I think, our girl is losing her hearing and misses some of the storms. Thankfully, cuz she's a mess. Shakes and pants uncontrollably. Our boy, seems to have developed anxiety with storms. When we first brought him home, 2 years ago, they didn't phase him. Now, he lays between us and shakes. Glad Miss T has a safe place. I feel so bad for pups with fears like that. They just don't understand, but know they don't like it.0 -
SATURDAY
Good morning,
Allergy season for Miss T - her stomach is rumbling again - if she eats grass then that will help.
Normal errands - groomer postponed until next week so maybe another shop to visit - want to replace watchband.
Too cold to chat - diving back under covers.

Good morning All~~
I just read all of the new posts, and I'm overwhelmed, so will go back again later on--maybe while waiting at airport. Today I go up to NYC for a bit for doctors appointments and then the R & R cruise on June 5th.
I ate clean yesterday and counted the ice cream I seem to have had a dire need for, and the body was glad.

Sara - we have already seen many pups with allergies, this Spring/Summer. I'm miserable with my allergies, I feel terrible for animals. I watched a show on Animal Planet. This family had a 15 month old pit bull that had allergies, but couldn't figure out what to. The vet school tested his skin, I think 28 different things.. poor thing, was allergic to about 15 or so, including grass and trees! He has to be on special medsfor rest of his life...
Lana - Great WI! safe travels! Forgot about your cruise. You'll have to tell us all about the Cabana Boys!
Twiley- I love cornbread! Not in TN, tho...
1 -
Twiley- I'm in the Northeast, close to Gatlinburg. I'm a transplant here. So I really do not have a southern comfort foods. But I am loving living in Tennessee.2

I just got a watch wristband replacement tool that I bought online and the new wristband at Walmart this morning, I got it fixed in 10 minutes after I figured out the trick to it. I liked my watch and did not want to have to buy another one.1

Welcome to Twiley, Izenzo, Kyu, Eryn and any other new person I’ve missed! I’m Tess and I live just outside of DC. Also known as the Humidity Capital. While I’ve lived here for many years, I grew up in Upstate NY, where it actually gets cooler after it rains, so I am not a fan of DC summers! Still trying to figure out why it is now more humid than it was before today’s thunderstorm....
I can tell the warm weather is here - my addiction to ice cream has returned! I’m keeping true to portion control, however.
Waves to Sara, Lana, Dawn, Kathryn, Missy, Saltine and all other friends who are lurking or running through.
Best,

SUNDAY
Good morning,
Up with dog. She was supposed to go to groomer yesterday so I held off on her flea meds, but by last night I had to and she is doing a lot better. Bedding today for laundry - weather here shifts 20 degrees so hard to know how to plan long term.
Kathryn- you asked about recipe for sweet potato shepherd's pie - bake and roast sweet potatoes, mash. Set aside. Cook meat of choice (chicken and turkey work well in this one) add frozen veg. See no recipe...Will also set up stroganoff (I have chicken and turkey in house...) using tomato paste, mushrooms and sour cream. Egg noodles to go with that. Both of these will make good lunches. Eggs/canadian bacon/english muffin - or breakfast burrito round out possible meals.
Back to sleep. Groceries and then call Vet - when can I bring Miss T in and also pick up allergy meds???? Dont know yet.

Sara, I am running through here, and will be back later, but I just had to make sure to say that I received your wonderful card. Thank you thank you thank you!!
So cute--every little kitty!
Not only is the card just great, I also took it as an homage or a nod to our Serial Starters affection for *kitten*s....... LOL!!!
Big hugs and big gratitude flying out from New York to California to you~~~

Lana - almost crying over here. I could not resist that card, and yes there were 2 reasons I liked it.
8 of this weeks 12 meals are done - sweet potato shepherds pie is cooling and while it was baking I took the rest of the mashed sweet potato (couple weeks ago on sale 2 pounds for a dollar....) with scrambled eggs and canadian bacon ( cheese on "do not eat" list) will have one for dinner. I considered doing the last third but clumsiness in the kitchen happens when I try to do too much......
Tomorrow I will go out to eat and get a hamburger no lettuce and no cheese and yes to fries!!
Someone told me to go look at Ross/Marshalls pet section, so I will do that first.
Veteran I know told me to make sure to watch PBS Memorial Day Concert - http://www.pbs.org/national-memorial-day-concert/home/
Seems it is tonight.....
Time to eat lunch.1 -
If you’re not from Indy, you might not get it. But today is race day. It’s a national holiday for us. You gather around the radio at porch parties to listen to it. You get in line at 3am just to be the first in the gates at 6 when the cannon goes off. You salute the troops. You sing Back Home Again in Indiana. You watch the greatest spectacle in racing, and then you sit in traffic for three hours to leave. And it’s all worth it. It’s race day folks. LETS GO!!!! #indy500

