I basically didnt do squat today.. which feels good,
did go look at a apt that my son is thinking of renting...found out he brings home about 800.00 a month... and the place he would rent has a 6x 5 ft kitched a tiny bathroom and maybe a 8x8 bedroom thats, it, the other side is a bit bigger but that is 600.00 a month.. Sean found a job at Aldi's warehouse about 1/2 hr away from here that starts at 18.00-22.00 an hr, paid vacations, ins everything.. he is 33 yrs old and has to come to the realization that he has been riding on everyones coat tails and now he has to live in the real world.
Tom tried calling me and I didnt answer, I am at the point that if I am paying mucho bucks for my attorney , it will be taken care of by her.

Hey, everyone, I wasn't upset or thinking about not posting again, etc. It's just that the last thing in the world I want to do is to be offensive. I know how I can get, I get on my soapbox and don't get off sometimes. I was upset and crying last night as I wrote that, Jack even came into the living room to see what was wrong with me. I'm passionate about things I believe in.
Much love,
Janetr

Karen love the flowers.
Heather sounds like a good plan.
Even after one therapy visit as a family we are learning the how difficult it is to communicate. Overall we were very respectful to each other. It was good to hear my older son defend our younger son in how his grandmother on DH side treated him. She had Alzheimer's and took some of her frustration out on him. He is one not to complain, so I think his pain being acknowledge was one of the good things that came out of our first session.
Boundaries and communication were not a strong suit in my family growing up.
Janetr having worked with children for over twenty years as an educator I am for anyone speaking up for children. It is difficult for children to have a voice. I say keep up your passion they need you.
I too replied strongly to what happened to Heather. I would do it again. I just wish someone had been there to defend her when it happened.
I unfortunately do have times even as a substitute when students complain of inappropriate touch by a classmate. I believe them and defend them. It is important for them to speak up and not accept this kind of behavior.

Machka- oh my goodness, what a terrible thing to happen to your hubby. He is strong and active and it will help him heal. Please take care of yourself as you must be strong for the long haul. We are praying for both f you. What is his name?
Barbie- Happy Birthday. Hope it was a good day. Glad to hear Jake is walking as that is the best thing
he can do.
Becca- excited to hear about your move. Take it easy as moving is hard. We moved a lot in the AF and those were easier as the movers did everything. We moved ourselves twice and it was very hard.
Just got a call that I need to change dates with a girl and host bridge tomorrow. Better get busy on my house.

Janetr I wish you would tell us more about the memories that were triggered by Heather's abuse. Instead of taking it back, plunge in and fill in the details as much as you can stand to. I get so furious when I think about children being abused.
Katla You should have been allowed to attend your cousin's funeral. It was a mistake not to trust you to be able to handle it.
Margaret Thanks! My granddaughter was here yesterday so we went out to cut daffodils and look at moss.

Heather, that is just a perfect picture of what I consider to be the typical English countryside! My only knowledge of Great Britain is what I've watched on tv, but that just looks so calm and lovely. I think I could stand looking at that all day! I can't complain, I do have a forest on one side, so definitely get my peaceful fix by looking over there. For a book title, how about Innocence Lost? Or Childhood Lost?
Kelly, good for you for going along with your MIL in regards to what she remembers, and doesn't remember. My dad didn't have dementia, but had congestive heart failure, so his brain wasn't getting enough oxygen so he got not really confused, but kind of made his own reality. The nurses told me to go along with him, or gently try to bring him back to where he really was. He was telling me one day that he was being moved to a different city, I told him I thought they were moving him to Victoria, at first he looked concerned but then I told him that that's where I was, so that was a good thing. Then he was okay with it. He knew who I was, and when my younger son, who he hadn't seen for a year, came for a visit he still knew who he was, so that part was good. Sure hard to watch our elderly loved ones fade away. Mercifully, my Dad was only ill for a short time.
Katla, I don't blame you for not wanting to be around Arrow when you are by yourself! That's just too much animal if he decides to be a jerk!
Allie, good for you for doing nothing today and for not answering Tom's phone call! You are absolutely right, for what you are paying the lawyer, she can handle it.
Lanette, I did something like you are talking about, mixed up some pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, dried cranberries and a few nuts, can't remember all that I did up. I did enjoy it, it took me a few minutes to eat, satisfied that "hand to mouth" craving and was decent for calories. Thanks for reminding me about that, just might have to do that again.
Okie, sounds like your cousin definitely had the right idea in regards to telling (or not) her MIL about her son's passing. Definitely more compassionate to let them live out their last years in peace, without upsetting them.
Beachlife143, welcome! Please let us know what you would like to be called and a general (or specific - your call) location, just in case you have the same name as someone already on here, it helps if we can differentiate by locale.
I think I'm all caught up, for now anyway! lol
So happy that I decided to jump into this group, truly an amazing bunch of ladies!
Hope everyone has a great day/night!

