ChelleTrell. That’s not me in the video. I just follow her and post it each week. I wish I was close to getting a 75 lb pin.

Trooworld. I like your idea of keeping a NSV journal. My journaling has gone by the wayside this week with my guest. I don’t have enough alone time right now. The time I do take is reserved for my exercise and my nap Last time she came I didn’t do that. But now it’s me first. My health depends on it.

TeresaW1020. As I mentioned to ChelleTrell that’s not me in the video. So you still made progress with the potlucks. I have set myself some boundaries with my outings. Potlucks are usually I get to choose just 3 things on the table and eat them and enjoy it. No seconds. Normal size portion Dessert is 1 choice and a half portion. Also say no to appetizers before the meal unless I want to give up a third of my meal choice. I just decide what I really want the most. I’ll look into headspace

Mjsunshine that’s huge. Resisting the Girl Scout Cookies. I have homemade choc chip sitting on my counter. I had my original portion and now won’t have any til at least next Saturday. Self induced deadline. I doubt they will be around then. My son and husband will take care of it. I usually give some to my mil caregiver. That gets them out of the house too.

That’s it for me. I did 12 min walk outside. It was a rest day for me but wanted to keep up my good morning habits. But no gym.

Hey everyone! Yesterday was my weekly weigh in and I lost .3lb. I know I haven’t been working out as consistently as I had been before, so that’s gonna be my focus for the next week. I’m a little anxious about the next few weeks and my progress. I have a work trip, then a bachelorette party/weekend, and then my boss is coming into town to visit my shop. I feel like I have no routine right now, my days off are all mixed up, and it honestly kinda freaks me out. I’m just afraid that I am going to lose my momentum. On the plus side I am looking forward to hitting up the hotel gym while I’m out of town. Haven’t been on an elliptical in ages!

@mjsunshine16 How did you like your weight lifting session? I really wanna get into that soon when I’m ready. Great job resisting the Girl Scout cookies!

@theslightedgeforever Haaha Oops! I was wondering why your bitmoji did not match the woman in the video. Glad to hear your keeping up your morning routine even on rest days. I am still struggling with getting back into my exercise routine.

@trooworld I love the idea of tracking NSV’s! I’m gonna start doing that I think it can help me put some things into perspective.

@TeresaW1020 I’m the same way. If sweets are near me I want to eat them all. I have a bunch of leftover snacks from our beach day, I’m bringing them all to my shop for the staff so I won’t be tempted. Great job looking on the bright side after this weeks weigh in! Sounds like you’ve really prepped yourself for success this week.

@TeresaW1020 Oh, I'm sorry you had a gain. Maybe there wasn't enough time to wash away the carbs and sodium from what you ate with water, so maybe it will come off next week. I think I have Headspace on my app, although I haven't tried it yet. I'm very interested in mindfulness, I've studied it a bit when it comes to weight loss, I studied it with a registered dietician I was working with. It was very helpful.

@mjsunshine16 Brava! Way to go!!! :D

@theslightedgeforever that's good you are putting your health first this time. Yes, a NSV journal is great because you can look back at it when you are having a bad day.

@ChelleTrell at least you went down instead of up! :) What's your plan to stay consistent over the next few weeks while things get rocky?

Hello all. Going to BodyPump this morning. I had chicken fajitas for dinner and they were delicious. Yes, I had the tortillas and no, I feel no guilt. I tracked it all! ;) Have a lovely day. @cbabie, do we have to send another owl???

@trooworld I love the no guilt. I bought tortillas for this weekend :-)

@TeresaW1020 My Fitbit has a feature where I can stop and breathing exercises to relax. I haven’t used it much but I like that I have the option.

@theslightedgeforever NSVs are just as important as a loss. Journaling it is a wonderful idea.

@ChelleTrell I liked it. I wasn’t able to do two exercises but will try them the next session. I was sore that night but yesterday I felt great.

Yesterday was my off day at the gym. One thing I am working on is not pushing myself to much. When I’ve done it in the past my body crashes hard and then I can’t do anything. So control is the goal. Hope you all have a great.

    Good morning!!

@mjsunshine16, way to go by resisting fast food and Girl Scout cookies!! I totally understand what you mean by what a big step that was for you. And doesn't it feel awesome to resist and not give in? You are so right about not pushing yourself. I have done that in the past and would end up causing some kind of injury that would keep me from exercising until I healed. I've learned to listen to my body when it comes to working out. :)

@theslightedgeforever, thanks for clearing up that you are not the lady in the video. I like her!

