Becca, all the models were naked real life nudists which made it interesting. Of course they shaded out the best parts. lol
Pip, nice picture! You have the prettiest smile.
DrKatie, your poor mom. What a blow to have lost 2 brothers in such a short period of time. ((Hugs))
Ankle has really been bothering me today. Can't wait to get home and get off my feet. Next week is my dr's appt. Hope he has more to offer than the last time I was there.

It's Library Lovers' Month!
For the rest of the month, we can celebrate. "Libraries are a sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life; they offer security and peace and quiet. They are also a place where you can focus surrounded by likeminded people with the desire to acquire knowledge."
Wendy - I admire you for not putting up with any nonsense and both of you for working it out. To be honest I think it's often easier in a lot of ways to just call it quits, but everyone I know who has successfully worked through a rough patch has ended up with a stronger relationship as a result.
Becca - I know what you mean about the hubby's cooking. Most of the stuff Philip knows how to make is high in calories, fat, salt, you name it. But when he actually volunteers to cook, I'm not about to complain. Have been trying to teach him some healthier alternatives, though.
Terry - Glad your daughter is OK!
Cheri - Your Christmas Cactus is lovely! Mine are recovering from a spell of mild neglect during the heat of the summer last year, and didn't bloom this year.
Jean - Stress and life changes can definitely halt or reverse our progress in a hurry! Just go easy on yourself - forgive yourself for getting off track and then get going again in whatever way you are able. Three walks a week are better than none!
Welcome to any newcomers I missed!
Oh my gosh, why do you people talk so much?! I had a morning meeting and by the time I got around to posting I was way behind. Seriously, though, I'm glad we share so much about Life, the Universe, and Everything. One way or another, I think all that stuff factors into our weight loss goals.
It just figures, after a little light spell in January, now that I really need spare time I'm slammed with work. I'm trying to get the house ready for visitors this weekend, but with Philip working late until Friday I don't know how much I'll get done. At least my visitors are family, and they'll understand. They always bring their dogs, though, and their dogs aren't cat-safe so I have to lock my cats up in the bedroom which doesn't seem quite fair.
Still haven't gotten to those errands I needed to do either, and signs point to not getting to it until next week. I have this dream of taking a whole week off sometime this summer... it could just be a pipe dream, but it would surely be nice.
All of you people in cold places, be careful on that ice!

I stayed away from the thread for awhile until I got caught up watching figure skating, partly to avoid reading any "spoilers" from anyone who had watched it live and partly because I was spending so much time riding my bike and watching the skating that I had recorded. Joyce is so kind to not give any hints about results and just talk in general terms but someone else might have said something. I rode the bike for over four hours yesterday and enjoyed every minute of skating that I watched. I did less walking because of the cold temperatures and icy roads so the exercise evened out. My line dance class tomorrow may be cancelled because of the snow. The teacher lives uphill on a private road that won't be plowed if it snows overnight.
My life may seem boring to some, but I've learned that life is best when I do what I want to do rather than what someone else thinks I should be doing. Beyond usual household tasks, I go to line dance classes, walk my dogs for hours every day, and ride my exercise bike while knitting and watching TV. I plan my food for the day ahead of time and stick to the plan. I eat many of the same things over and over because it's what I like. I've never had a better life.

Well, it's been some day!
It started off with me winning the lottery! £2.60. (About $3)
Then around 5.30 we got a phone call to say we had an offer on the house. It's from people who have been twice to look at it and live nearby. They have now sold their house. We are trying to squeeze a tiny bit more money out of them, but will probably take their offer, especially if they are in a good position.
Cue a mad look at properties in Hove on the Internet. Two we like, one especially, but are more expensive. We could just about make up the difference if we can't beat them down. Tomorrow we will hear if they will go up to our price or not and start contacting some agents to go down and view.
Cue a Pernod or two.
Then my GPS watch arrived, which had to be set up, charged etc, which always gives me a headache. I hate technology. I hope it will work. I just want a simple distance/time checker.
So I hope I sleep tonight.
Exciting times!

The movers packed up our son's apt in Houston. He arrived here at our place feeling quite ill. He is laying on the floor moaning. Poor boy. I told him to just relax tonight and tomorrow. He flies out to Chicago on Friday morning. Homeless and unemployed! Gave him some Nauzene and a Dramamine.
The hubs had to go to the Houston campus for a night event and won't be home till after 10 tonight. Several times a month he has to make this trek and I always worry about him travelling home late at night from Houston.
We handed in the papers releasing us from leasing this house for another year. Hubs is in a panic now about purchasing a home. Don't want to get something too soon as we will still owe the rent of $1500 a month thru July. Timing will be tricky. Saw one house we like but it backed up to open land that was zoned commercial. It will all work out I'm sure.

Thanks Katla
I do log every bite for past 3 1/2 years... but sometimes it is hard to see the truth. I still forced myself to keep logging. Not hard to see how the weight came back.
I know cutting back the calories and stepping up the exercise will help. But mostly learning how to better handle the stress - without the sweets!!!
Hugs to you!

Today's is more Easter egg looking. Sorry not a very good picture. Actually it's a lighter green and the beads are darker pink than this looks.
Heather, wow what an eventful day. I am so thrilled with all your exciting news.

