Thanks for all your support ladies - it's been so great to be losing weight after battling for so long with gaining.
Thought I would share something with you all that my husband found...
www.sports-tracker.com - you can track your walking, running, hiking, cycling etc using your mobile phone (smart phone with gps required). I have set up my account and will track my walk tomorrow morning and let you know how it goes!
Congrats Erykah on reaching a 'healthy' BMI and so close to the 130's too that you should get that milestone too, as I think with Shyloh
Only slight down is I have gone over my calories today (by 132) so I am hoping thats not enough to do any damage.0 -
Im going to check that sports tracker thing out Sara. Cant wait to find out how it goes, Im planning on spending alot of time outside with the kids this week as its supposed to be beautiful weather and since we dont get alot we may as well make the most of it. So would be good to track what im doing
Erykah, great to be in the healthy BMI range well done!
Some great losses for everyone this week, and no gains which is fab.
Macksmama a stay the same is awesome especially being so close to your goal.
I think it was a great idea of Charis to group us together in simular weight ranges. I dont know about you but some of the other challanges i've been in I feel like im letting my team down while they are dropping 3lbs a week and im struggling to shift the same 3lbs I have been trying to shift for what seems forever!
Anyway the chart is updated, just waiting for Amandac72, Collinsky and morefitmom to weigh in so I can post it.
Sara, how are you getting on with the shred? I was plannign on doing ripped in 30 but last friday I realised I only had 2 weeks till I went on holiday so im shredding extreme between now and then! 2 sessions of the shred every day so I can fit 30 days into 15 + 200 crunches a day. I very much doubt it will be bikini weather down in cornwall but im not taking any chances :laugh:0 -
Hey guys, sorry to have been a bit absent, had a crazy few days
I feel bad to have to come in and post a gain  but I weigh in this week at 145. I think its the first time I have gained (without having been away) for ages. So annoyed with myself, don't even have an excuse for it, just bad choices :grumble:
So I am kicking myself in the butt and getting back on track!! Had a great day yesterday and thanks to Sara's walking challenge I jumped on the treadmill last night and did 5km. I have a treadmill that has been sadly neglected the last few months, so I promise to get in at least 30mins every day, or at least most days!!!
Alrighty, time to get myself off the couch and onto that treadmill
Great work hot mamas, you are all doing so well, I hope it will rub off on me :bigsmile:0 -
Hi Team, I haven't been able to check in as much as usual lately but I am still sticking to my goals. I did some kickboxing aerobics yesterday and my eating was well within my calorie limits. Glad to see all of you are still hanging in there in spite of any weekly challenges that have come about. That's what it is all about. Sticking to it through your up and your downs. {{pats on the back for Amandac72}}
Have a great week!0 -

We all have bad weeks dont let it get you down, the good thing is you back on track.
I'd also like to say I have a treadmill that is sadly neglected too. I must say in recent weeks its been more of a clothes horse than a treadmill but walking / running is not my favourite. I am going to make a concious effort this week with it though!!0 -
Oh Amanda I had you at 145 last week too so its not a gain its a stay the same so the bad week didnt do any harm

