Marie (Round 35 – Newbie)
Age: 39
Height: 5’6”
Weight today: 187.4 lbs.
Goal this round: Lose 5 pounds from start date (3/19) to end date (3/28)
Goal Weight: 140 lbs.
Total weight to goal: 37.4 lbs.
Day/Weight/Comment
3/19 – 189.6 lbs.
3/20 – 187.2 lbs.
3/21 – 187.2 lbs. – No loss, but one wasn’t expected. With no exercise and staying only a few calories below my calorie goal means no movement on the scale. I need to find a way to let the stress of my daughter’s accident and my son’s crazy baseball schedule go. Stress is a killer of diets, especially mine, as it keeps me from sleeping, causes emotional eating, and will eventually cause an “I just don’t care” attitude. I know this about myself, so I am going to be conscious of my choices. Our double header yesterday got cancelled due to weather, and has been moved to today, so no workout later today. I am going to take my dogs for a walk when I get home. If I have some daylight left, maybe I can walk them long enough to make it count.

3/19 - 186.0. Back to where I was last week. So far today I've gotten in 9500 steps and my food intake reflects reasonably good choices. Had a deficit of ~1000 calories; walked 12,500 steps; water 48 oz; sodium ok.
3/20 - 185.0 This was a pleasant surprise. I made and had soup last night. It took a little longer than my usual meal prep, but it was delicious. I thought this morning's weigh-in might reflect a late dinner, but not today. So, far my food choices are good today, but the weather sucks... and the forecast is worse. Deficit ~ 500 calories; little to no exercise
3/21 - 185.0 Snow day, but I'm working from home anyway.

Previous Round 33 Starting Weight 361.83/4=361.8 *Bought a new digital scale, set up my Samsung Health. Came in under budget on call. Super excited to finally get off the plateau.Previous Round 34 Starting Weight 352.2
3/5=359.3 *Walked .8 of a mile today went to the park and back. 2nd day in a row I came in under my calories budget.
3/6=358.0 *So today is kind of a big day, I'm joining a diet bet game; for my chance at winning some $$ on my weight-loss journey. So here's to more exercise and staying under my calories budget
3/7=355.2 *So yesterday I walk the dog to the park again and realized I wanna do that every day and slowly increase my walking distance. Yesterday calorie budget didn't get broke but I ended up eating my full budget. I followed this amazing recipe called Italian sausage white bean soup from cook smart meal plan. I made 6 servings yesterday @293cal a serving with extra broth and I grabbed 2 serving yesterday.
3/8=354.4 *So grand total LW=7.4lbs yesterday I didn't get a chance to walk to the park, as I was gone visiting family out of town. We got back home at like 8:30 then I rushed around the make Baked chicken parmesan it was a super delight, I made a total of 9 servings 5 servings of chicken and 4 servings of eggplant.
yum yum yum and @170 cal a serving you know it is got me both a chicken and eggplant. And still didn't break my calories budget still had like 345 call left over. I think this weight loss journey is gonna be yummy!! In my tummy.I can't wait to round 34 of this whole just give me 10 days.3/9=352.2 * So last round I had a weight loss of ?? ( wanna know read my spoiler-Muahahahaha) I really liked the 10-day challenge even though I didn't get in on the whole 10 days, but this one I will be. So last night I walked around the block it was the same distance as going to the park and back. Then for dinner, I made this very delish (with ideas for improvement for next time I cook it) Oven Baked Risotto with Mushrooms. Oh, and I landed a new job!! it's part-time $10 an hour but I'm not complaining. Its better than what I have now which is $0.