@ChelleTrell, I totally understand what you mean by having your days all mixed up and being out of your routine. It's always much harder to stay focused on what we should be doing when life is crazy. But good for you for losing something and already having a plan to get on that elliptical. I had a great elliptical and never used it so it got sold and now that I'm really into working out, I so wish I had it back. Hindsight!!

@trooworld, thanks for the consolation and I agree that I didn't have enough time to wash out all the sodium. I LOVE fajitas and make them at least once month. I use the Ole Extreme Wellness tortillas. 1 point for one!

So, the scale was down this morning. Yayy!! I had a great day yesterday with my eating and exercise and plan to keep it up today! We have family coming in about three weeks that we haven't seen in almost 5 years and I really want to look my best. OK, I'm off to work!! B)

    Morning all
I was so busy yesterday, then came home to try to find something to fix for the crew to eat...ended up being pancakes..I ate them and totally fell sound asleep...too many carbs..LOL No exercise yesterday, so going to walk around my pool again in a few min. I just needed to get on here before the day got away from me again.

@mjsunshine16 Yes we must listen to our body...I am one of those all or nothing and it usually ends up being nothing..LOL

@theslightedgeforever You got this...you have made improvements over the last time family came for a visit!!

@ChelleTrell I am totally a routine person, which is why I struggle these days...Trying to get mine back in place. The elliptical and me just don't like each other..LOL

@trooworld No I am here...no owl needed. I love fajitas too!! You counted so all is good!!

@TeresaW1020 Congratulations on the loss for the month...It's great you are focusing on the overall, not just the today. If we keep making small changes they add up to be big changes...like one penny leads to a $$ when we keep collecting the small change.

@tulsalo Great job on walking...movement that's what counts. So glad you made you and your dad happy!! I miss taking my dad treats, his eyes would just light up. LOL

@TrishasTime Hope you are getting some needed rest and your cough is much better!

    Have a great day all!!!

@theslightedgeforever it's awesome you are getting so much from the WW meetings! Even if it's someone else talking about it lol. I definitely thought that was you too.

@trooworld good ideas on meal prep. I do meal prep but I hadn't thought about cooking the same base protein different ways so I don't get sick of it. I really like that idea! What are some of the combos you use when doing this? Just to get some ideas. Sometimes you have to say yes to the tortillas lol. Sounds like you deserve them with going to a class called BodyPump. I still don't know how I feel about group exercise.

@TeresaW1020 thanks! good job on looking on the positive side or a gain and getting back to making a planfor the week! I've never used headspace but I have heard a lot in the last couple of years about mindfulness. It is something that you have to actively practice but doing so does help in my experience.

@mjsunshine16 good job on resisting! Every cookie less we eat is progress. Pushing yourself may seem like progress but it's important to know your limits. Good that you are being aware of that.

@ChelleTrell being aware you are entering the danger zone helps you put things into placeso you don't slip back into ways you don't want to. It's good that you're recognizing it before it happens that way you can tackle it even if you have to adjust your routine a little. I love hotel gyms! They are always empty so it's like having your own personal fancy gym lol. Enjoy!

Doing well with staying in my calorie goals. Said no to peach pie and ice cream tonight at a birthday dinner. Seriously, my life is a diet minefield of desserts. Does anyone else have this problem? I have successfully gone over a week without any candy or sweets! It might not seem like much but if you knew how much I was eating before you would know this is HUGE for me. I think my body is starting to reset a little from having less sugar and I am feeling better already.

ChelleTrell. Just keep working on your routine. It took me over a year to perfect mine. I use Trello to help. But it has paid off as I’ve had a houseguest for 9 days and still kept up 80% of my routine each day. That tells me I’m forming habits. Now I need to explore reasons for the other 20% and see how I can do better next time. There are always solutions to every situation. Just a matter of finding them and then doing them. That’s great you have planned ahead for your trip and thought about how you will get in your exercise. As for routine, start small and build. I started with a walk outside my house after breakfast for 5 min. I just recently made it 10. Then decided to add 1-2 min to make sure it registers on my Fitbit. Now I’m continuing it even on my rest days. Old me would have said it’s my day off. This is how a habit is formed.

Trooworld I’m glad you enjoyed your tortillas. I should add that to my meal plans. You made me laugh with the 🦉.