Well done on the loss morefitmom xx0

Hi all - a quick update on the sports-tracker app. Did my walk this morning and it said I'd done 9.69km, but I remeasured it on google maps in detail and its 7.78km so thats nearly 25% over - not impressed. Searched for another free app and found Endomondo. Tested this on a quick walk to Asda and back and these seems more accurate. I will give it a proper test on my long walk on Thursday morning.
30DS day 11 (day 1 at level 2) - cardio wasn't really a problem (other than sweating and heavy breathing!!) but my arms struggled to hold my weight (always have had no upper body strength!) More practice needed!
Normally I would only do my long walk on Tue and Thu but if my thesis is going ok I might do it Friday as well. I could do with it being 10 degrees cooler in the morning though!0 -
Hey everyone,
Thanks for your kind words, it makes me so much more motivated to get back on track I don't feel so bad now I know that I did'nt bring you girls down with a gain, my weight has been so up and down lately its hard to keep track.
The great news is as of this morning I had lost the weight I put on after my nightmare weekend and even lost a little extra so I am down to 142.4  Woohoo now I just need to keep it up!!
Well I have been going well with my walking and am now 10.5km down so far for the month. I use RunKeeper to track my walks/runs. It seems to work well and you can choose different activities like walking, running or cycling etc. Mine is set to tell me as I do each km and it gives you your pace as well. Don't know how accurate it is, I have never checked!!
We are having some really nice weather (considering it is winter still) and my Husband and I went out for a lovely walk with the boys in the double pram, even took the dog. Only managed 3km before the boys decided they had had enough but it was good to get out in the sun.
I'm off to a new gym tomorrow, got a really cheap 6 week trial so I thought I might as well give it a go seeing as my Husband is home sometimes during the day now and I can get out without having to worry about the boys. I'm hoping to do some of the classes, they have a beginners spin class I'm keen to try, I'm a bit scared of spin so I thought a beginners class may be a little easier
I hope you are all having a great week.

WHO WANTS TO BE A HOT MOM? - GROUP RESULTS, 8/1 Weigh-In
Way to go, Groups 3 & 4!! You've had two weeks of all members checking in, and your numbers are showing the difference!
One member suggested listing "% of weight loss" per group. When I ran the numbers, I didn't feel they were a good reflection of the weight lost, as some members only have to lose a very small percentage of their current weight to get to their goal weights while others have to lose a much larger percentage. Let's just keep on tracking "% to GW." Hopefully, some groups will make it to the GW's before the challenge ends!
Please take a minute to review the following goal weights and percentages for your team listed below. I received these numbers from either the original "Who Wants to Be a Hot Mom" posting or from your group posting. This "Goal Weight" is the weight you would like to be on December 31, 2011 -- the official end of this challenge. If your goal weights are not accurate, then the "% to GW" column will not reflect your progress. For example, members with "% to GW" of 8.69% or higher as of today are on track to reach their group goal weights by December 31.
If you are below 8.69%, don't sweat it! You still have 21 weeks to get to your GW! If you would like to make a change, just send me a message.

Sara are you in the UK? Its not often I hear someone has taken a trip to Asda on this website
Let us know know how the endomondo app goes with your next walk. Its it for Andriod or Iphone?

Amanda, good news on the loss! Well done! My weight is all over the place too. I seem to be a certain weight at TOM spend the next few weeks dropping a small amount then right back to where I was when TOM shows up again. Its so frustrating. Weekends are my downfall I think. I find it really hard to get any exercise in as both Steve and I work most of the week when we are both home at the same time we are so busy doing stuff with the kids. Plus I do like to have a cheeky drink at the weekend.
The way i see it though is I need a life style change I can stick to even when im at my goal so even if it takes a bit longer to get there at least when I do I know I'll be able to stick with it. Hope that makes sense.... it does in my head
Anyway I hope you have fun at spin. I've never been. The thought scares me a little too. But actually so did body pump but when I actually went I loved it so maybe I should give spin a chance too. I'd love to join the gym but mine and steves schedules conflict so much its just not possible at the moment. I'll just take advantage of my sister in laws free guest passes for the time being xx0 -
Heres our updated chart. Was waiting for collinsky but she doesnt seem to be around at the moment so for this week i've just kept her weight the same.

