    Needed self-care big time!

Soaked my feet in bubble bath shallow tub, then rubbed, buffed, clipped, dried, etc...

Massages with lotion & put on nice clean socks. And then massaged my legs and arms as an extra treat!

Bubble bath made the bathroom smell Great!!

Things that have been my rules for 3 years:

I will go for a walk or run every day.

I will not eat calories I haven't earned yet.

I will attend parkrun every Saturday.

    More recent rules:

I will not drink alcohol. (Since Jan 31 2018).

I will do handstands and stretching for 5 minutes every day. (Since June 1 2018).

I want to keep this up!

For those who didn't click the link, they suggested reassessing your rules after 30 days.

Some people may be too hard on themselves.

Things like "no chocolate" tends to lead to bingeing for some, for example.

Some people go 30 days without alcohol, then think it allows them to have 5 drinks every night for the rest of the year.

No alcohol has worked for me for 170 days so far, but it might not work for others.

    Sustainable rules lead to success.

Today's self-care was "enforced" since I awoke to no tv, phone, or internet. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
    1. First, I read the Bible, which helped calm my fears about my Pookie cat.
    2. Next, I read 4 chapters in a new and very promising novel. Had it not been for the Cable going out, I probably would have returned it to the library unread.
    3. Lastly, I listened to some OLD LP's while coloring in my beautiful coloring book.
That got me through my morning weekend routine of relaxing with two large cups of tea.

    2) No alcohol/drinking at home. Aiming to be alcohol free period.

Thanks for the encouragement @SaraKim17 !! It sure is good exercise & great for step count — with a sense of accomplishment & a nice space afterwards! Win, win, win,win :)

Now off to do another hour!!

Today I put some money in my superannuation fund.

Not much, but if there's one thing I've learned from MFP, losing weight, and running, it's that all the small efforts can make a big difference.

Sorry, I have been distracted with worry about my cat, so I just noticed this. I am SO thankful she's doing better!

I'm off this week, so on this stormy morning I'm relaxing with Pookie, good tea, a surprisingly good novel, and now MFP. Also, I've actually lit a candle, something I enjoy but rarely do (to be honest, I would like to do this a lot more often, but anxiety holds me back).

I hope everyone is having a good day! 💕

i have been dog-sitting for my boss for a few days, and i am LOVING all the walks i get to go on with her! It’s funny how many people want to stop and chat when you’re out walking with a dog! Ruby is an 11 year old black lab / bernese mountain dog, a very friendly giant! happy to share her with my neighborhood, and she’s just as happy to get so many head rubs!

This morning I did another item on my mental "I'm procrastinating because I'm scared" list.

This afternoon or tomorrow I think I'm going to go to Michaels or Staples and pick up a pretty planner of some sort. It's going to be my One Difficult Thing planner. I'm going to pick one scary, intimidating, confusing, difficult (you get the idea) thing to do each day. I hope this doesn't sound too pathetic, LOL!

I have little smiley face stickers, and I'll give myself one for each successful day. Sometimes we just have to play games with ourselves.