Mjsunshine. I was thinking about Trooworld’s no guilt thing too. I don’t know if I’ve ever felt guilt usually disappointment. Then began thinking why no guilt. What does that say about me. I decided that guilt would imply I did something wrong according to someone else’s rule. All I did was make a bad choice according to my own rules I set up. Next time I’ll do better I have the same idea as you when it comes to taking a day off or just pushing myself hard. It backfired on me eventually and I suffer a setback. I really am the turtle versus the hare

TeresaW1020. I’m glad you liked Sandy in the video as you would like me then 😜. We share the same sense of humor. Same distractedness (is that even a word). I have an elliptical that I dont use either. It hurts my legs. I prefer the treadmill. Yaaay on the scale being down. So what’s your plan to stay on track when the family comes. I thought had a plan but after stepping on scale yesterday it isn’t working. After analyzing I know where I went wrong and next time know what to do.

Cbabie. That’s good that you got on here instead of waiting til next day. Maybe evenings are better suited to do this so you can recap your day. As I keep telling you about all or nothing, you are the driver of your vehicle. Look what you just said about the pennies adding up. That’s meant for you too. I think your daily challenge needs to be stop each day and pick up a penny then come tell us about it. Did you walk around your pool?

Tulsalo. I’m not a group exercise person. I’ve done it in the past but enjoy my alone time more Look at you using your say no to sweets muscle. It will just get stronger and stronger. I have a hard time with certain sweets so I can’t keep those in the house. I probably have more problems with regular food and portion control.

TeresaW1020 I forgot. I looked up the headspace app. I almost downloaded it and then thought why not use the Relax function on my Fitbit. I’m better than I used to be on mindfulness. I think my friend would like it so I’ll share it with them. Thanks.

So I’m just gonna open myself up a bit and be completely honest with all of you because I have grown to really value the support I get from this group.

Long story short the last 2 days at work have been rough and right now I am feeling very hurt and betrayed. As a way to deal with my emotions I immediately turned to food. I went out, got fast food, and ate my feelings. I pre-logged the food, saw that it would put me a few hundred calories over my goal, and still made the decision to eat everything.

I’m very disappointed in myself right now and I feel like I’m losing control.

@mjsunshine16 I'm in this for the long haul. I'm eating like I'm going to eat for the rest of my life, which means I can have tortillas, cookies, anything in moderation and as long as I track it. What are you putting in your tortillas? That's smart not to push yourself to the point of crashing...just do what you can so you can keep going.

@TeresaW1020 I haven't tried the Ole Extreme Wellness, but if they are the texture of Flatouts, I won't like them (I think they are rubbery lol). I prefer to spend the points on real tortillas. Are they like Flatouts? I'm intrigued that they are only 1 pt! Yay for the scale going down!!!

@cbabie My husband loves pancakes. I eat them occasionally too. Glad you are here.

@tulsalo Actually, I do not do the protein combining like I suggested lol. I SUGGEST that to keep it simple, but I don't do it! Isn't that funny? My meal prep ends up being more complicated than it needs to be but it isn't always complex. I use the Instant Pot as much as possible, this week on Sunday I made: Instant Pot Ropa Vieja (which is a Cuban beef dish), mock chicken tofu, chicken fajitas, Instant Pot Cajun Chicken, and I have yet to prepare: Pita Pizzas. I always leave Pita Pizzas on the menu because they can just be slapped together quickly. I also didn't mention the frozen veggies in steam bags that will be served with the dinners. I used to hate group exercise classes (and I still hate any group class that requires coordination!) but BodyPump is a weightlifting class that requires -0- coordination. There is a lot of lunges, squats, pushups, and lifting of weights involved but not coordination, so I don't mind the group setting...it kind of pushes me to do better. I run into dessert problems at work, they always seem to be there but it has gotten easier to say no to that. Congrats on your success with saying no!

@theslightedgeforever I did enjoy the tortillas. ;) Then, for lunch the next day, I made a fajita bowl with rice.

@ChelleTrell ((( HUGS ))) you had one slip, you still have control. Make the next decision a good one, start over with the next bite. It happens to us all.

Hello all. Traffic has just sucked all week so far. Last night, it took 1 hr 35 minutes to get home, the night before 1 hr 30 mins. I hope tonight is better! At least I'm listening to a pretty good book: The Motivation Myth, which says that motivation isn't what gets you started, it's not the spark that starts it all, it's what keeps you going once things get started. What gets you started are the small wins. And in my case, I've found this to be true. The book gets off topic in places, but overall is worth a read/listen.

    morning!
I have a brunch at First Watch here in a few...It is hotter than blue blazes outside already...but I walked 20 min around my pool, fast sweating pace. I did that yesterday too!