So tired today that I actually gave up on 30DS 5 mins in this morning. Still went for my long walk though so not feeling too bad. Done nearly 27km out of the 40km I set myself at the beginning of the week!0

Colleen how was you 5k?
Thanks for asking! It was amazing. So much fun, and a lot of work - it was a trail race, so it was through the woods, up over hills, across fields... really beautiful. I tripped and ended up with a sprained ankle, so I've been out of commission this whole week - even doing my daily life is a challenge with my ankle acting up.
I jogged the first mile and a half, and then jog/walked the next half mile. Once I hit the two mile mark, I thought, "Oh, good, more than halfway there!" ... little did I know that last mile was twenty miles long! LOL It definitely seemed it, and I walked almost all that. They put the most challenging part of the course - steepest hills, lots of double-backs in the trail, etc, at the end. I ended up finishing at about 54 minutes, which averages to about a 17 minute mile. Obviously, my first mile was faster than that, and my last mile probably took most of that time. It's not a stellar showing, of course, but I was proud to come in at under an hour, and that's my time to beat next 5K. :-) I know I did much, much better than I would have just a few months ago, so there's nowhere to go but up!0 -
Oh no, how is your ankle now? Under and hours is great especially since you were injured. Not sure id do it in that time for my first attempt. And like you said now you have something to beat! Have you got another one planned?
xx0 -
Hi mamas. I hope everyone had a great weekend! Looks like we've all been busy, (it's been awfully quiet on this thread haha)
We spent to weekend out of town @ a family reunion and visiting friends. It was a great time!
Not looking forward to weighing in tomorrow am though

Weekend was difficult. Didn't manage to get in much of a work out at all (other than 30DS) and father-in-law's birthday on Sunday meant cake etc so struggled to stay inside my calories. Will be weighing in shortly, then I am going to do at least an hour of workout this morning (LTT + 30DS + Zumba!) If I have managed to stay under 140 I'll be pleased.0
-
Loving it! Despite a large slice of cake and very little activity this morning I weigh in at 138.75 lbs. Also lost 0.75inch off my waist since last week! If I can manage to up my exercise this week maybe I can do even better!0
-
Fantastic Sara
I had a bit of a naughty weekend too but luckily it didnt effect me too much. Hopefully it was the extra exercise I got in s
during the week this week that contributed!!
142.6 this week. A loss of 0.6.
Good luck everyone xx0 -

Thanks Beccy
I notice you didn't have my intermediate goal in your table last time so here it is again...
SW: 142 lbs
IGW: 129 lbs by 5th September (my son's 2nd birthday)
GW: 119 lbs (which will be my lowest weight since I was a teenager, not counting one year when I was ill)0 -
Oh sorry...
I must of missed it when you posted it before I'll make sure its included this time!0 -
Hey girls, good job keeping the losses up even with big weekends!! I was going well until Sunday dinner at Mother In Laws. Not really bad food but everything is cooked in lots of oil and big servings, yummy though  Did'nt help that I was'nt feeling fantastic and did no exercise at all over the weekend. Oh well back to it today and been to the gym, did the beginners spin class which nearly killed me, I don't know how anyone can do a whole hour of that  Great workout though, I can see why it is so popular. Then I did 3km on the treadmill after and my legs are a little sore now, think I will feel it tomorrow!!
So I weighed in this morning at 142.4 which means I finally have a loss  yeah, about time!! and only a little gain over the weekend so I'm pretty happy.0 -
Good morning ladies!
I kinda fell off the wagon on Friday night and gave in to temptation, but got back on track on Saturday.
I worked my butt off all week doing my workouts and did my best to drink my water.
I did up my calorie goal a bit. I found out my BMR was a bit low on this site,so I looked it up on this one:
http://www.fat2fitradio.com/tools/bmr/
I've lost another pound! Down to 139 lbs! Yay me!
Good luck ladies, don't get discouraged...I know you can do it!:flowerforyou:0 -
GM ladies! I hope you all had a great weekend.
I am really struggling ladies to get back on track. It seems like I have ran out of motivation to fight of these last pounds and it is starting to show.
My weight is a gain this week. I am back up to 135.2 lbs... sigh
I have to get my mogo back somehow before I send me back to square one!
I am glad you ladies are doing so well. Keep up the good work.0
