I'm also checking my Fitbit to make sure I have met my step goal or get 250 steps per hour during the day. I find myself getting up for water more frequently during the day to get my steps. If I'm close towards the end of the day, I will go for a walk around the block or march in place until I hit my daily step goal.
Definitely! I don't eat anything I haven't checked out on MFP first. If anybody watches my diary throughout the day my meals change constantly because I'm constantly adjusting and trying to find the thing that will fit into my day the best.11 -

Added a Big Mac and fries to today's dinner just to show my boss what the calories would be compared to the lunch he bought me (Sushi). Was only there for a minute.13 -

Okay, this will probably sound random, but I will say it anyway. 66 lbs down - I can finally *coughs* cross my legs AND I JUST LOVE IT lol!36

Carrying groceries gets a lot easier, I can now carry three bags per arm whereas before it was 1-2. When dress pants start to fall off it really sucks, so now I’m just buying dresses for work because those will fit longer. So now I dress like a stepford wife.25

Agree with OP about strangers treating you differently! I'm usually pretty much invisible - like I get walked into on a regular basis, but the last time I lost a decent amount of weight I noticed complete strangers in the street treating me differently - holding doors open, saying hello in the street...it was weird haha.6

This is a weird one... but when you're carrying something and you go to unlock the door and you remember your keys are in the pocket on the side you're carrying on, but you can easily reach across your front into your pocket and grab the keys with the opposite hand... for some reason I seem overly fascinated with that one. Or looking down when you're in your car and seeing a lot of room between you and the steering wheel when there used to be a lot of gut in that space. Oh and being able to lift your leg up to tie your shoes instead of having to bend all the way down to the floor. Still, I think I like being able to reach into the opposite pocket the best.40

Carrying the childeren gets a lot heavyer, because you actually has to carry them with your arm and not your belly31

I have a different experience. Yesterday, I was holding my three year old daughter who weights 32 pounds and I decided to hold her up (like a overhead press) and I was surprised at the amount of strength I had. I then decided to throw her up in the air and catch her. It wasn't hard at all! All that strength training is making me stronger

This definitely ^^^^^1

It finally happened. Someone who didn't know fat me commented on how I obviously don't need to worry about gaining any weight...because just look at me.
I knew this situation would eventually arise, but I was still unprepared. I mumbled something about how I had gotten pudgy for a while after having my daughter. Ummm, yeah; try obese. For 2 years (I was "pudgy" pre-pregnancy).34 -
This one is weird, but useful. 50 lbs ago (almost 40% bodyfat) I had a hard time staying seated in the spa - I had to anchor my feet and hold myself down firmly. Down 50 lbs and around 25% bodyfat now, and my butt stays in the seat without any effort!28

There may come a point where eating out is a chore. Most days, I'd so much rather cook at home than go out.
But that's just me. YMMV.22 -
Your feet shrink! I went from wearing a US size 8.5 to a 7.14

Yes ugh, I hate the food dreams.5 -
This is very true... Eating out made me fat. Now that i eat whole foods and lost the weight, i know the food is fake and filled with chemicals and preservatives that make you fat. i much rather eat my own cooking...and dread having to go out tomorrow night. i'm not tempted...it is just work trying to figure out something decent to eat. There may come a point where eating out is a chore. I have lost a lot of weight and I still got alot more to go. I lost a lot of fat from booty, the trunk is empty of junk if you like. Anyway because of this I can no longer sit on hard spots for more than a few moments before my butt starts hurting.
Yes the bus ride home is currently VERY uncomfortable!6 -

Omg I have had food dreams this past week, I'm in a pretty big deficit so maybe that's it lmao4 -
I don't say a word about other people's food, but I find them defending or explaining the things they eat to me, probably without realizing it. Like, "I'm sorry, but I'm ordering the steak," or "would you mind if I get a dessert?" I still don't have a great response to this to help ease the tension. Any ideas?11

Oh, and I'm always cold! In California!4

"Oh go ahead" and move on to a different conversation. If they continue to explain their choice just do a happy "I don't mind" and try to move on again. I feel the more you linger on the topic or try to explain your choices the more they'll read it as a comparison to theirs and the more they'll feel awkward about it. The only time I'll explain a food choice is if explicitly asked why I'm not ordering something, and even then it's brief like "I don't like steak", "I've already had dessert", or "I don't feel like X today".10 -
What I’ve learned, that I never expected is that I never really REALIZED how big I was until I lost the weight. I mean I knew I was fat, but never really saw HOW FAT until I was able to compare before and after photos...53

I like the dreams; it's the waking that stinks.
I was at a carnival last night and ate beautiful things I'm not sure even exist irl. Popcorn with colored sparkly sugar that exploded like pop rocks in my mouth. A burger with caramelized onions and eight kinds of cheese and as big as my head - my two hands could barely hold it. Then I woke up.
WOW that sounds like one of the best dreams ever LOL.6 -

I don't try to bring much attention to it - it's usually a combination of a person being respectful of the fact you're counting calories and self-criticism that they should do that, but aren't. So I go in with a mindset of being nice and
reassuring.
I respond to such statements with:
"Thanks for thinking about the fact that I'm on a diet. That's really nice. But you order what you want to order. I've got a plan."
"I'm ordering the steak too." (A small steak and a green salad is often one of the better choices on the menu anyway).
"Not at all! Waitress, can I get a coffee please?"11 -

I had the same realization. Also I knew how to hide my large size well. I've been big my entire adult life. I was in denial with very high self confidence. I actually thought it was impossible for me to be smaller. After losing weight I realized how fat I really was browsing though old pictures. Some family members think something is wrong with me now that I'm smaller. My mom doesn't even know what I look like with a normal weight for my height so she is worried I'm losing too much. I have to remind her I'm still overweight for my height.
