To day is a bit of a bad day ... this year really but today is not a good one my bothers cat died to day the cat dint really like me but that's is a different story its sad to see a family member go (yes a pet is part of them family).7

I'm sorry for the loss of your brother's cat. The are part of the family. Three of my babies (I had six(!) cats) died in an 18 month time span. I felt like I never stopped crying. Your family has my sincere sympathy.
If you must eat your feelings, limit it to only today, and log it as best as you can. One day won't do much damage, but it is easy to fall back into old patterns, especially when grief is involved.0 -

I'm sorry to hear that. I believe pets are family as well and it is hard when they pass. My condolences to you and your family. I'm sure that kitty lived a happy and fulfilled life. ❤0 -

I know slow is key and setting a time limit is not good and im more then likely setting my self up to fail.
Then don't set yourself up for failure, and do it right. At your weight, 200lbs in a year might be doable -- you're likely to lose a lot at the beginning, but this will slow down. The closer you are to your goal, the slower the loss.
If you believe what you're doing will set you up for failure, guess what -- that will always be in the back of your mind and you will fail. And if you set a "goal" of 200 lbs in a year, how are you going to keep from beating yourself up if you don't reach it?I know it my sound odd but i want to be able to start training for a spartan race next year if i can lose the weigt . i know its more then likely never going to happen but its a goal to try to work to all the same.
When I started my weight loss, my doctor suggested focusing on what I was eating and putting off exercise until later. At your weight, I wouldn't even attempt exercise without talking to my doctor -- and I suspect your doctor's answer would be, start out with slow walking and work up to something more vigorous. Ruin your knees or have a heart attack, and you may live with the consequences for the rest of your life.
The other thing is - if you want to lose and keep it off forever, that means making permanent lifestyle changes, not going on a "diet". Anyone who's dieted over and over again knows that if you believe the "diet" is over, you return to your previous habits - and the weight comes back on, sometimes putting you in worse shape than when you started. A healthier set of goals would be: log your calories, eat more whole grains and healthier fats, eat more veggies and fruits, but stay within your calorie budget.
Your calorie goal seems high because you're so heavy. The goal will go down as you lose weight. You can try different weights with your stats using this calculator and see how the maintenance calories change:

I have dropped my calories from 2990 to 1648. I dont seem have gone over 1200 the last week so i dont think 1648 is a bad drop.6

I'm 244lbs now, I'm eating 2000 a day and dropping 2.8lbs per week
you can easily eat 2000 dude and drop plenty of weight
absolutely no good reason to starve yourself and if you persist there are counterproductive hormonal changes
1200 is nowhere near enough13 -

Iv moves them back up to 2400 still 590 less then where they where. If i get to the 2400 may be a different story but at least there are there if i need them.5

the reason you are not hungry is because you have very high levels of a hormone called leptin
this will remain high for a long time yet as you have a lot of weight to lose - I am in exactly the same boat
I'm on day 88 and I'm still not hungry, not been hungry really yet.
However, not being hungry is not the only issue. You need to make sure you are nourished and that you are not in a catabolic state
when your deficit is greater than about 750 cals in one day your body 'eats itself' to provide the energy it needs to function - and it doesn't differentiate between fat and muscle mass. You need to maintain as much of your muscle mass as you can because it will take you a long time to lose your weight
So, what you need to do is maintain a deficit around 1000 a day, any more than that is counterproductive.
When you start increasing youractivity you could eat a few of those calories
You may not feel hungry but that does not mean you don't need food.

It's not about making mfp happy. It's about getting proper nutrition and about your long term success. You're a very big guy, there's lots of you to nourish as you lose weight. Sometime soon, you will be hungry, and you need to have learned how to eat by then, especially as there are others in your household who may not have the same dietary needs or interests as you. If you're able, see a registered dietitian. Did I see in this thread you have thyroid tumors? Thyroid tumors may or may not cause symptoms, but it's one more thing you may need medical help managing. The point is to get adequate nutrition for your body... please listen to those who are telling you to eat more.
I know you're short of cash, but check out this list and see if there's anything there you can add to your diet to bump up your calories. Some of these options aren't too expensive.

I havent done your maths but 1648 seems far too low - I can maintain my weight on 1710 and I am a shortish 50ish year old woman.
Even my losing calories were 1460.
I cant imagine, at your stats, that yours are only 150 more than mine were.
Plug your stats in to MFP and eat ( aproximately, on average) that much - dont get silly ideas of self customising your calorie level - there is nothing to gain by doing that.

Please, please eat more... seriously, you are truly setting yourself up for failure and future health issues in reducing your calories so low. You will have to drop them as you lose weight anyway and if you drop them too low now, you will literally have nowhere to go. Regardless of how obese you are, your body still needs a certain amount of nutrition to sustain it and you are more likely to end up binge eating eventually when this extreme deficit catches you up. Faster is not always better. I have seen it so often on here... people drop and drop their calories, say they are not hungry, then a year or two later, they are back here having regained all their weight and more because they could not sustain this sort of deficit.
Hungry or not, there are ways to get food in without it being too filling...peanut butter, full fat dairy, nuts, seeds and even small portions of the foods you have always eaten. You do not have to cut out all of the foods that landed you in this condition... just portion them out and fit them in and for goodness sakes, at least get in 2k calories.14
