Embrace your Awesomeness!

It is time to stop feeling bad about yourself, and focus on how awesome you are both inside and outside!
Starting this very moment, you are going to look at the positives in yourself. A good attitude is the key to becoming healthier and making better decisions. This group is open to anyone and everyone who has ever felt disappointed when they looked in the mirror. It's time to see the truly beautiful person you are.
We are going to focus on the Non-Scale Victories to start:
" I walked the dog today and felt great! My dog was confused at first, but was also excited!"
Post as often as you'd like! We're here to encourage each other.
Jill

Hi Jill!
I got a little smile and a giggle out of "My dog was confused at first," .. I was visualizing you telling your dog that they had been invited into the 'Embrace your Awesomeness!' group, during the walk
Glad you felt great on your walk!11 -
Okay, so I just stood in front of our full length mirror in the bathroom, and before that nagging voice popped into my head, I started to dance and have fun. I couldn’t help but laugh.
I’m 5’8” and currently weigh 221 pounds. I’m not perfect. I am working on logging my food consistently. I am walking my dog. I am swimming whenever I can. Most importantly, I am embracing my awesomeness and enjoying the journey. Come join this crazy ride with me!❤️19 -
Love this post! Thank you!!!4

Today I’m getting creative in the kitchen... I’ll let you know what the critics say after dinner.
I’ve steamed broccoli, carrots, snap peas along with some basil from the garden and I’m combining it with grilled chicken and noodles.
I’ve sprinkled in Mrs Dash and some garlic with low sodium soy and some chicken broth.
Cross your fingers!

Dinner went pretty well. My husband and daughter are very picky eaters. My son and I will try just about anything.
Have a great night!4 -
Happy Tuesday my friends!0

At work I have a sitting/standing desk...and I love it. I sit when I'm exhausted and I stand for as long as I can. One thing I have to do is keep my dancing under control. I work as a secretary in the Community Ed/Food Service in our high school, so in the summer it's totally fine to wiggle and dance at my desk. During school when kids are all around, I have to keep it under control...although when Journey comes on my Pandora.....I can't be held responsible for what happens! Embrace your inner dancer.5

I tried last night's dinner for lunch...and it did not hold out well. Everything got mushy...but...my husband loves mushy...so it's all his for dinner! I'm feeling a tuna sandwich for dinner and getting the grass cut. What are you up to today?

My legs and butt ache today, but it’s great to know I worked them out yesterday. Carpe Diem!3 -
Late night snacking got to me yesterday when I got home. Potato chips are my kryptonite... what is your weakness?0

I took a run with my bf this past fall, and it was miserable. My back locked up, my knees hurt, and I got winded embarassingly quickly. Hated it so much I didn't bother running again.
...til last week, after losing 30 lbs I tried running that same route and it was effortless. 2.75 miles, not much but I felt great and nothing hurt.13 -
I'll join in... My NSV is that even though I've felt sluggish all week, I've gone for a daily walk each day and am getting ready to lace up my shoes to go3

Great post! Negative thinking has been soooooo deeply ingrained in me since childhood. I a reading the book You Are a Badass right now and trying to learn to stop expecting so little of myself. Hope everyone is having a good week.5

Luckily(?) because of a medical condition, I can't actually taste much. It's done wonders for my snacking problem. I equally fear and look forward to the day that I can taste again. Then - chips. I love them.1 -

Love your optimistic attitude! Just wanted to suggest roasting vegetables instead. Add a bit of olive oil or spray and toss with onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper and roast. Gives them much more flavor and the hold up better as leftovers.2 -