3/10 & 3/11=354.6 & 354.4 * So I'm going to post 2 days into one update. So on the 10th was my first full day at sitting as the Easter Bunny at the mall. Which to tell you all a secret ( I think half the time I might have been snoozing zzzzzzzzzzzzzz) Not because I was bored but here am, sitting in these insanely tight Bunny Bottoms size (LARGE) and here my (FLUFFY size 24) is squeezed inside them; every discomforting. Add a mix of it dark inside the head of the Bunny and for some reason maybe human design flaw but when I'm sitting for a while and nothing keeps my thought pattern going (This can be either light or dark setting) my brain will start going into sleep mood. Part of my job is "Bunnies can't talk"
Now Picture This Been sitting still and quiet, all is calm inside the Giant Bunny Head; so a yawn creeps up on you, next thing you know is you hear Oh, I think the Easter Bunny is tired which snap you out of this deeper than cat nap snooze. And you see a young girl waving and the mother whisper that to her. So now your brain is like Mister Easter Bunny *kitten* that me (Brain start waving) Ok they are waving and smiling and walking away. Good Whew!!! Then you start wondering Exactly how long, was your sleeping between the last wave and this wave it couldn't have been that long, NAH!!! we are good I'm gon Y-A-W-N stay awake this time
Or Picture This It was about an hour and a half after I became the Easter Bunny, It's time for a water break I can't drink too much while in suit beacuse then I'll have to pee and that would be bad cuz Remeber I'm stuffed into the pants So I'm being escorted to the hall way where I can take a breather and get some water to drink, so I'm barely walking cuz it's large bulk feet and too bulk pants and equally tight pants and WHAM!! out of now where there are 6-pint size minions grabbing your legs and all talking at one time "Hey mister Easter Bunny do you remember meeting me when I was 2?" "Are you going to bring the eggs to us this year at our new house?" "Where is your house Mister Easter Bunny?" "Can I tell you my Christmas List, You know Santa Don't you?" and all you can do is try NOT REPEAT NOT knock over little Sara or Jimmy and give a thumbs up because EASTER BUNNIES DON'T TALK
So that is how yesterday went, Oh and being the Easter Bunny will end up walking 2 miles each day. It's 1 mile to the mall where my job is then, of course, you got to walk the same 1 mile back home. Today is the 11th and I was off work Tomorrow I have to go to work at 9:45 am. Yes! I will more than likely bring home more funny tales of being the Easter Bunny tomorrow as well.
P.s Yesterday stunt as Easter Bunny I realized that a lot of people just think that under the mask is a Male Human, I'm here to set things straight Females Humans can be bunnies too. Most of all of yesterday that what I Heard Mister Easter Bunny. Which I haven't had any kids yet but I think if I choose to teach them about the Easter bunny Highly Doubtful, as I'm Pagan but if I did I would them to know that girls can be Easter bunnies too.
3/12=351.6 *So yesterday I didn't have to go to work, and we had family over the weekend visiting. At the end of the night, Someone had brought in a leftover slice of pizza and 2 fried mushroom caps, which in turn became my dinner. So today being the Easter Bunny it was super busy until my break then it was like I could hear Crickets (Chirp Chirp). On the plus side, I was slightly way more comfortable than yesterday. Instead of pulling the bunny pants up all the way, I left the front part waistband under my big fluffy tummy role. I don't think I fell asleep any till after 1:30 pm when it got really slow. This whole week should be fast, it's spring break. Whelp!! That it for today, stay tuned for the tomorrow tale of Easter Bunny Stories.
3/13=353.2 *I seem to be hovering between 353 and 351 So yesterday lunch after I got home from work, was super yummy!! I made Maple-Dijon Panko Portobellos. Out of the 4 people that ate myself included all gave it a 4 out of 4 **** in case you didn't know **** is meant to be stars. I never really been a salad person, as I always thought they don't have any flavor or taste well the dressing I made for the side dish.I could have *LICKED THE BOWL CLEAN. Which each meal that I have been making from the meal planning website Meal Planning Website--Cook Smart comes with a side dish. And for $8 a month to get a pre-made shopping list and meals with sides and you can choose from different options such as Gulen Free and Vegetarian as well Oringal and Paleo it's a no-brainer. With my whole family giving me Rav Reviews. I guess we will find out as I have a fancy grilled cheese recipe planned for today. Spinach and Artichoke Grilled Cheese.Which if you wanna know how that goes; you will just have to find my post and read about it.
