Recap W 1/3 - Lower back feeling better, easing myself back on treadmill. Hit snooze alarm at 5:30 a.m. at least 3 times, but up by 6 a.m. I am NOT a morning person.
1) Walked 2 miles on treadmill before work / 37:42 / back not great but ok
2) Move hourly / stairs breaks at work = Fitbit 12,659 steps, 250+ steps 14/14 (boom!) hours & 35 floors
3) Today is leftovers for lunch and supper / net calories green = Net calories, sodium & sugar all red, but not horrible 14c water (maybe I can flush calories away)
4) Update my reasons why & post = Done
5) Complete "2017 5 accomplishments" list & post = Done
6) Evening: make cranberry banana bread (food day in office R), wash dishes, go thru pile of mail = 3x done
7) Floss / retainers / bed & TV off 10:15 = 2x done & big nope, more like 11:00
JFT T 1/4 - Back stiffened up on me after treadmill yesterday, so decided to rest it a little longer, because it is improving. At least the alarm got set for 6:30 a.m. instead of 5:30. Due to wind chills below zero (again ), workplace snowshoe hike at lunchtime has been canceled. Bummed. But that's probably a good thing for my back.
1) Move hourly / stairs breaks at work (I have a desk job)
2) Almost forgot, it's food day in office for co-worker with Christmas birthday / be picky, eat small portions, do not eat everything and log best I can
3) Leftovers (healthy) for lunch and supper / net calories w/i 100 green
4) Evening; choir canceled due to water main break / use time to declutter or catch up something 30 min.
5) Floss / retainers / bed & TV off 10:156 -

Sounds like a hot bath with salts, soothing candles and music is the ticket With that chilly weather and sore back.....I'd gladly settle for a soak in the tub!!
You're doing great!! Don't push yourself too much, let yourself recover. Back issues are no joke. I hope you feel better soon.5 -
Hi everyone. I listed my goals for today, last night. However, after really taking a good hard look at where I'm at mentally right now, I've decided to make different ones and start over with baby steps.
I think my willpower has crashed. I don't have the New Year's drive that I normally do. And it's evident in how I'm eating and sitting on my *kitten*. I have to wonder if I was in fight mode for so long in 2016 and 2017 because of all the stress going on that my brain just wants to rest and catch up with my new normal?
Just for Thursday:
1. Journal every bite honestly. Don't leave out one single Hershey kiss. Don't worry about staying in the green at this point, just get in the habit of tracking EVERY single bite.
2. Increase water intake. At least eight 8 oz glasses
3. Activity tonight. Even if it is 15 minutes. Get some.
4. Rewrite my Advantages Resource index cards from Day 1 of Beck Diet Solution.
5. Look at menu online for Margarita's restaurant where our boss is taking us for lunch today and pick something healthy.
6. Take one hour of "me" time today to rejuvenate by doing something I enjoy and find relaxing.
Good thing I have this thread....JUST FOR TODAY. Every single day is a new beginning and a new chance to get it right!
Have a great day!
@cschmitz110515 I agree with you about the weather here in Green Bay. It's crazy cold and I'm already sick of it!7 -
I love inspirational quotes!
" In 30 days.....you will thank yourself!

Just for today I will love myself and stay within my calorie goal.6

Thank you for the suggestions! I love the idea of a soothing hot soak, and I have the salts. Think tonight after my declutter burst, I will do that! My lower back has been my "Achilles heel" for a few years now. Just glad I am mobile and not in screaming pain, but I hate being so inactive now that I got myself in the habit of walking again.5 -

YES - I did. Look for the "Green" trail. Hahaha.3 -
This time of year usually my will power is so strong, but for some reason, I am really struggling. I think all the sugar and junk over the holidays, and that's all I want and crave! And it doesn't help that hubby is the same way.
The freezing cold weather is not helping!
SO, I have to remind myself of what I want to look like next spring - when I dig out those shorts and no longer hiding behind a sweater
So here is Day 4 of the Beck Diet Solution, and reminders of the first 3 days.
Day 1 -- Create a index card saying why you want to lose weight. Make duplicates of these, and place them in places where you see them - like in the car, in the kitchen, in the office. Read these at least four times a day, every day
Day 2- pick a diet plan you wish to follow. Whether it be low carb, calorie counting, etc.
(This was easy for me, since I am just counting calories.)
Day 3
Eat only when sitting down!!!! Create a Response card reminding myself to eat only while sitting. (read this everyday also)
Task for Day 4: Give Yourself Credit
By consciously giving yourself credit, you'll reinforce your self-confidence and build an awareness that you're strong and in control. When you give yourself credit everytime you do something right, through, you can more easily see such slips as momentary mistakes, not earthshaking events, and you can head off a sense of hopelessness. (this also will be hard for me to do, but I'm working on it)
Day 4 to-do list:
Read the Advantages Response Card at least twice
Create a reminder system for giving myself credit for something I did right today
Sit down at all times to eat
Give yourself credit5 -