@trooworld I love that you said this is a lifestyle...I am still working that concept. When I get it I will get it...sweets and bread....my problem children...time to discipline them..LOL

@ChelleTrell Thank you for being transparent...Chelle, we have all been there or are there...we just pick up our selves up and know that we keep striving for the good choices...it really is a journey. Have you ever taken a trip and it's all flatland and no trees or signs of life for miles...how BORING...you have to fight to stay away while driving...now go to the Hills of Kentucky or a place of turns and narrow roads going up, then down, not knowing what or who is around the curve? Are they in your lane? Can you stop if need be? Can you hug the side long enough to get safely around the curve? This is how our journey is...

    @theslightedgeforever Yes...I did the walk yesterday.. :)

Good morning! I’m taking a break from work because my brain hurts. I work for a very small church that seems to have a million things going all at once and of course, my wonderful staff of 5 likes to dump much of the grunt work in my lap and then go off to have lunch together. That’s OK because I can turn on my TV and get on MFP while I eat my lunch. B)

One of my pastors has lost a ton of weight super in a very short time and today he wanted to share with me that he is doing something called Optavia weight loss program. It’s a lot of shakes and protein bars, lean protein and green veggies. It’s also expensive! I love this guy and he is super convincing, especially to someone like me who really wishes I could just get the weight off and be done. But I don’t know if that is a route I want to take or even really consider. Anyone heard of it before?

@tulsalo, Yes!! My life is a mind field of desserts and church potlucks. If I could just live in my house and never leave it, then I think I would be skinny by now. Good for you for saying no to peach pie and ice cream!! :)

@theslightedgeforever, I agree that it is important to form good habits. I now love and crave time on my treadmill because I have gotten in the habit of doing it so much. When I started on it I could barely do 15 minutes at a slow walk and now I can do an hour at a very good pace. I find it fun to actually push myself to do more! I don’t know what I’m going to do when the family comes. I really need to spend some time thinking that out because I don’t want their three-day visit to derail me for weeks. :/

@Chelle Trell, I’m sorry that you have had such a rough time at work and can totally understand how when feelings get hurt it’s easy to turn to food for our comfort. I’ve been there many times! I think it’s awesome that you at least pre-logged your food. OK, you chose to eat what you ate and now it’s time to forgive yourself and move on. I hope things at work getting better!! ((Hugs))

@trooworld, I happen to love Flatouts and toast them up and make them into pizza. Ole Extreme Wellness tortillas aren’t like Flatouts. They are wheat tortillas so have a different flavor than plain flour ones. I LOVE them and can eat them straight out of the package or toast them in a skillet. They also come in spinach flavor! Worth a try, right?

@theslightedgeforever thanks! I wish my say no to sweets muscle wasn't having to be exercised to frequently lol but I guess that means it'll just get stronger so probably a positive in the long run. Most exercises I prefer to do alone or at most with a small group but I like to use the alone time during exercise to tune out and kind of meditate and focus. Portion control is a struggle to but I think tracking helps keep me more honest and aware.

@ChelleTrell sorry to hear you are having a difficult time. It takes courage to fess up to a slip even if it's a tracked one so proud of you for staying honest. Hang in there.

@trooworld lol that's so funny how that works isn't it?! I suggest things all the time but probably don't realize that it would be good to use some of what I think might work for other people. How do you make a pita pizza? Also very good point that you are eating like you are planning to the rest of your life. It is better to form good habits than fall prey to things that might work more quickly but aren't sustainable. I guess a class that doesn't require much coordination might be kind of fun to try and it might make me do the exercises I tend to hate and skip over if no one is around. Might have to be more open minded and try one. Added The Motivation Myth to my audible wishlist. I have a 45 minute bus ride to and from work so I've figured out that time to listen to audiobooks is kind of a gift. I read somewhere about decision being what we need rather than motivation so that book sounds like it might have some good tips.

@cbabie kudos for consistent walking! I work in an old walmart building remodeled into a cubible farm so I walk laps around it on my breaks and lunch and the steps really add up and help break up the day. Do you love having a pool?

@TeresaW1020 brain breaks are a must at work for me. I've never heard of that program before but I tend to be suspicious of things cost money and/or incorporate too much "not real food" like shakes and prepackaged bars. Just my opinion because I find it hard to sustain for very long because I will inevitable crave a hot meal or carbs and get sick of something preperscribed. Glad it has worked for him though! I like to think home is a safe bubble from temptations but not too long ago I discovered Door Dash and they deliver ANYTHING you want so it's all about making good choices over and over and trying to distract myself. That's awesome that you have worked up to an hour on the treadmill! And Flatouts are delicious! They also freeze pretty well too. I've never had spinach flavor, maybe they don't have them here but I'll have to be on the lookout.

