Which "QUOTE" has helped you in this journey?

I guess it could be a quote but one day while my brother and I were out to eat I called myself fat... and something he said stuck with me... "It's not fat, it's muscle in training" ... My brother is one of my biggest supporters and motivators.6

I don't know if this has been posted yet or not but THE most important quote I've come across in my weight loss journey is: "Consistency is EVERYTHING." This has proven to be SO true. Also, "Eat right to lose weight. Exercise to gain muscle." MFP has proven to be incredibly inspiring and so, so helpful in my journey.1

My daughter emailed me this Tibetan proverb:
The secret to living well and longer is: eat half, walk double, laugh triple and love without measure.12 -

"I already know what giving up feels like. I want to see what happens if I don't."5

Someone telling me "You have to learn to walk before you can fly." was what got me to face my fear and go into the gym. I repeat it to myself whenever I feel like I'm not making progress as fast as I want.1

Vanessalookingood wrote: »"There is no end to this journey." When this truly hit home, it really helped to "remove the urgency" of losing this weight overnight. I will never reach a day where I am at goal weight, "cured" and able to eat whatever I want, whenever I want and still maintain. At this moment I am learning and living a new way of life, treating myself along the way and plan on continuing this way of life indefinitely.
I really like this. I like how you pointed out that it helped you "remove the urgency" of losing weight. Because you are so right. When you get to your goal weight you still have to keep working to keep yourself healthy! This will help me "forgive myself" when I have had a bad day or bad week! And to just keep moving forward even if I fall off for a few days.1 -

Love this stream.
I have lots, but the one I tend to repeat regularly..."What doesn't challenge you doesn't change you".
Also with reference to the "losing weight is hard" quote, I also read one that said "losing weight isn't hard, losing a loved one is hard, child birth is hard, but losing weight isn't hard". Ya, I'm struggling with it too!!!4 -

I read this thread a year ago and it's helped me so much, so I wanted to come back and bump it up for you all now.
One of the quotes: A year from now, you'll wish you had started today. This is me - sitting right here right now, grateful for the progress I've made over the past year. I haven't achieved perfection, but no matter. I am still journeying, putting one foot in front of the other, making each day the best I can make it, not stopping.
Wishing you all a 2018 of progress, happiness and good health xxx

"I can and I will." I bought myself a bracelet with that saying on it when I hit my halfway mark of 20lbs lost. I'm now just shy of 30lbs down. It's my journey, I own it, I can, and I will.
