This is another one that hit me squarely. I'm a photographer so it's nice to have the excuse "I'm behind the camera, not in front!" But when you work with other photogs, it happens. They are happy with the photo they took, and I secretly die inside because I'm in it.
I've also realized that the photos I'm in with my friends aren't normal. I make stupid faces or am doing stupid things bc I just don't like being in photos. It is upsetting to me.
I feel bad saying "Please don't post that bc I'm in it." I hope to one day move past that feeling.34 -
Many commenters are unhappy about people's reactions. But some wish they'd say less about the weight loss, others wish they'd say more. Just remember, most people aren't sure what to say to make you happy, to be nice without offending, and are doing the best they can. Other people have their own body image issues. But since you already got to this point, you already know that what people say doesn't matter!33

I found this thread six months ago as I started on my weight loss journey and have thoroughly loved reading through every single page. Thank you to everyone who has posted their experiences here. I’m now 19kg (41lbs) down with 11kg (24lbs) to go.
No one told me that I’d not enjoy junk food like I used to (and I’m not even mad about it). I went away for the Easter weekend and decided to relax, with no calorie counting. It was great for the first day but four days later, I am so over it. Can’t wait to go back to my new lifestyle of fresh, nutritious food tomorrow. I have always loved food and NEVER thought I’d be someone who’d enjoy anything but what I considered “delicious” (see: rich, fatty and unhealthy) food.
Bonus: I ate and drank a lot of things this weekend that I’ve craved over the last six months and they either a) didn’t taste as good as I remember or b) aren’t worth the calories. Don’t think I’ll be craving them again anytime soon. Win!47 -
How flat my boobs were going to get. I'm losing 150 pounds and already had long, saggy boobs, but they were very full. I was in a HH cup with a huge band. Now they are like an inch and a half thick, and I am in a six inch smaller band and DD cup with no spillage. Yet the length hasn't shrunk at all. It's annoying. I don't ever expect to have small, cute boobs. I just don't like them hanging halfway to my waist.
At least a mammogram will be easier. They are already flat. Lol.41 -

I've lost 94lbs and I can handle loose skin everywhere else because there's not much of it but my boobs... it's the only thing I'm self conscious about, especially at 22 years old. At least when I was bigger they didn't face the floor. I feel ya.21 -
As I’m getting smaller I am just loving my body. I’m looking better and better even with my minor flaws. I know it sounds vain but I love looking at myself in the mirror. I know it’s not practical but if i could I would wear lingerie all day in my home. All the Victoria’ssecret lingerie I purchased in the past, that were clearly too small for me, now fit! I just want to wear them everyday. I'm also happy I readjusted my goal weight a while back. I realized with my petite height, 5’2” and pear shape I needed a lower weight goal to achieve my desired look. When I started at 175lb my goal was 145lb. At 145lb I realized I will be comfortable between 125-130 and the way things are going it seems I’m right! I’m currently 138lb and loving the way I look I know I will look phenomenal in the 120’s40

OMG the mammogram comment made me laugh so hard. I've been shrinking too but I was small-chested when I was young and thin so my situation is a little different than yours. When I was in my early 20s I had a small bust that was practically up to my neck. As I got bigger I also got older (obvs), point being that I got proper boobs and lower boobs at the same time. At the moment I have about 15-20 pounds to go before my UGW and the girls look ok if I'm just standing up straight in front of the mirror, but if I touch them they're squishy and I'm worried that by the time I hit goal I'll also be in the 'long' category.
Ironically—and this is referencing @whosshe's comment about 'direction'—mine have started to 'point' in the right direction, whereas when I was at my heaviest they'd been facing the floor. At the time I thought that was due to my age, but it turned out to be because of skin-on-skin friction pulling on them as they travelled over my huge stomach before. Incidentally, @whosshe and I are MFP contacts and discovered our chests started shrinking at the same time, and that for a period of a few weeks we both lost no inches anywhere except there. I think I'm on a first name basis with the people at my local Goodwill. LOL. I've gone down 5 sizes in the last year and have spent only about $100 in new-ish clothes. Pretty sure the new (smaller) bras cost more.19 -

I will tell you this, the right partner won't care one bit though. My husband thinks I'm sexy AF. I swear I don't see what he sees, but he swears he's been attracted to my body when I was huge and when I was the size I am now. He says he'll be attracted to my body when I hit my goal weight (I've never been much smaller than I am now since he met me 22 years ago, and I've got 90 pounds to go). In a bra I bet your boobs look fine, and a guy or gal who sees you naked isn't going to care about loose skin at all, at least the good ones won't. I know you know this, but it's different when it's you. Look at me complaining about my pancake boobs!
We're all unhappy with something, even the hottest people in the world have insecurities. And your floor pointing boobs are proof that you did something few people do. You decided you were unhappy with your body and instead of going the Heath At Every Size route, you counted calories (or whatever) and lost 94 pounds. You have the knowledge to keep it off too. Those boobs (and mine) are a success story.
Wear them proudly.

— I get really cold all the time now.
— I have so much more confidence because I have come so far and can see a big difference in the mirror.
— Going down a notch on my belt feels like a victory.
— The same people who called you fat and would make snide remarks on how you need to lose weight will now tell you to eat a burger or something because you’ve lost a lot of weight and “have gone too far” (yeah right. I’m healthy now! )
— Some people will never understand why you don’t eat out very often or why you meal prep.
— Shopping for new clothes feels awesome, but it’s also crazy that clothes that fit you two months ago are now loose on you.11 -

Yes! And I'm so happy I found the right partner before any of this. He has seen me at literally all sizes from 3X to small. I bring up my woes with my boobs and he looks at me like I'm crazy LOL I just always have to find something to complain about. At least it's something I can brush off, cause you're right, they look fine in a bra and only him and I are going to see them without so... if it's aight with him then I need to suck it up lol
And @HDBKLM lately I've only been losing inches in my chest! Can I lose waist inches please? that'd be great thanks...9 -

I actually miss the congratulations I used to get from people for doing physical activity while fat.
These days I’ll be at a class, and I’ll do a thing that I never thought I’d be able to do, and I kind of look around me for the impressed/‘you go girl’ expressions - and nobody cares, because I’m a perfectly normal size doing perfectly normal things.
I guess this is what my mother is for70 -

I can relate to this one. I'll be jacked that I performed something I couldn't before, but no one notices. I NEED someone to high five, dangit!26 -

I agree with that although my mother doesn't get the physical part of it. Luckily my personal trainer gets it. He moved to a different city, so he gets texts when I do something I am proud of and I get the muscle emoji or something back13 -

There will be times when your spouse/significant other/friends won't want to hear about your weight loss, workouts or meal planning.
In my case, there are times when I get really locked in on my workouts and eating well and it becomes a primary point of conversation with my wife. When all of the nutrition and workout talk starts to dominate my interactions with her, she provides me with a little perspective to remind me that while it's great I'm really focusing, I should balance my conversations with other subjects as well.46 -