3/14 & 3/15=353.6 & 353.8 * I think I may be stuck in the weight loss area!! So yesterday I walked half of my 2-mile walk for work. Then I took a left home as I volunteered to do a double shift so I could learn how to the sales part of being the whole Easter Bunny. So I took the lyft to the pawn shop and bought a bike and Lesson to be learned=Look at it good before buying It wasn't anything that couldn't be fixed. After the double shift, I came home to make our dinner for the evening. Which was a delish soup called Tom Kha Gai Soup. I didn't put the ginger or lemongrass stalks in it that it called for but out of the 2 other nightly dinner eaters they really loved the soup and you got the hint that it's supposed to a Thai soup flavor it had coconut milk in it as part of the broth. After the double shift, I did and standing up and cooking dinner my lower back would end up pinching my back and make my legs go numb. I slept deep and didn't want to wake up this morning. However, Mother Nature had other plans.
On This Episode of Easter Bunny Tales At this mall I work at, there is an indoor ice skating rink. So yes if you are wondering if someone falls, yes it makes a loud boom sound as people hit the ice. So here I sit as the Easter Bunny and I look over at the ice rink and see this group of 5 girls skating arm in arm. This can only end so badly!. Yep! you guess it sorta started out as the outer middle 4 girls going down. Followed by a slow-motion jerking stop of everyone as this happen girl 2 and 5 fell. So now so now 1 and 3 are half bent over trying not to fall. If you could see an image call to mind A domino chain reaction the first went down then the rest followed.
3/16 & 3/17=351.2 & 349.8 * Good Heavens!! on Soil this damn plateau I'm on is about to drive me insane Well the good news is I finally fell off the cliff I was on from the plateau of standstill weightloss. This last week I have been so far behind in posting daily. Mainly because I have been working as the Easter Bunny then life happens and it almost seems impossible to keep up with everything. So Thursday for lunch as everyone had to get ready to go to work that evening I made Jerk Chicken Thighs. To be honest I wasn't fond of the salad dressing for the salad but the chicken and rice and beans were freaking fantastic. I'm thinking about building me a pop-up bike camper to pull behind me on a bike and take off and go travel this summer, though this has been a dream for many moons and I still haven't followed it.So we will see. The good news is I don't have to work tomorrow so I'll be able to do a daily update on it.
3/18=349.0 *I'm glad to be off the plateau I was on for the last few days Yesterday was a super bad day. Life handed me an F* You card and I ended up having a mini-meltdown crying all over the place for about 30mins. Which yeah I quit my job as Easter Bunny. Then I woke up today knowing even though I fell off keeping track of what I ate last night around dinner time was just a bad evening and today is a brand new day. Then I come here to post and I noticed today is the last of Round 34 Wow!! time flies. And sitting here know how the last 2 rounds of Just Give Me 10 Days has helped me. I think during the next round I'm gonna give backstory over my last 2yrs of weight loss; who knows maybe it will help someone else who is struggling. Whelp, suppose that is it. This round I only ended up losing 3.2lbs, which is nothing to get sad about as it's still a loss.
Round 35 Starting Weight 349.0
3/19=348.8 *Thursday I didn't go to work as Easter Bunny by Friday I didn't have a job Saturday Sunday I ended up not tracking what I really ate as closely as I should have and I haven't taken the 2-mile walk that I normally would have so overall this weekend has been a crap suck Fest I really need to get back on track. So last night on the 18th which was.
3/20=349.4 * Still failed to keep track of what I ate again, I'm not letting this keep me down. Sunday we had an extra guess over for dinner and I made Slow Cooker Turkey and Sweet Potato ChiliOk, so this Just give me 10 days I said I was gonna back story my weight loss journey, to hopefully give home an insight to how things changed with my life.
Backstory This was me, back in 2007 I weighed then what I weighed in 2016 when my life took a drastic turn which we will cover in other backstories. So where does my story begin it starts with a Preference almost 10 to 11yrs ago; like most good stories you read today it had a lot of sad and happy time mixed with self-hate and then finally the hero shows up and all is good.