So I had a difficult/emotional day today at work and otherwise. Used walks at work while listening to an audiobook (When It Happens To You by Molly Ringwold) to keep myself distracted enough to stay away from the breakroom vending machines. When I got home and the day finally quieted and all I wanted to do was order cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory, I distracted myself/made myself feel better by snuggling and loving on my 5 lb long haired chihuahua Paco till the craving passed. Hoping for an easy Friday and then onto the weekend. Hope everyone had good days!

@cbabie Great job with the walking! Do you ever actually go in the pool? Sweets and bread are a lot of people's problem child, don't feel alone ;) .

@TeresaW1020 A couple people at my job have taken similar routes as your pastor colleague. All I can say is that everyone has to find their own journey. For me, I'm not going to do anything to lose the weight that I can't do for the rest of my life, and I know I can't drink shakes and eat meal replacement bars for the rest of my life. But I do know a couple of people that that type of thing has worked for. We'll see if they keep the weight off though. Thanks for the review of the Ole Extreme Wellness tortillas. Now, I want to try them! They do sound worth a try.

@tulsalo Yes, it is funny. I make my pita pizzas by taking a whole wheat pita, putting sauce and toppings on it and baking it at 400F for about 13 minutes. It comes out really delicious and, with the ingredients I use, it comes out to be 8 SPs. re: BodyPump/exercise classes...exactly! I can't skip anything I don't want to do (I'm looking at you, pushups! ;) ). The only thing I have to warn you about the Motivation Myth now that I am done with it is that the author sometimes goes off on tangents that are unrelated to motivation, for instance, he tells you how to start a business for about 10 minutes. And his weight loss advice is garbage. So...with that in mind, I might suggest getting it at the library if you can. It is worth a listen, because the advice about motivation is good. I'm proud of you for not eating your feelings...great job! I'm sorry you had a bad day. You really handled it well. Awwww...Paco! Please feel free to post a picture of Paco ;) I love animals.

Hello all. I made a misstep at work yesterday. I won't say I messed up because it was just a misstep/wrong choice. I was starving and I wasn't looking forward to my lunch, and our director walked into my office and told my officemate and I that he just bought some tortellini from the cafe and that it has sausage and white wine cream sauce. My mind filled in the blanks that it was delicious and I should get some. So my officemate (who's also trying to lose weight) and I went and got some. Well, the cafe guy gave me a tiny portion and he gave her a portion that was 3 times the size of mine. I was kind of mad at first but then I was glad because I really didn't need to be eating that anyway. But it was awful besides...mushy, not enough sauce...not worth it. I tracked it though. The cafe guy actually saved me from myself! lol Today's my early day, I'm at work from 6:30-3 and then I'm free. Enjoy your day!

@trooworld I was doing pork tenderloin in the crockpot with mojo. Glad the cafe guy helped you come out on top. One thing I’ve gotten a little better add that if I bite into something and I’m not a fan and realize it will eat up my calories I get rid of it. No use wasting values on something that’s not satisfying.

@tulsalo great job working through the stress in a positive way.

@cbabie nice job walking around the pool.

@TeresaW1020 I have not heard of your pastors plan. I think living the lifestyle and not a trendy quick fix is the way to go.keep up your hard work.

So today was my second secret me day. Only work knew I was off. Yesterday I went to the gym, read at Barnes and Noble, and then a Movie. Today I went for a hike. I intended to hike 3 or so miles. Well I went for 8 1/2 miles. Now I’m replenishing my energy and resting. I didn’t give up and quit (even when I was sore) or rest to the point of not being able to move again. I am proud that I pushed through. It just proves I can do this!

@tulsalo, we have a service that will deliver things from around town too. Fortunately, I have a husband that LIVES to be supportive of my weight loss. :D:# Good for you for not giving into the cheesecake craving and choosing puppy snuggles instead. I adore my little dog but she doesn't snuggle until evening time and ONLY if she feels like it. Such a diva!! ;)

@trooworld, I don't know how many times I eat something that I "think" will be great only to realize that it wasn't worth it at all. Happy that guy chose to give you a smaller portion than you had originally wanted. Must have someone looking out for you! ;)

@mjsunshine16, how awesome that you have had some great you time!! 8 1/2 mile hike is AMAZING!! I'm super impressed and a little jealous. B)

I've had a good day except for my dang left foot. I've had on and off again issues with this foot for years and today it thinks it needs to hurt like crazy. I tried to walk on the treadmill but ended up after 10 minutes getting off and riding my recumbent bike for 20 minutes. I've been working out with much more intensity for a couple of weeks now and I think it's caught up with me. I'm taking tomorrow off and doing some retail exercising instead. :p