Heather, you said your son was going to counseling which is wonderful. Is that a possible place where you could tell him and he would have any support he needed right there? Just a thought.
(((Machka)))
Spent the morning hemming the bedroom curtains. They have bugged me for so long (no pun intended). Glad they are finally done. Also up and down stairs doing laundry today. For just two people we sure can generate a lot of dirty clothes.
Well that’s about all my brain can handle tonight.
Hope everyone had a good day.

Evie – whenever I can, I try to preportion out my food. It’s so handy, as you’ve found. Good for you!
BeachLife – welcome!
The other day I posted on facebook “my pool is all ready for St. Patrick’s Day and I didn’t even have to add any dye!” Do you know that Pete’s mother didn’t understand that I was referring to the fact that algae had grown in the pool over the summer? Denise had to explain it to her. She actually thought we had the pool open! Guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree
Allie – so sorry about the teapot, especially with it being so sentimental
Nite all!

Allie, I have a lovely china plate that has been broken to bits. I am saving the pieces and one day will glue them onto a wooden frame to make a pretty mirror mosaic.
Well sisters, the sun is shining and I have a long list of chores to get to, but I got a couple more pictures from the hike that a new friend sent to me. It was her first hike with a club and she was "out of her comfort zone" but she did fine and had a wonderful time. We are both intimidated by staying in a back country hut with a group and doing multiple day tramps but we are both determined to conquer our fears and start living life to the max with nothing to hold us back. It was really good to hike with her and talk, talk, talk! You know I don't get enough of that from my hubby, but my new tramping friends fill the empty bucket nicely. LOL Here is this wonderful magical tree that was at the entrance to a remnant of old forest that we hiked through to reach Castle Rock.
And there were all these weird mushrooms, sky blue ones and black ones. This was a weird face-shape:
And here is the group that went. My new friend was taking the photo though so she is not in it.
Dashing out. Sunshine is calling my name. Wendy

I finally realized why I have no desire to do something special for my birthday. My life is perfect every day exactly the way it is. Every day I do things I love to do, wear the clothes I like and eat the foods I like. How could I improve on that for my birthday. Thank you for all the birthday greetings,
This afternoon after vacuuming the house, folding the third load of laundry, and changing the sheets on both beds, I worried about why I felt so exhausted. Then I realized that in between doing my chores, I was riding the exercise bike while watching TV with Jake and walking the dogs. I don't sit still very well.
Stats for today:
*17,000 steps
*196 minutes walking Sasha and Bessie
*158 minutes riding the exercise bike

Machka- Thank you for touching base. Prayers to all the ladies who are patiently waiting for healing husbands.
So sorry to hear of the losses everyone is experiencing. This week I have heard of 4 deaths of people I was acquainted with.;( One of them was a former customer and veteran. He was honored at the WTU banquet last night. Remember to be kind to one another, we don't know what might happen tomorrow.
One of the things I love about all you ladies is your support and sharing. We all need an outlet that is safe for us. Please keep sharing!
Life is a little crazy right now. Springtime in a mower shop (in spite of Mother Nature's temper tantrums..... Son in law possibly leaving for a new job I asked my SIL if she even asked him about it. She said no, we can't meet what he will be making. I am not the boss, so am not in a position to say much, but I know of two things that would make him stay. If she or my husband would ask, I would be happy to suggest. It seems really ignorant to allow an employee to leave that is good at his job and you've spent two years training, and not offer an alternative-SMH! It isn't like folks are beating down the door for a job that is 50 hours a week and requires getting dirty. Renter of 12 years moving out. Lots of work. Did get most of kitchen and entryway flooring taken up and put back down today.
My husband asked me to get before pictures, I forgot, so got during pictures The last two are after pictures. I am excited to get the new lights in as well as the carpet, and the new linoleum in the bathrooms. I really wouldn't mind putting this vinyl planks in bathrooms, but just don't have the time. We spent 8 hours working on it, then found out we are about 4 planks short....bummers. Still have to figure out trim work. But am pleased with a project well done with my DH! No hollering, bossing, or yelling. We asked questions and gave suggestions. All in all a successful day. All done on an empty stomach. The pancakes just didn't carry us over very long, but didn't want to stop since next time we can go over is Wednesday. My knees are achy tonight just from getting up and down so much. Laundry is going so we will have work stuffs tomorrow. Still haven't made it to grocery. May just have to put that in the plans for tomorrow evening.
Time to get ready for bed. (((HUGS)))

Wendy, great photos! So glad you've found some one to talk to! It really is awesome to find a kindred spirit!
Barbie how lovely that you have your life just the way you like it!
Kylia, that floor looks amazing!
Decent day today, so happy to not be working tomorrow! I'm tired. Still have to get up early tomorrow to get to my TRX class, but that's okay, the rest of the day is open. Well, sort of. I do have some stuff around the house that I need to catch up on.
That's it for me! Hope everyone has a great day!