Welcome back = we missed you! I am also trying to dig out of that bowl of sugar LOL!!!6 -
Thursday Goals
- Get up at 7.30-8am already done.. at 5am
- No biscuits or crisps or anything snacky, need to get out of Christmas mode and eat 3 proper meals. yes done very well with this only had one bite size brownie because I was starrrrrrving
- Shopping day! See if I can sneak some baby stuff into the shopping shopping was a disaster!
- Ask my partner AGAIN to go in the attic to see what baby stuff we have already he said he will maybe his weekend which was better than the “no” I got earlier.
- Fill in some bullet Journal. .. May do this later
I’m sure there’s other stuff I need to do but can’t remember!
Have a good day everyone!
Shopping was awful. My eldest has been a right pain in the neck today and I was at the end of my tether with her. So daddy held her hand round the shop and I pushed the trolley. Half way round we did have to swap because I just couldn’t push it anymore.
Then I got such a bad case of Braxton Hicks I thought I was going into labour!
I was so hot and sweating and my stomach was so sore and tight. Luckily found a seat and sat there for a moment. The cashiers were watching like “is this lady about to drop lol”
But managed to compose myself and finished the shop.
She’s pressing really hard against my upper stomach today and it’s getting uncomfortable.
So other than the general cleaning, I think a nice long bath is needed to relax!
But I’ve not had snacks today! Which is so good! I feel better for it!
I think I had cereal for breakfast, a yoghurt, and half a pot of noodles with my partner and about to do the lamb stew I was meant to do yesterday. So 3 okayish meals with a lot less sugar!
Antenatal appt tomorrow I think. (I hope it wasn’t today lol)5 -
@Bex953172 Sometimes you can have those cramps due to dehydration! With all the shopping and walking around, make sure you are drinking plently of water. I hope you enjoy your relaxing bath3
-
jft. i'm almost out of calories due to a bigger breakfast. eek! So an hour of yoga is in order. stay under my carbs goal, i'm almost done with water already.
Yesterday, came close on my calories, over 84 calories. over by 9 carbs (yay!) swam 20 minutes instead of 30, which was disappointing, until i remembered that on monday i ate half a bag of cadbury chocolate. No wonder i felt awful yesterday!4 -
@joan6630 I love the idea of giving yourself credit. Kind of what you guys do here. A friend of mine, was advised to actually keep a journal with all the things that she accomplished for the day. Even if it was as simple as getting up on time, going to work, remembering to bring a lunch. She suffers from severe depression, so of course she always thinks that she doesn't ever do anything right. This seems to help her some.6

You be careful Bex!!! Don't want you going into labour!!!! I think you are doing so great though with setting goals! Hope you have fun shopping for baby stuff! That is always so much fun! But hopefully today you rest a lot, and soak in that nice hot bath!4 -

i absolutely will! Idk if it's just still sugar detox ( i did eat half a bag of chocolate monday...) or getting back into school routine. I just feel like poo.4 -
Happy New Year. This is a great post and looks really supportive and just what I'm looking for ☺️
I'd love to join ☺️
My January goals are
1. To log absolutely everything I eat.
2. To drink 8 glasses of water a day.
3. Not to drink any alcohol.
4. To exercise for 10 minutes every day to start with - building up to 20 minutes every day by the end of the month.
5. To lose the weight that I put on over Christmas (7lb)
6. To complete the 28 day Bootea Detox (even though I've been told it's a waste of time - I've already bought it!!!
The one I'm not doing so great at is number 2.
Good luck to everyone.4 -
Today was slightly less good. I had a stressful and unproductive day at work and ended up leaving later than planned. Following this there were tube (subway!) issues which meant it took me ages to get home and additionally all the transport was overcrowded which made the journey stressful. As a result I really didn't feel like exercising when I got home.
HOWEVER despite all this I refrained from snacking/ over eating (and I did think about it on the way home) which I'm going to count as a win! Let's hope I can keep that up I'll do the exercise on Sunday instead.
Today's commitments were -
- Log everything I eat
- No snacks except Ryvita if hungry
- Be in the green (without eating back exercise kcals)
- Leave work by 5.30
- Do exercise DVD
Tomorrow's commitments are:
- Log everything I eat
- No snacks except Ryvita if hungry
- Be in the green (without eating back exercise kcals)
- Go to gym before starting work
- Go for walk at lunch (to maintain sanity!)
- Ration access to work emails in order to get some b&oody work done!!!
- Listen to music to boost mood
