Spartan race is an awesome goal...maybe 2 years though. Put pictures of it on the fridge, pantry, etc. You can do it if you can pull a 180 in your relationship with food. It is sometimes hard stay encouraged and positive. Consider a therapist as a wingman for your transition journey.They will help you over the humps.0

It’s been almost 5 months since your last post. I hope you have been working on getting healthier in that time. I too know first hand what a huge obstacle losing half your body weight seems, but it is possible to do that and more. I went from 350+ to 230 in 14 months. My first suggest is not to focus on such a large number, but commit yourself to getting in as much walking in a day as your back will allow. Push past the pain as best you can and add minutes to the walk every week until you feel comfortable walking at least 20 minutes at a time. Increase your water intake and immediately stop drinking any sodas diet or otherwise and use the mfp to track all your calories and try to stay in the recommended range for a maximum weight loss of 2 lb a week. Gradually adjust your eating habits to include as many fruits and veggies and lean protein as possible and the pounds are going to start flying off the first couple of months if you stay focused on small goals each day. I’ve been there and know once you see positive results you will find it becomes easier each day. You have to choose each day to do one thing that will help you create new healthier habits in the long run. You can succeed by setting and achieving small goals everyday. My husband weighs 334 now, lost 13 pounds in 2 months. But he is struggling at times to keep the calories down. He is very private and don't go on this boards, so I am asking if it is possible to see your diary to get an idea on what you eat on a typical day. Just so I can compare with him and tell him about it.

I've gone from +330 to just under 210 in about 18 month. My diary is open, but has some lapses in recording (pretty obvious) and days I just tossed a calorie number in (superbowl).
Feel free to look at my diary (it is open) just don't be too surprised by it as I don't eat clean and there is chocolate, pizza, ice cream etc. in there.12 -

That first 100 lbs can come off pretty fast, after that you will likely lose steadily. I thought I was the only person here needing to lose a good amount, you are not alone.1
