Time it took to lose: on and off 3 years. First 30 in 4 months and then gradually reduced goal weight
How long in maintenance: 12 months
Maintenance weight range: 115-120
Average weight recorded from 2017 (12months): 121
Average weight recorded from April: 114.9
Week of 4 May: 113.5
Week of 11 May: 113.25
Week of 18 May: 111.75
Week of 25 May: 112.75
Successes/struggles of the week: Keeping up with exercise and staying pretty active. Trying to up calories a bit but still struggling with balance. As I’m a bit on the low side, logically I can afford to have some indulgences, as I did last weekend. But then I hate the water bloat and feeling heavy afterwards so end up restricting! And on the cycle goes. I’m doing my research on “lean bulking” as it seems that’s what i might need to do. Or just try and focus food which is low volume but high cal? Pondering...4 -

Age: 46
Height: 5'2.5"
Total Weight lost:145lbs
Time it took to lose: 2.75yrs
How long in maintenance: Since 4/14/17

Jan-Jun 2017 avg weight trend: 124.4lbs
Jul-Dec 2017 avg weight trend: 119.2lbs
January avg weight trend: 118lbs
February avg weight trend: 117.9lbs
March avg weight trend: 117.8lbs
April avg weight trend: 117.5lbs
Trend week of...
27th April: 117.5lbs
4th May: 118.7lbs (Bingeing starting to show up on my scale and belly roll.)
11th May: 119lbs (Managed to bank and eat low sodium for a few days for Mother's Day, so weight is actually higher. I may just learn to accept my pot belly since my face looks haggard under 120.)
18th May: 119lbs
25th May: 119.2lbs
Successes of the week: Maybe had more good days than bad? Yay, me!! Trying to post a self-affirmation to my wall each morning, especially about flexibility and trusting myself. Going to add them to the cupboard door above my food scale, too.
Challenges of the week: Again, a few evening binges. On the days I banked, I went just past maintenance, which is acceptable when I am generally doing well, but a couple of times I zoomed past it. One was a blowout that literally was me destroying a good day "just because"(Not kidding, but my inner child is oppositional defiant. Didn't have that name back in the day, was just a “brat.”) Then last night, all my sheets were in the wash and was up 4 hours late. As always, the later it gets the weaker I get. I also ate a ton of pretzels to settle my GERD. Going to try the apple cider vinegar thing as soon as I have money again. (Hubby is self-employed, and the work just isn't there lately.)

@CoachJen71 haven't you see all the woo threads here on apple cider vinegar? - drinking it wont help, so save your money.
You're doing just fine!
@Rachelmilloy Thanks for posting your update here, talk about taking medical news in a positive way and aiming to turn things around - I wouldn't be surprised when you have a follow up check up if tests show a dramatic improvement. You have such a great attitude my friend
@faeburt you currently are at a low weight for your height so bulking up in a lean way would be just the thing - there are lots of threads on here about that, look in the gain forum or start a new thread yourself there, there a several extremely knowledgeable people here who will happily help you.
I always enjoy reading this thread (I'm a long time maintainer)- you guys are all rocking maintenance

@LivingtheLeanDream Ruth it is definitely woo for weight loss, but is it also woo for GERD? Some folks seem to think it helps, but I am not sure I would be one of them or not. (It is telling that I would rather drink vinegar than give up my acid reflux trigger foods, tho!)0

on that I have no knowledge but if it did help your reflux then I agree, drink away at it.0 -

Successes/struggles of the week: I am proud of myself. I completed a 10-mile Tough Mudder on Sunday. I did obstacles I wouldn’t have even ATTEMPTED to try to do a year ago - run up that muddy, curved wall and grab that rope at the top so you can pull yourself over the wall... sure! Crawl through mud under barbed wire for an extended period of time... got it! Carry a 200-lb stranger for 50 yards in the mud... no problem (pic as proof included)! I didn’t skip a single obstacle, though I failed a few and struggled with some, too. Next time, I will be even stronger, so I will do better!
My weight went up by as much as 8-lbs for several days after the event. A combination of stress, carb loading and DOMS left me feeling so heavy and bloated for an extended period of time. I only started seeing my normal scale numbers again yesterday. Today was, thankfully, a perfect 124.2 lbs.
Have a great Memorial Day weekend, my friends from the states! Everyone else, cheers to a great week!