I am not doing any weird diet plans that I can't maintain for the rest of my life. It's why I chose WW and lately good old fashion calorie counting. I saw this Biggest Loser challenge over in the Challenges forum and decided to give it a try for August. I like challenges and accountability. Anyone else doing it or any other challenges? :)

    Morning everyone

Sorry been MIA - unfortunately went down a 3rd time, 2nd chest xray, more antibiotics. They were wondering at one stage if I had glandular fever. Thankfully not. I have just come to believe with the uber long hours of recent past - this is my body saying enough is enough.

It is great to see so many in this group all supporting one another. I have skimmed through the posts.

@slightedgeforever - puts the link to the WW from a utube. It is not @theslightedgeforever in the video (I know this cause I fell into the same trap :)

High Five to everyone who lost weight. - Me to - I lost .6 pound.

Hugs to those who did not quite achieve

Proud of those who confessed to a misstep (me too :() I know it takes a lot of courage to own up.

Sorry to hear work is unhappy for some - I can only hope it gets better for you

    Nice walking @cbabie and @slightedgeforever

Love the NSV - habits are forming - good job as I know it has been a hard road

Going to MammaMia tonight in the gold class - do you guys have gold class in US - Google would not give me a straight answer. In Aus it is a cinema with 30 seats, the seats are all recliners, you can order meals and drinks to come at certain times and the cinema staff bring them to you.

    Take care everyone

Went to a friends house. No time for personals. No exercise. Over calories. Was not one of my stellar days. On the up side houseguest is gone

@mjsunshine16 that sounds delicious! Where did you get the recipe? Care to share? ;) Yes, I'm glad he helped me too lol. I'm getting better at not eating things not worth it too, but I was so hungry I decided to eat it anyway. Your secret Me day sounds fabulous...I would love that day. 8 1/2 mile hike, wow, that is awesome! Congratulations!!!

@TeresaW1020 that's good that your husband is so supportive. Mine is too. Yes, indeed, someone is looking out for me! :D I'm sorry about your foot...is it plantar fasciitis or something else? Retail exercising sounds like just the cure. ;) I'm doing a HealthyWage challenge, have you heard of that? In case you haven't, it's basically betting on yourself to lose the weight. I am betting $20 a month for 9 months that I will lose 30 lbs by Feb 12th. If I do, I win $522 (the amount you win varies depending on certain factors). If I don't, I lose it all. It's definitely not an approach for everyone, but it is motivating me.

@TrishasTime I'm so glad to hear from you, I was wondering about you. I'm sorry to hear that you've still been sick. I am thinking good thoughts for a speedy recovery for you. Congrats on the weight loss. We have something similar to a gold class...there are chains of movie theaters that offer food and drinks and recliners. Here in California, the chain I'm familiar with is Cinepolis. I hope you have fun at Mamma Mia.

@theslightedgeforever Hi. I hope to hear more from you soon.

    @ChelleTrell I'm thinking of you.

Hi all. I just got back from BodyPump and am getting ready to go to my WW meeting to weigh in. I'm not sure what feedback the scale will give me, I was a little inconsistent in my tracking towards the end of the week. I also had a homemade turkey cheeseburger and baked fries last night for dinner, so that could put me up. We'll see I guess. Yesterday at work, our director bought the largest milk chocolate bar with nuts in it I've ever seen for the whole library to share. I had a piece of it. That's one thing I didn't track. Grrrrr. I tend to get lax on tracking the day before weigh-in, I need to stop doing that. I'm going for tacos with a friend today and then tonight, hubby and I are going to see "Coco" for free in the park. We'll bring some snacks and some alcohol (I'll bring wine spritzers for me). It will be fun.

    Hello everyone!!

@TrishasTime, we do have theaters here that have awesome reclining chairs and really good food and drinks that you order right from your seat and then they bring it to you. My kind of movie watching!! How was Mama Mia? I really want to see it but who knows if I will. I say I want to see a ton of movies and we never go. :/

@trooworld, I have not heard of the Healthy Wage challenge and just looked it up. Are you betting real money? Girl, that is brave and awesome!! B) My husband tells me that there is an amount of cash waiting for me when I hit goal. Now that I can almost fit into most of my clothes in my closet I've been thinking about this loot waiting for me. :) Coco is another movie that I really wanted to see and didn't. Tell us how you liked it?