For my friends outside of Indiana, this will give you an idea of just how massive the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is.
4 -
Kathryn, used to be up early to watch the Indy 500 really had no idea it was that large. For all its hassles, I can imagine why it is worth it.
Will also check out dog section in Ross tomorrow, also looking for small rugs to cover the line where linoleum and carpet meet. Old carpet pulling back and there is only so much you can do.
Dog is doing much better today with flea meds and glands expressed. Much like a small child one does not sleep if cat/dog is not well.
Wishing all a good evening.1 -
MONDAY
Good morning,
Thank you to those who served to protect our country.
Scale was kind (didnt do the full "weigh in" outfit), the protein bars were a once a week delight this past week not a daily escape so that is nice. Apple came in handy as a 2nd snack.
Crock pot today - turkey stroganoff - what I can remember from a crock pot recipe - canned mushrooms (laziness on my part), ground turkey, tomato paste and sour cream and probably a little water - over egg noodles.
Not too much on to do list today- think reading and maybe napping, hottest day of week upper 90's.
Dog is done time for more sleep for me.
BBL1 -
Happy Memorial Day!
Sara - glad Miss T is feeling better with allergies and fleas. Bugs are so bad this year, already... ugh0 -
blah blah blah post went into outerspace......
Dawn the flying bugs are going to be fun this summer.
Here is my $90 day - lunch with tip, 2 area rugs, bubba 24 oz, baseball cap for dog walking, and 3 tops. Did well.
Grateful I can take care of myself and cook. Crockpot is on and will start smelling good.
Stay cool and dont get too sunburned.1 -
Sara - what a great day for you! Not looking forward to bugs at all!0

TUESDAY
Good morning. Back to work. What a mess will be waiting for me. Organize my work file and start plowing through it.
Window open and fan on - another 90 day should cool off tomorrow, as much as the weather website online? Probably not, but cooler is cooler.
Looked at receipt from yesterday, why are hats so expensive? Labor intensive for sure, but people used to wear them all the time......
Dog got me up this morning, she also got me up middle of the night. Drinking more water with allergies and heat. She will feel better after grooming Saturday.

Good Morning! It's Tuesday... back to work! At least we have a shorter week, eh?
I did pretty good this weekend, despite the holiday weekend. Not great. I indulged a little but definitely didn't go overboard.
My husband and I did get our weight lifting rack and everything set up in the garage. Man, it was hot in there! I live in Charleston, SC and it's been hot, humid, and wet the past few days! Got a good sweat going though and finished my first Stronglifts workout. Nice and sore today, but eager for progress. I took starting photos for extra motivation.
Goal is to stay within my calories today and get in a walk/run after work! Also - continue upping my water intake.

Good morning all! For those headed back to the office after a long weekend, good luck with re-entry.
I was going to moan about today’s weather in DC (no sun, rain in forecast AGAIN) but read the posts from Sara and Eryn first. Yikes! Our temps and humidity are not that bad today.
Focusing on getting to the gym, keeping calories within reason and eating up the bounty from the first CSA week. Learned how to stew rhubarb and cook beets (didn’t like beets before - now like them chilled and in salads. Saw a recipe for roasted beets - will have to try that next.)
BBL,

Good morning All~~
I missed stopping by yesterday: I went out to Long Island to visit my girlfriend with the rare brain cancer. I was so delighted that she is back in her own house (no longer in sister's house or rehab facility), is so much happier, has 24/7 care, and is doing well, all things considered. Other people came to visit, and there were a lot of stories told and laughs had.
Meanwhile, I have really been a slacker and off program for too long now. I will get back on the stick today.
Will be back later.
Everyone have a good day today~

Kathryn - thank you for posting that photo. It was really interesting to see.1 -
Tess - roasted beets- think roasted radishes as well!!
On way to work..... bbl2 -
Waving to all from work! I was bad for the weekend. Very bad. It will continue for a bit, but I am trying to keep my indulgences to a minimum.
Three day work week for me. Have more vacation coming up Friday and next Monday.
Noticed yesterday the face of my Fitbit is cracked. Hope it will maintain itself until November when I get my bonus so I can buy another.
Enjoy your day!1 -
Good evening,
Ceiling fans are on. 98 high for today with orange air quality (sensitive groups). Consider me sensitive......
Wishing all a good night

Sara - temps here are already way too warm... haven't even had a chance to walk, just stifling... ugh... wishing for more comfy temps for you...0

WEDNESDAY
Good morning,
Dog made sure I kept her to schedule. Temps are up from last week prediction. We get a south breeze that cools us off in the summer ( also brings pollution from Bay Area) and so it will not be as bad today.
Making Jello tonight for my solid food Thursday/Friday. Have not had Jello in ages. Have also not had chocolate chip cookies in ages (taking care of that as well.....).
Stay cool drink lots of water and dont overdo - or try not to.
Wave to all who follow.1 -
Mmmmm.......roasted beets. Yum!
Sara - sorry to hear about those temperatures. I trust you will do whatever you can to be as comfortable as possible. Jello !!!
Dawn - sorry to hear about your warm temps too~~
Waving to Tracy and Kathryn and Saltine and Missy and Eryn and Izenzo and Tess and anyone else who stops by later on.

Stopping by for a quick wave. "Hi!"
Today is not the best. Finishing off leftovers from our grill out. But I will have four days this weekend to prepare for next week and my choices will be better tomorrow. I'm doing the best I can and not beating myself up about being off track. That is the best advice I can give anyone. Don't get in a down spiral if things are not perfect all the time. You know what to do and how to do it, just do the best you can.
Happy Wednesday to all!3