@sofchak that is SO INSPIRING!!!! You must feel great about this stellar accomplishment, way to go!!0

@LivingtheLeanDream, ah thank you so much for your encouraging words!
@sofchak, glad you posted that fabulous picture - such a wonderful, joyful image of accomplishment. I hope you are framing it and hanging it in a conspicuous spot!
Name: Rachel
Age: 65
Height: 5'8.5"
Total Weight lost: about 50 lbs
Time it took to lose: about 10 months
How long in maintenance: since September 2017
Maintenance weight range: below 153 lbs, preferably 140s...
Average weight recorded for 2017 (just maintenance period): 147.3 lbs
Average weight recorded from January: 153.3 lbs
Average weight recorded from February: 148.7 lbs
Average weight recorded from March: 147.5 lbs
Average weight recorded from April: 151.4 lbs
Week of...
6th May: 148.8 lbs
13th May: 146.6 lbs
20th May: 145.8 lbs
27th May: 146.2 lbs (just the body being its usual, contrary, maddening, fluctuating self!)
Successes/struggles of the week: Everything's cool with me. Definitely feeling my very best on my "healthy liver" diet. I really think there's a connection between a nutritious diet, and a feeling of wellbeing - and I'm experiencing that, as well as more energy. Tried making my favourite pizza without the pepperoni, and just half the cheese, and a lower fat brand of mozzarella... so basically an olive, onion, mushroom pizza (373 calories). Well it tasted mighty fine!
Wishing y'all a great week! Big yay to all of us for finding our way to the Magic Land of Maintenance, and figuring out how to stay here!

Success/struggles of the week: Going the wrong way (again!) -- but I get a couple of weeks now without guests/family visiting and we have a family trip coming up in the middle of June so THAT is motivating me to lose whatever I can before our trip -- back on the bus (but that's another thread!). I love reading how everyone is managing their weight journeys and the balance of maintaining and living. Thanks for sharing -- it truly helps!3 -

Success/struggles of the week: This has been a weird week for me. Early in the week I was wondering if I had lost too much weight and I just didn't recognize it. A couple of family members have made comments that kind of bother me about how I have taken things too far. My sister thinks I need to gain 20 pounds back. And honestly I think my husband thinks I need to gain 10-15. It frustrates me when people tell me I need to stop trying to lose weight. I have not been trying to lose weight since July 2016. I have lost some since then, but that is just because I have increased my activity a lot and I have had to figure out how many calories I need to be eating which is why I still log and weight my food. So I made a new before and after picture to see if I was in fact too thin. I don't think I am. I think I look pretty good where I am.
Of course then we took a long weekend since it was a holiday weekend and my husband's birthday. We went to visit our daughter so there was lots of awesome eating out and more alcohol and treats. Then when we got home our son was there with his girlfriend and there was barbecuing and more drinks and treats. It was a fun four days, but I definitely ate more than I am used to eating lately. It was really good this morning to get back to my regular schedule. I had a really nice 5 mile run this morning followed by some yoga. My weight is definitely up, but I know that it is mostly just water weight and probably extra food in my system. And even though it is up I am still in my maintenance range. I knew that my weight would be up, but it still is hard sometimes to not freak out when it goes up like that, but I do know that it is not going to keep going up. It will probably come down a bit, and even if it doesn't I am right in the middle of my maintenance range so it is all good.
But this week has definitely had me swinging from thinking "is my weight too low?" to "is my weight too high?".
I decided I would go ahead and post my before and after photo. The before is September 2015. I was 47 and weighed 195.6 pounds. The after was taken on May 19th right before I ran my first half marathon. I am 50 and weighed 119.4 that morning. I think I look pretty good for an old lady. And I honestly don't think I look too thin.

@kgirlhart - I think you look awesome and healthy.
You do look very slim, and in comparison to the populace as a whole, and your before picture I can see people might take notice of how slim you look. Personally, I think slim and healthy ( like you) is a wonderful look.
But as usual, you need to do you. I’d be very happy to look as you do (I’m same ageish but more weight still in a healthy range) but that is really irrelevant. You need to find where you are happy and tune out others - as long as you are healthy!3 -
@kgirlhart can I be you? You look lovely. Your face looks healthy and glowing, not anything like that gaunt look that can happen at too low a weight.
That said, your comfortable weight is for you to decide not random strangers like me on the internet lol!2 -
Thanks @brightresolve I do feel like I'm at a good weight.3

Struggles / Successes: Eating standing up is one of my bad habits -- and it looks like it has come back! I am going to remind myself that I don't want to pass this behavior to my son. Hopefully, I can get a grip on it.
As for success, getting back into my daily walks has really helped my weight and attitude. I feel so much better physically and mentally when I get out and walk! I have posted this before, but I have a real problem getting to bed on time and getting enough sleep. I have made a little improvement in this area, but I have to keep after it!4 -