@theslightedgeforever, I'm sure your days will get better!! <3

Well, it's been a super busy day for me today! I had a morning meeting at the church that lasted until 1:30 pm with our children's director and the teachers for our children's church called Canopy Kids. Then we had a meeting for our Wednesday night kid thing called Awana. I'm going to be the secretary for Awana and don't know what the heck I'm supposed to be doing but we have this training day thing on Aug. 11th so I hope to find out then because we kick it off on the 15th. I also teach upper elementary Sunday school and have my new school year starting next week and haven't even thought about it yet. Yikes!! On a good-for-me note, I am super happy that I didn't touch one yummy donut or cinnamon roll that our children's director brought for us. She was however super sweet and brought me a container of cut-up cantaloupe. Best cantaloupe I've had all year too!!

After the meeting, hubby and I went out and about. Went to Hobby Lobby! <3<3<3 and got some things for me to make an Awana bulletin board and then we went to Lowes and bought a new plant for my front porch because last week a deer thought my petunias looked like a late night snack instead of someone property!! :/

I'm off now to make some kind of ground turkey veggie pasta dinner creation that I'm making up on the fly! Take care!! <3

    Hey everyone!!

Thank you so much for all your support I really appreciate it and it truly made me feel better. I’ve been MIA for a bit just trying to center myself and focus on getting back into my routine.

I brought all the snack foods from my house into my shop for the staff to have so it wouldn’t tempt me at home lol.

I hope you’re all having a great weekend so far!

    Morning everyone

Mama Mia was as expected a movie with lots of cheesy abba songs. I would say it was not what I expected though in the storyline - but I enjoyed it :)

@trooworld - I am the opposite, super strict on the day before and nothing on the day after weigh in. I too must reign that in

@chelltrell - Good move taking those snacks away from you .

@mjsunshine16 - Secret day - does that mean the family did not know you where home doing things for yourself ? Everyone needs me time. Yes - I put a second vote for you to post the receipe please

@teresaw2010 - You sound very very busy, did you make any time for you in your day? Nice person to bring something for you instead of cakes - very supportive.

Hello to @theslightedgeforever and tulsalo - hope all is well with you both

Hi everyone, I am a Mum of 2 toddlers and hopefully in the last leg of achieving my weight loss goal. I have been reading all the threads on this group for about a week and it’s so wonderful too see members offer such awesome support and motivation...I am from mumbai, India where we don’t have weight watchers and so getting support when you are on a weight loss journey is hardly available and is very tough
I was hoping to be part of this group, so I could achieve being a “hottie at forty” by September
Would appreciate if I could be added into this group which is truly inspiring
I try workout 5 days a week at the gym and have the weekend as my cheat days which is not so good, also can’t seem to give up my end-of-the day glass of wine which is detrimental to me achieving my goals of losing 7 kgs in the next few weeks
Hope to hear from you guys soon

@TeresaW1020 Yes, I am. I did it once before and failed miserably but this time, I have a whole different attitude and a PLAN! Last time, I don't think I had a plan lol. That is awesome that your hubby has a stash of loot waiting for you. How are you going to spend it??? I'll tell you about Coco below. How nice that the children's director brought you cantaloupe, that was very thoughtful! You must live out in the country for deer to wander onto your property and snack on your petunias. I miss the country. I live in the city now. I hope your dinner turned out good.

@ChelleTrell That was a great idea to get the snack foods out of the house, let those people at work enjoy them! Enjoy your Sunday.

@TrishasTime I'm glad you enjoyed it.

@krupalip Welcome, and congrats on your success so far! That's too bad that WW isn't in India. That's great that you workout 5 days a week. Have you ever thought of having a wine spritzer instead of a glass of wine? That's what I do: it's 3 oz of diet soda (or seltzer water/carbonated water) + 3 oz of wine = spritzer. It's a lot fewer calories and still is relaxing to drink. I'm glad you found us. At my job, we have a lot of students from India. I would like to visit India someday.

Hello all! I didn't end up going for tacos with my friend, we went to this other restaurant and I had a seared ahi tuna BLT sandwich on a brioche bun with potato chips. Not exactly healthy but it was delicious. :/ My husband and I went to the park to see Coco and I loved it. It is now in my top 10 Disney movies. I loved the story, and how colorful it was and I love Dia de Los Muertos/Day of the Dead, and that plays a part in the movie so of course, it was right up my alley. I didn't do well with snacks: peanut M&Ms and cheesy caramel corn + 2 beers. No bueno. But I did have fun. I'm meal prepping today:
    • Chicken Tinga Tacos in the Instant Pot + Plantains
    • Italian Orzo Tuna Salad
    • Instant Pot Soy Sauce Chicken Bowls
    • Skillet Chipotle Chicken + Mexican Black Beans
    • Summer Minestrone with Turkey Meatballs

If anyone wants any of those recipes, let me know, I'll give the links. Have a great day!!!