Did 30 min HIIT on the elliptical then walked on the treadmill for 20 min. The plan for tomorrow is to use the elliptical and then take the Power Hour class
KJ - sometimes my boobs will get tender at what would be that "time of the month"
Wendy - how horrible! You've certainly had your share of "accidents"
Evie - Vince likes the Peanut Butter Patties in GS cookies. I don't. I buy a lot of those. Now last time he bought the cookies and he got some Thanks a Lot. Fortunately, he finished them tonight so that's no longer here to tempt me. However, the brownies are.
Met my childhood friend and her hubby today. Just had a crab cake and vegetable medley (no butter) and water to drink. Thought I did fairly well.
Well, denise just told Vince that she and Pete are going to move in with his mother in July. Note that she said "his mother" not "his mother and father". I don't know how this is going to be. The father didn't want the dog there at Christmas time because the dog might scratch the wood floors. It's one thing to visit someone, a different thing to live with them. The idea is that she and Pete can save more money for a house. If I'm not mistaken, this is a 55 plus community, I wonder if they can even live there. And what about parking? I wonder if the mother even talked to the father before inviting them to live with them. Or maybe the father isn't living there? Who knows, I know that I don't know the whole story.
For some reason there isn't water going into the dishwasher. Vince went on uTube and sometimes the filters are clogged. So he's going to work on that tomorrow.
Florida has a Sun Pass (like an e-z pass)so vince is looking up about it. Perhaps we will get one? Update: there is something called NC quick pass. Never heard of it. But it looks like you can use it with the Sun Pass, the ez Pass, and something in GA. It's only something like $7. Seems that's the way to go for us.
NYKaren - can't wait to see pics. Your trip sounds so very interesting.
Christine - welcome
Today was such a gorgeous day. Hope tomorrow is so I can go in the pool.
pip - congrats on your streak
Barbara - got the invoice from the magician today. I could swear we only paid him $350 two years ago. Even Vince seems to remember that we paid him $100 deposit and then $250 the night of the performance. Well, his invoice this year is $650! We're going to recheck our payments the last time and then I will probably mention it to him. I'm still going to use the gala's budget and put my figures next to them. I suspect that even with this increase, my figures will still come out lower. Hey, there's a $300 difference. All I have to do is take out the $300 they have for centerpieces and I've got it done.
Rita - prayers for your dh
Jean - welcome. I found that having one of those small cups of applesauce help with the sugar cravings (unsweetened applesauce). With summer coming, I keep one in the freezer. Like sorbet. I also keep some grapes in the freezer. Like an ice pop for the summer and much better for you.
Mary - so glad you found such a great place for Shep
Rye - I always freeze meals in individual portions. It DOES save time and money. Sometime I have to make different foods for Vince, but at least I have something for me (like soup)
Katie - you sure have been busy. Thanks for checking in. Glad the surgery went well, sorry for the deaths
barbie - welcome to the boring life club...lol
Cheri - beautiful blankets. Is that C2C? If so, how long did it take you to make them
Michele in FL for now who got sad today realizing that she'll only be here another few days4 -

How have you all handled menopause and multiple family demands and sugar cravings (mainly nighttime)????? And a DH who brings home fav ice cream and treats almost every night?? .... Hugs to you all, Jean
Jean - one of the things I did was sit down and have a serious discussion with my husband about my need for his support. I happen to be nine years older than my husband, and would like to be able to live into my old age with him (and I'm 57 as well, figure there's 30 years left, minimum!). In order to do that, my environment needs to be good for me, and that includes keeping the snacks and treats out of the house. He's been great about it.
Also, there are options for sweet treats with few to no calories - sugar-free Jell-O is my go-to, gives eating satisfaction and really helps that sweet tooth shut the heck up and quit bugging me!
Heather - Wahoo! I know that feeling exactly, and it has to be terrifically exciting for you, after all the disappointments of last year. It's why I sent my real estate agent flowers after all was said and done! Sounds like yours had the right idea, and put your property up in the way it should have been done. So wonderful to hear!
We've settled on an April 13 leave date for us to head for Arkansas. If Brian doesn't get his early release from Syria, Corey will stay here, and I'll go on ahead. Got our application in for a rental place that's far enough from a large town to be more our preference, but only an hour away from where our son will be staying. Hopefully it will all sort itself out as it should. It's wonderful to hear Johnny excited and looking toward a future again after the way the month began. Hate being torn between the kids, and the thought of being separated from Corey for a while, if it happens, but we'll be OK. Can't believe it's only seven weeks away! Already slated vacation to give me ten days to get there and get things sorted out. Will make for an interesting summer.
Wow, that was a lot of exclamation points.
Hugs to those as needs 'em,
Love y'all,
Lisa in NC (for a little while longer!)

Barbie, I like boring. I’m not one to pack something into every minute of the day. Too stressful for me.
DD feels better but still skipping class tonight which I think is wise. She wants to be better by Friday as she and the guy she had a date with the other day want are going to get together again.
Nighty night ladies.
Terry in VT where it’s supposed to be in the 20’s tonight. I knew the warm weather wouldn’t last.5 -
Janetr, those Easter eggs are beautiful! I envision all kinds of seasonal eggs, Halloween would probably be a lot of fun! Good luck with your venture! Sounds exciting.
Heather, exciting stuff for you too! I have faith that the right place will turn up for the right price for you! So much fun to be looking, will keep my fingers crossed for you.
Terry glad your Dr isn't seriously ill. Shame on her one teacher for giving her grief for missing a class! Her health has to come first.
Lisa, love the Fauxberge egg idea!! Very happy for you that your kids are getting their stuff together! That's got to be a huge relief!
Weigh in day today, down 1.6, (yay!), but I was up 1.2 last week but at least I got rid of it and a small friend! I'm pretty sure I'm retaining water right now, my rings are tight and I'm making a lot of trips to the bathroom so hopefully I can keep up the good habits that I've been working on the past few days and next week will be even better!
