01/21: 217.4
01/22: 217.4 ---Ate a sensible Sunday dinner, however my son and I had 2 servings of apple pie a la mode, with the excuse of getting it gone so we would not eat on it all week . But, I did do an hour of intense cardio to burn some of it up. His 18th birthday is tomorrow, so we will be doing cupcakes to celebrate instead of an eat on all week cake.
01/23: 217 ----Got to be on my P's and Q's today with a birthday in the house since I finally got back down to my low from round 28. The scale actually showed 216 three times in a row, then 217 twice so I'm just going with 217
01/24: 217.4--- Well I did good with the cupcakes-only had one, but the ground beef from the baked spaghetti my son requested for his birthday dinner is weighing heavy on the stomach this morning. Can't complain though because I knew this would happen before I ate it.

01/21 - 144.9 Started weighing in de morning for more consistency, so lower was to be expected. Still keeping under my caloriegoal though and did a good workout today
01/22 - 144.1 This is going better than I thought, eating healthy and working out makes such a difference vs binge eating every day. Wonder if I can keep it up though.
01/23 - 144.8 Went out for dinner last night and ate a lot. Today's been full of carbs also, so I'll try to do a workout tonight.

1/18 - 132.6 - Yesterday at least walked, got my 10K steps, under calories just barely with some extras.
1/19 - 131.6 Bang! - I will bounce but still super good to see. Yesterday well under calories, ran 3.5
1/20 - 132.2 - Yesterday under calories, 4 mile run on the cool dark streets. Working on hydration this weekend, channeling cschmitz110515
1/21 - 132.6 - yesterday did not workout, emo day. Today so far, had trouble packaging up my granola batch without over-tasting it! OMG. Off to the gym, I GOTTA.
1/22 - 132.2 - Yesterday under calories, got steps done, and short workout on our new rower - anticipating sore shoulders! Kinda struggling with low mood lately.
1/23 - 131.6 - Yesterday under calories. No workout other than a few extra steps.
1/24 - 131.6 - Yesterday under calories, no workout, worked 12 hours, some day!

I'm back. Let's see if I can get down to 160 at least even though my "new" low is 158. The slower it comes off the more likely it will stay off. I just lost a lot very fast due to having the flu and sinus issues. Good luck ladies and gents.

1/18: 160.4 I haven't been drinking very well lately, and I expect this number to be up tomorrow, but I'm hoping I'm wrong. Lol
1/19: 160.4 Wow! I'm maintaining, but I've been in the 160's since November. I'm over it. Lol
1/20: 162 Too much sodium and not enough water I believe, but since I've been fluctuating between 3 lbs forever. Who knows.
1/21 163.6 I haven't seen this number in a long time, but I'll be honest with myself here. I ate whatever I wanted for dinner. High calories. Lots of carbs. Lots of sodium. It was family movie night. I positively hate seeing that number, but I so enjoyed my meal.
1/22 161.4 I pushed fluids yesterday and went back to my normal diet. I also biked for 30 minutes. I have 5 more days to see that 160. Let's do this!
1/23 161.2 I pushed fluids yesterday, ate well, and put in more steps than I have been for awhile now. It's not a big loss, but I'll take it.
1/24 161.6 Not going to lie peeps. I'm starting to get really frustrated. I'm eating well and within my calories. I'm drinking between 50 to 60 oz of fluid. I started walking more and even got back on my exercise bike. I totally don't get it. Also, my 9-year-old has a fever of 101. Boo! I was up every 2 hours checking on him, and then, we had freezing rain. My school district has another snow day, and so does his because of it. Now, I can just be Mommy today. That's a plus.

I love the fact that we support each other through the good times and the bad, the ups and downs, and in all facets of our lives which we choose to share. I know there are lurkers out there and I hope they read the posts daily because the support is spectacular. I’m so thankful that @cyranda63 has been so dedicated to keeping this thread running. Long-term Focus: In the normal range for my age height and build, on maintenance.
December was a very indulgent month. This round, I am focused on losing my holiday baggage.
I HAVE the power and determination to do this.
Primary Goal - 160lbs +/- 2lbs. Lose 1lb per round.
to Round 29
This has given me a motivational element of daily accountability.
Observations, and Previous Rounds
Many events along the way will scupper our best intentions, but they merely delay the achievement of our goals. Life is for living, and one must learn patience. It takes many years to put on excess weight, so It follows that it takes much time to remove, but it does come off, bit by stubborn bit! If you stick with it! The game continues!
A lot of people get upset by apparent weight gain when they have been working their butts off. Body weight fluctuates, both up, and down, from one day to the next depending on so many factors. From my experience:- Changes often take several days to show on the scale.
- A drop is often followed by a bounce up before it settles back down. A general downward trend is the aim.
- A high sodium day usually results in a gain due to water retention, unless you drink extra fluids to flush it out.
If you are making positive lifestyle changes it will lead to increased health and fitness.
Slow and steady leads to sustainable weight loss.
But remember to live a little along the way!

That much is obvious. But more importantly, even when I'm tracking, it's SO HARD TO START AWAY FROM. My wife loves clam chowder, and bought some for dinner last night. More than 2000 mg of sodium in one serving!!! We both shop for groceries, but I had to have a "come to jeebus" moment with her about it, including an explanation of what 2300 mg looks like (one teaspoon). I've decided to take complete charge of my health. In addition to cooking more, I'm not going to eat anything without looking at the damned label, and I'm not going to eat things that are super high in Na+. On a positive note, I'm still happy with my weight progress. I have two pairs of work pants I couldn't button two weeks ago, but that I can now wear comfortably.