Allie: WTG!!! "Tom tried calling me and I didn't answer, I am at the point that if I am paying mucho bucks for my attorney , it will be taken care of by her."
Karen: "Katla You should have been allowed to attend your cousin's funeral. It was a mistake not to trust you to be able to handle it." Thank you for standing up for me. I should have been at my cousin's funeral. :broken_heart;
I've been reading Amazons and Swallows books, written by British author, Arthur Ransome. This one is called Swallowdale. It is part of a series. I have all of these books and love them. It has been a few years since I read this one. It is set in Coniston Waters, GB, between the world wars. I love these books. The girls are as brave, smart and strong as the boys. I recommend the set.

Plan to have a run after lunch. I'm now reading my 15th running book! I've also read 5 or 6 alcohol books . I will run up to one pub, back down to another pub and back up to home. I won't go into either of the pubs.
Barbie - I'm like you. I now have the life I always wanted. Part of that is just luck and part of it I worked for. All of it could change in the blink of an eye. I am grateful for what I have.
Things I love every day:
My wonderful husband
My health
The people I love - family and friends
My fitness and exercise
My writing
My plans for moving
My almost AF life
Self discipline
This thread
There are many, many more, including a diet that I love and enjoy. Self discipline sounds a bit weird, but it is a largely new joy for me, as I spent most of my life 'winging it' and unhappily trying to catch up with myself. Now I am at peace with myself.
I'm not sure what was the final piece that slotted into place. It could be finishing the memoir. It could be conquering the alcohol demon, it could be the new passion for running, but something has shifted this year and I feel stronger.
I am so aware that it could change, through no fault of mine, in an instant, so I am far from complacent. But I do have a little island of peace for the moment.
My word for 2018 was EMBRACE.
Not to forget DON'T LET THE PERFECT BE THE ENEMY OF THE GOOD Getting better at that.
Wendy - Looks like such fun!
Allie - WTG! We are with you today.

Kylia - The floor looks great! I really like it.
We need to do the flooring in our house. Part of my hesitation is cost, part is not knowing if we will be staying here for a decent amount of time (hubs job could force a move), part is the mess and shuffling of all the furniture required to do it. We lived through re-flooring the whole downstairs of our former house, we slept in the formal living room for 3-4 days (with our bed set up in there while they did our bedroom suite). We could do it again here, but geez, the mess, the intrusion, the money. Then there is also the decisions to make, I would really prefer wood (wide plank, distressed) because it is much easier for me to take care of than ceramic. However, wood look ceramic would be much cheaper and for most people, easier to take care of. All my friends say I am crazy that wood is easier to take care of. Then there is the question of what floor we replace. Hubs just wants to replace what is now ceramic with new ceramic. I want to rip up the whole house (which is wood that I love and would like to put in the whole house) in two bedrooms, cork in the master, carpet in two bedrooms, ugly (to me) formal wood in the dining and living room and ceramic in the rest. I think having the same floor through the whole house would be a great selling point for later. I think we will probably compromise with replacing the tile that is here, the two carpeted bedrooms and our master with new wood look ceramic. We both hate the cork. It is great for noise absorption, but it dents easily. We had a large dog (140 lbs) and his toenails left some battle scars on the floor. I love seeing those marks on the floor, they make me think of him and smile at the memories. Sorry for the ramble!
Not a lot going on here today. I need to make some egg cups to freeze so I can use up some veggies before they go bad. Hubs has decided when he is home next week that he wants me to feed him for the week to see if he can get his weight moving down again. He has been swapping the same pound up and down for about 6 weeks. I offered to help him if he wanted me to and he immediately said yes, I will eat whatever you tell me to, including taking my lunch to work to see if we can get me going again. I knew he was frustrated, but I didn't want to overstep. He's a grown man, he can eat what he wants. He has cut back a lot and has lost weight since we started last June. I think he has done great for doing it while traveling for work about 45% of the time. I have to work out what he should be getting calorie wise and put together a 4 day meal plan to make sure he is getting enough to eat and see if that shows him a drop from M-F of next week. If it does, I suspect the weeks he is home he will continue with it. I really think one of his biggest issues is sodium from eating out for lunch every day and water retention from flying weekly. I may even set him up a MFP account that I will log his food in for those few days to make sure I am feeding him enough
That's all I've got this morning Ladies, have a great Monday. Hugs to those that need them, congrats to those with victories, welcome to the new ladies and prayers and good thoughts for those struggling and especially for those with husbands that are healing.

Slept nearly ten hours - was so exhausted when I got to El Paso... and SO glad I flew in on Sunday instead of Monday and then going straight to work. The flights were pleasant, it wasn't that. Just wiped out. Feeling quite rested right now, but the right knee is very unhappy. It's just going to have to deal with it all for a few days, no options. Only one day coming where I'll be on my feet, and plenty of help to deal with things, so oh well, I'll deal.
Work to do - got a meeting with the boss this morning to go over various things, some good some not so good, but either way, I need to get my ducks in a row...7 -