    Per request. Pulled pork tacos:

    1 pork loin
1 24 oz bottle of Mojo criollo marinade

Crockpot on low for 8 hours.

It allows me to a lot of food out of this so I can get creative outside of tacos I’ve added it to black beans rice and anything else your heart desires.

trooworld Hoping weigh in was a good one for you. I was up with mine but back on track. That Healthywage sounds brutal. I'm too much of a pessimist.

TeresaW1020 Dh once promised me a trip to Hawaii if I hit my goal. Evidently, stuff like that doesn't motivate me. I think it has to do with intrinsic versus extrinsic. In my childhood, I was bribed to keep my room clean for one month and I would get a new comforter and curtains. I did and after the month was over and I got the new stuff, I went back to my messy habits. Maybe that has something to do with my motivation. who knows? For now, I'm just working on my habits. Woohoo for you not touching the donuts or cinnamon rolls.

ChelleTrell We all need our focus time. I just took mine. I have a hard time getting started again after my focus time so I have to come up with a solution for that. How to find the balance.....

Trishastime I've seen recliners in theaters (Personally I don't care for them, yes weird, I know) but I've never seen food other than the popcorn and candy. Maybe that's all I see when I order though. lol

@krupalip Welcome to the group. I missed the "hottie at forty", the fab at 50, and now I'm working on my "sexy at 60". lol I'll either make it one day or die trying. I increase my calories 2 out of 3 days on the weekend. I give myself 200-300 more calories on those days. It works when I stick to the plan the other days of the week. Maybe every other day on the wine until you find your balance. I'm one of those that doesn't give up anything while trying to lose weight/eat healthier. I'm more of a reduce portion sizes or reduce number of days in a week that I eat/drink it.

    mjsunshine thanks for the recipe

I've done nothing but relax. Nothing. I'm ready to rejoin the world again. But I really only wanted one day of isolation. Instead I took two. So next time...... It's just hard to get restarted.

@krupalip, welcome! I'm new to this group too and have felt very welcomed so just jump in like I did. :) It is a bummer that you don't have WW in India but you have MFP and can count those calories!! I'm doing WW but I'm also counting my calories and so far this week I'm already down and feeling great! So you can have your wine if it fits into your daily calorie count. Weekends can be the hardest that is for sure!

@trooworld, I will spend that cash on clothes and shoes!! I LOVE clothes! We don't live in the country but it's not a big city either. Our neighborhood backs up to some wooded area and the deer live in there...and like to walk up our sidewalks and evidently eat pretty flowers. :/ Your meal plan sounds wonderful. Tell me more about that skillet chipotle chicken and Mexican black beans. I love all things spicy!!

@mjsunshine16, I have never heard of Mojo Criollo marinade and just looked it up. That sounds yummy! I love garlic. For sure will put it on my shopping list. I love making pork loin in my crockpot.

@theslightedgeforever, well I hear you about motivation. Hubby has dangled this huge amount of cash in front of me for 13 years if I get to goal weight. I think the problem is that the man doesn't deny me anything now!! :D Seriously, the motivation for weight loss has to be something inside me and for me. I feel that I'm finally closer than I have ever been to gaining real control.

I've had good day so far! Weight was down this morning which made me super happy! Church was amazing this morning too because our student pastor gave us the message and that boy (only 23 years old) is beyond his years and so incredibly gifted at speaking. I told him he can't get his own church before our pastor retires because I would miss our pastor!! :D I'm off to workout and watch some General Hosptial, which is my guilty pleasure. <3

Hey everyone, thank you for the warm welcome and kind words... really appreciate it
@trooworld, will take you up on the wine spritzer idea sounds great and please visit India, it’s a great place
@teresa had a a very indulgent weekend, headed to the gym now to wash away my sins hahahahhaha
@theslightedgeforever sexy at 60 is quite amazing, you are such an inspiration for me, I would have probably given up much earlier, your drive and determination is awesome

Also I am not good at calorie counting, I am much to dependant on the weighing scale which is not the right method. I am here to learn and have decided to log all my food and drinks starting today

Ladies have a great Monday hope no one is struck by Monday morning blues

Hope to stick to my diet and workout sessions this week, personal goal is to break the barrier of 54 kgs by Friday