@nikki062181 I used to get super frustrated with my weight staying the same. Eventually I noticed a pattern - I basically stay the same for 3.5 weeks, then at the same time in my cycle every month the weight drops, I then stay the same again for 3.5 weeks. Maybe there's a pattern there that you haven't spotted yet? I found my motivation much higher once I figured that out!12

@nicolabradley87 Maybe. I'll have to start paying more attention I guess. Thanks for the advice.4

Happy to see this as I had a bit of a pig out yesterday. Nothing all that great, just ate more than usual and went over my goals. Back on track today.
01/19 - 146.8
On track yesterday and I walked and was active packing for a move, so this is, I think, holdover from Wednesday's excesses. Going out for lunch today, but I have the day planned and I'll be on track again. Sooner or later....
01/20 - 146.8
Let's hear it for consistency! (It's better than gaining, it's better than gaining...)
01/21 - 147
Sigh. I did eat over my goal yesterday, although not by much. I was hungry. I really struggle with being hungry at night. I'm thinking of trying a bigger breakfast with lots of protein & good fat, which always holds me over most of the day, so I eat less at lunch and dinner. I'm avoiding "shoulds," so no "should not eat after dinner" for me. I just end up breaking my rule and feeling bad about it. I know I do better in terms of both hunger and weight loss on the days when I have a big breakfast or lunch and skip dinner, then eat 300 or so healthy calories later. (Thinking onscreen here ).
01/22 - 146.8
Longing for good weather & long walks. But I'm going to suck it up and go walk in circles at the mall for an hour. Beats a treadmill, I guess. Sigh.
01/23 - 146.8
My body obviously thinks its home.
01/24 - 146.8
Yep, just a homebody. However, I measured my waist this morning and I'm down 1.5 inch since Aug, so something's happening. I'm trying a new approach for the next week or so, starting today -- top-loading my daily calories with a big high-protein, high-ish fat breakfast; no lunch or very light, depending on whether I'm hungry; no dinner or very light, depending...; snack around 9 (which I always have), more carby & fatty (like my fav whole grain English muffin with peanut- or almond butter). Same calorie goal, but different distribution. Started this morning with breakfast out - steak & eggs, half cup cottage cheese, 2 pieces whole wheat toast w/butter. I'm thinking I won't be hungry for many hours! (TMI?) Thanks for letting me spell it out for myself.

Sweet! I had to stay in town last night because of a snowstorm. Ended up hanging out with my awesome mama-in-law and then slept on the couch for 13.5 hours! I definitely caught up on all the sleep I lost this week due to work stress and PMS.

1/18 :: 179.7 - Good start to this round! Now let’s see if I can keep it up
1/19 :: 179.8 - Heading into the weekend below 180. Really really need to keep drinking my water and watching what I eat this weekend… maybe this weekend will be the weekend I actually succeed…
1/20 :: 180.1 - Creeping up…
1/21 :: 180.9 - Sodium was up from yesterday… hubby made carnitas with guac AND homemade sopapillas… I did not do well with my portion control
1/22 :: 180.0 - Pleasantly surprised by this, hopefully this will be a good week
1/23 :: 180.5 - Sodium I think got me again yesterday… my mom made some pancit over the weekend and I’ll be having that for lunch until it’s gone. So good, but decent sodium
1/24 :: 180.5 - Happy this didn’t go up, but sad it didn’t go down. I feel like poop though, all sorts of bloated and uncomfortable, blarg.

Day/Weight/Comment
1/18 – loss - my win today is leaving work on time, so I had extra time to make a few different dinners for the next few days to reheat because I know I won't have time to cook for a few days. Probably way too much work for a Thursday but now I have lunches and dinners that are portioned properly and should get me through the weekend. I'm tired but satisfied and greatful for the privilege of time to get this task done.
1/19 – loss - tired.
1/20 – ? - visiting family, no scale. Two birthdays, one slice of cake and no alcohol = win
1/21 – loss - mood cycling low, new goal is to just get through this low and not use food as medication. Greatful for the people who support me.
1/22 – gain - not too bothered, focusing more on the mental, the physical will be a focus once I'm through this part. Aiming for a better tomorrow.
1/23 – gain - not impressed but in the grand scheme it's minor. Mood is getting better so I'm happy for being less low. Work is stressful ATM which likely is helping the gain and not helping the low. Staying dry which is positive, trying to find ways to decompress in healthy ways. Still aiming for a better tomorrow.
1/24 – gain - minor so whatever, better thing is the mood is getting better, so greatful for that. Still eating good, less active cause work is eating my lunch breaks but that will be a better in another week. Going to have to be patient and smart with what I can do. Also might have figured out why the scale has been difficult lately but waiting on that test result, nothing serious, just possibly different...

I need to be mindful of the type of carbs I eat, drink all my water
Day/Weight/Comment
01/18 - 99.4 - Moving in the right direction. No eating after 8PM
01/19 - 99 - Not enough steps in because I was slammed with work, drank my water, but ate dinner after 8
01/20 - 98.3 - Woke up too hungry, hit my water but not food, so I expect this to go up again. Biggest stomach ache ever! I don’t know if it’s the stress from work but wow!!
01/21 - 98.9 Yeah up again, but I was good today with steps, water and food mostly (except for that pesky bakery bread!)
01/22 - 99.3 - Soooo didn't want to see this number! but I do have the week to redress the situation
01/23 - 99 - Have to work through this
01/24 - 98.3 - OK, so I've seen this number this round before the bread blowout, will be mindful today.
