Women in their 40s!

I have an "Ugh, it's not fair" instance for being a woman over 40. I logged a bike ride on Strava last night. It was approximatley 12.5 miles in under an hour, not super fast but not too shabby. Strava told me that I burned 280 calories in that time. A young guy (maybe late 20's) logged an almost exact ride yesterday too and it showed he burned 450 calories....
So not fair
And I wonder why it's so hard to lose weight when you are a woman, older, and in my case, short.3 -
in my late 40's and just packed on about 7 extra pounds in the last few months......feel free to add me also! needing to get motivated again..was in maintenance for a few years and i guess slacked up too much!1

He probably weighs a lot more than you... I would take the lower calorie count over that any day!0 -

Maybe but not by much. He's not a big guy. I think it's just age and gender.1 -
Hi all, I'm 44 in August, married with no children and due to health reasons (and wanting cute clothes reasons!) I'm here to lose roughly 80 pounds. I lost 40 of the 120 I needed to lose and kept it off thank goodness, but have stalled and gone off the rails in the last year. Time to get back on and finish this journey! I'd love some friends to encourage and motivate each other every day, so feel free to add me! My diary is open to friends.3

I didn't do so well, eating wise, this pasta weekend. It was Mother's Day weekend so I will let it slide this time. But now ready to start the week getting back on track.3

I turned down some fruit danishes that someone bought in. Had some beef jerky and an apple for a snack and had some leftover fish for lunch. Just gotta fight the good fight:)4

Hi! I’m 46, but young at heart! I’ve lost 20 pounds and want to lose another 20. I find every day there is some sort of temptation but if you eat a healthy nutritious diet those temptations are easier to dismiss. I started the day with scrambled egg whites and spinach and half a whole wheat English muffin and it has kept me very satisfied. Trying to up my exercise too. I actually jogged on the treadmill doing intervals for 20 minutes yesterday. Felt good! Strangely enough. I’m getting out of a weight loss rut. Feel free to add me as a friend. It’s always great to have some motivation and support.5

I feel your pain. Went running with my husband after training for weeks to improve my stamina. He did double the distance, much quicker and obviosuly burned more. Without prior training. Never went again with him.0 -

How is that possible?! That's like another Canadian friend saying they had never had a taco or burrito.1
