bad!!
9/25 161.8 - moving the right way despite more cake since Sunday was my real birthday and TOM all weekend
9/26 162.8 - my friend made me ice cream cake for work yesterday so I had to have some - plus a salty dinner - anyone else bounce between the same weights? It's never 162.7 or 162.9, always 162.8, 162.0, 161.8 etc...

9/21 194.7 I know four lbs is a lot but I just recently (Monday) cut carbs down. I only eat good carbs and I cut out sugar. So my body is getting rid of water weight. My mind feels really clear!

9/25 196.6 I stayed under my calories yesterday. I did go to the gym so maybe my muscles are retaining a little water. I feel really good today though. Finished lots of meal prep yesterday! I cooked ground turkey, turkery breast, crab stuffed mushrooms, and beef stuffed halved peppers. My week is off to a great start! Happy Monday everyone!

9/20 125.8 -weight crept back up after last weeks several day low at the 122s. I did kickboxing last night. Went over calories by 200 calories.
9/21 127.3 - very frustrated. I did a legs day and a whole body workout yesterday. I was over calories due to the holiday, but not 2 lbs worth. Not sure why my weight keeps creeping up despite increased workouts and watching my calorie intake.
9/22 125.1 - weight went down a bit. Ate within calories. Did a HIIT class and kickboxing.
9/23. 126.3. Urggggghh. I did a whole body interval class and kickboxing class. Ate within calories. I would be ok with no loss, but the gains are frustrating me. I'm already at 1200 calorie intake.
9/24 124.8 Did 2 back to back kickboxing classes yesterday. Ate within calories,
9/25 124.3 Rest day. Ate within calories.
9/26 124.3 Did an upper arm 30 minute class. Over ate by ~ 350 calories.
9/27 123.8. Finally a number within last weeks average! Happy scale is no longer registering a loss average for me. =( I did 2 kickboxing classes. Didn't eat back all my calories.

Love this challenge and this group for accountability. Weighing every day has been an important factor in my success so far!
SW - March 2017 - 182.4lbs
GW - 145 - it was 150 initially but I smashed that last week and I don't feel like I'm done. I'm happy with where I am but I've got some pooch left and I think having a maintenance range of 145-149 would be ideal...so I'm going to slowly chip away at the last few pounds and work on my fitness.
9/19 - 149.8 - coming in from round 16

9/21 - 148.8 - had ham for dinner last night so was expecting an upward sodium blip...might show up tomorrow, but I'll try to ward it off with lots of H-2-O
9/22 - 148.0 - lots of steps at work yesterday. Going to try to "maintain" this weekend and see how that goes, I need to start getting that figured out soon as I get even closer to where I want to stay for a while.
9/23 - 148.0 - holding steady
9/24 - 148.6 - We're having a crazy early autumn heat wave so Corona's on the porch were in order yesterday...and then wine with dinner, and after...so this is an alcohol induced gain. Lots of water as we enjoy another hot humid September day today.
9/25 - 148.6 - So hot here!! I'm feeling puffy from the heat, and didn't get out for my regular run with the dog yesterday because it was afternoon by the time we got back from the boys hockey and both the dog and I would have melted into a puddle in the woods had we attempted it. I don't think we're supposed to get a break from this until Wednesday
9/26 - 149.0 - Expecting TOM sometime this week so this is heat and hormones
9/27 - 148.6 - back here again. TOM cravings...but not TOM yet (stupid Perimnopause...so unpredictable). Wanted peanut butter so bad yesterday, 2 jars in the cupboard, the brand new full one and the one with the last little bit...I actually took the one with the last little bit instead of going to town on the new one with a spoon...AND I weighed it before and after I cleaned it out so it was only 24g...kind of proud of myself

9/21 - 166.8 Okay, I moved into a new construction neighborhood. But do they really have to start the heavy work at 7 AM on my day off?! (Yes, official work hours are 7-7, I knew that but argh)

9/23 – 167.4 I'd forgotten how annoying an uptick trend like this is. Won't worry about it, I know I was within my calorie limit the last few days.

Back again!I started midway through Round 2 at 153.9 on 4/29. Ended Round 16 at 141. I'm at roughly .5 a week loss. For this round I'd like to hit the 140's and stay in the 40's or below .

9/21 141.4 Over on salt and carbs... It'll go away ...No formal exercise yesterday, just cleaning, cooking (on feet a lot) and chasing 2 yr old around. Today, ellip or sumthin. Happy Thursday.
9/22 141.6 Did therapy at gym and pool exercise class. Ate clean and below on cals and carbs. Gotta be water weight. Come on, 140's, I'm waitin' for you. Another pool class today.
9/23 141.4 Another pool class. Slept late. Need to take a day of rest. Happy weekend, all!
9/24 142.4 rested and ate all kinds of things. Was worth it. Had a delightful day off from everything.
9/25 142... Come on, already. Give me a number in the 140's. Halfway through, better get super serious. I've gotten lax.
9/26 141.4 Going down again, finally. Did an hour on ellip yesterday. My goals for today: 1 hr ellip, gym-therapy/strength training if possible, eat clean. No processed food.
9/27 141 .. Yes, keep going in that direction. No exercise yesterday but deep cleaning family room, moving furniture, etc. Stayed below on macros, calories and carbs. Today ellip, I hope. Full time watching a 2 year old really puts a crimp on my gym time.

9/25 - 159.8lbs - oh boy ~ wrong direction! Frustrating that my tweaked knee is keeping me from getting my steps in. Thankful the weekend is over!

9/20 : 196.6 hey good number to start this round...hoping not to bounce around too much
9/21: 197.6 Yesterday was a bad day for me. I binged on almost everything in sight. And idk why....I was just weak. So was very happy to see this number this AM. But tbh i obsessed over my weight all day and I'm worried I may be slipping into a bad cycle. . I literally stepped on the scale like 10 times...I ran todayfor 30 mins...I don't run ever....And Then worked out for an hour. *sigh* I know this isn't good for me.
9/21: 197.2 got a good workout in this morning.....then ate all my calories back in Taco Bell! Oops tommorow should be interesting
9/22: 198.6 because salt, alcohol, TOM, and not enough water
9/23: got a good workout today, weighed myself but forgot to write it down.
9/24: didn't work out today. Tried to avoid the scale
9/25: 206.5 workout this AM. I know this is crazy water weight from TOM! So not worried. Just so weird to see the number jump SOOO much in only 2 days
9/26: 203 this AM. Didn't work out this morning but will make sure to get it done this after work and try to hit my steps goal! Trying to see 199 before the end of this round!8 -