So when I turned 18yrs old, my own mother was late showing up to my birthday party. She came with an eviction notice in hand. Telling me"You have 2 weeks to move out of my house" Now I will tell you I wasn't no troublemaker, drug or sex-addicted teen; She was the abusive kind of mother. So somehow my father whom I hadn't really ever spent much time with growing up, I think the last time was when I was 11yr old, found out and came into the pic and said let's rent a place together. So between 18yrs old and 19yr was a rough year I didn't know it then and I wouldn't fully get to find out till within the last year I suffered from a genetic disorder called 21.1 Chromosome duplication syndrome
You might even know people with this, they just haven't been diagnosed-it includes Autism, Depression, Bipolar, ADD or ADHD, as well as low mental level and an overall one less color in our color box. And mostly goes undiagnosed because Dr. is great at treating separately instead of the whole
So there I was mid-year between 18yrs and 19yrs old, living with my dad and his girlfriend in a rental house. First Mistake Over the months his girlfriend grew tired of playing house. So they all moved out one day while I was still in high school. Yeah!! that talked about part of a movie that always the joke about coming home and they all moved happen to me. So I barely survived that year, as I have learned my mother didn't teach me how to prepare for the world. Being already diagnosed with low mental level, so I knew enough how to buy a bus pass and how to cook simple meals and get help paying bills. To say the least I barely kept my head above water. So close to the year I turned 19. I get a phone call from my Dad saying "He and his girlfriend broke up. Come live with him in his new house." I knew enough then to know I couldn't keep going the way I was. So I moved, then weeks before my 19th birthday party my aunt calls saying "I'm going to go visit my daughter to move some of my storage up there want to come?" So I did and that ladies and Gents is the ending of my Preference of how my weight loss journey would start.
Meet my Saving Grace, my Cousin. As you can tell from these pics, we were both very VERY VERY overweight and unhealthy. From our smiling face, you can see the pain and the ticking clock of death.
So if you all wanna know what each of my recipes looks like starting on 3/8 you will see the first one.
The second recipe is on 3/13
The third recipe is listed on 3/19

3/21=350.2 *So last night was Pizza night, and I was able to keep track of my foods again. Yesterday was a good day. Although last night pizza for dinner I did end up going over my cal budget by -133; which isn't too bad. However, these next few weeks I plan on starting the BodyFast App-which is a fasting app. Back in 2016 when I first started changing I did fasting for a few weeks trying different methods of weight loss out. I had great results from it. So know what I know today, and with the help of Daily Burn which I got a free 30-day trial and did my first workout today Daily Burn said my est cal burn was 277, I think I burned more than that. Stability & Mobility & MFP I think the weight is about to start falling off. So more of my
Backstory So my last post ended with my moving in with my Saving Grace my cousin. When I first moved in I was roughly 388lbs. I hadn't been to the doctor in months; I had moved in August 2007 which was right before 20th birthday. I still hadn't graduated High School, I went and to the local High School Remember I'm 19yrs old. We get to the local high school to get my self-enrolled into high school. Though all the paperwork; only to be stopped by the principle of the high school saying "We need a parent or guardian to enroll you." When I told them I was 19 and moved away and hadn't talked to my mother in almost over a year since I was 18yrs old. She looked at me and said "Ok I will wave my magic wand" She actually flicked her wrist to act like she was waving a magic wand.
I will say the beginning of living with my cousin was ROUGH!!!. She 10yrs old than me and was married to a great person, and had a 10yr old daughter. Knowing now that I have always had this Gentic Disorder looking back on to things I can clearly see how my mental age was compared to my physical body's age. One of the things I struggled with then and still today was if there was a household rule If I had to follow it, everyone in the house should too never minds if you're the mother & father Grandma or Grandpa etc...How can you expect a young child to follow said Rule Take your dishes to the sink after eating. If you expect the child to follow what you set down you can't show you don't do the rule as well. I can remember that I and her young daughter was always fussing just like the sister would. True enough at the time even though I had turned 20yrs old my mental age was close to 10yrs old.
When my mother first took me to get a disability check, that sat me in a room asking question doing a test to get the results of lower mental, I can learn, It just takes me the longest time to process and understand what's being said. So even though I was physically 15yrs old my mental ago would have been around 4yrs of age. As I have learned as I got old, both physically and mentally there is about a 10yr gap between my Actual age and how I think of the world. Although now looking forward in time 2016 brought a lot of changes one of which was my mental age had a huge leap forward. My body is 30yr and my mental age is around 22 to 23. Try as I might sometimes slap me in the face and something will set it off and you can tell something is off. Mostly with I tend to talk really loud and start doing what my cousin labeled as my Ticks a repetitive movement. Sometimes I can tell things are getting to be too much in a situation and other times I can't. If I wouldn't have moved in with my cousin 10yrs ago. I know with my own thoughts and smarts I'd be sitting in a Group House I try every day to make sure I keep learning. Because that fear of ending up there as I get older is hard to shake off.9 -

R35 GW this round: 229. Walk to work at least once a day (I work approximately 3/4 of a mile from where I live; most days I do walk but sometimes I am lazy and take a bus :P), exercise 5x a week burning 500 calories each round!
Day/Weight/Comment
3/19: 233. Surprised at this number given this weekends’ indulgences but hopeful I stay on track. I was off work today so got a work out in the AM and met up my friend for matcha ice cream. I meal prepped for the week and had a big dinner tonight so washing it all down with lots of water. Let’s see what tomorrow brings!
3/20: 234.4 A bit up but yesterday I had very little to eat all day and came home starving. I meal prepped and ended up having a larger portion than I wanted to (oops). Got in an hour of activity though so that is definitely a plus. Today I focusing on drinking a lot of water and staying within my calories. That's it. Sounds so easy, right?
3/21: 233.2 Yesterday I got in a quick walk and an hour of Zumba and burned almost 800 calories. However I ate 2,000 calories and still a drop this morning! It almost doesn't seem right. I will take it. Drank 120 oz of water today so that was a plus also. It's snowing where I live so not very motivated to work out. I have chili simmering on the stove, yummy

3/19 - 177.8 lbs - hit the gym for the 4th time this month. Expected a training session but got my dates wrong. Worked arms anyway. I’m getting better at keeping my meals healthy and I’ve stopped sneaking junk food. Now I add a piece of something sweet to my lunches and find I don’t generally want it when lunch rolls around.
3/20 - 178.4 lbs - I weighed myself just before going to the gym instead of first thing in the morning. 5th gym visit this month. Got my training session and oh man my legs are tired! I made a slow cooker thai beef stew from a new paleo cookbook and the whole family loved it.
3/21 - 172.4! - Weighed first thing in the morning! Worked 730a-430p then hit the gym at 445p for a short run on the treadmill. I’ve been stretching my legs ever since :-) Breakfast was fruit and yogurt (plain). Lunch spinach and hard boiled egg with cheese and almonds. Dinner will be leftover thai stew!

3/19 – 65.9kgs. I’m not surprised considered how much I ate during the weekend. I need to get back on track with losing weight and ensuring I’ll still meet my goal by 30 April. Halfway mark so cant give up now! 14,138 steps. C25k.

3/19 - 226.2lbs. Haha, not much of a downward movement, but I'll take it! We had family dinner at my mom's last night and she made baked potatoes, asparagus, bread crumb crusted haddock and strawberry shortcake. I tried not to over do it and be mindful, but I did eat a looot of asparagus!
3/20 - 224.8lbs. Alright! That's a better downward movement. I was pretty on top of my food intake yesterday. Plus, I did a lot of meal prep cooking last night. I made some teriyaki tofu and zucchini noodles. It was my first time using a spiralizer.
3/21 - 224.4lbs. Another small loss. But still a loss. So that's good! I overate a bit today, but I did also take a pilates class for the first time...
