Wow great thread and so many amazing transformations! I think these progress, success, pages are one of the best areas to hang out in on the forum. So much great inspiration and motivation.
Just goes to show age doesn't matter!
I'm 45 years old. Started out on Feb 2nd 2018 at 274 lbs. Today I am 183 lbs. 91 lbs lost so far. I'm not quite where I want to be yet but I'm getting there.

The first photo was 4 years ago, at 37. The second was today, at 41...
I was with a group of 20-somethings. When we walked up the headland, I had time to post smug statuses to two different websites while I waited at the top for the second person to catch up Discovering that I can be the fittest person in a group - and that’s a group that includes runners - has blown my mind completely.37 -

Way to rock it!12 -
I started January 11th, 2017 at 43 years old and 260 lbs and by September 15, 2017 I reached 159.8 lbs. Just over 100 lbs. loss in 8 months and 4 days. I just changed what and how much I ate and I got in the gym. From September of 2017 until July 31st, 2018 (10 months) I have been in maintenance averaging 159 to 165. On July 31st I decided to jump back on the losing train! So right now, I am 44 (soon to be 45 years old). As of this morning I weigh 158.2.

I posted on this thread back in 2017. Three years on I am still being fit in my 40's and trying lots of new things. Since 2017 I kept weightlifting, spent a lot of time being average on aerial hoop, becoming obsessed with handbalancing and and currently learning how to hula hoop and do german wheel.
I am probably not that inspiring as I am overweight at the moment and really need to shift 10kg but I don't let that -or my age - stop me from doing challenging and different things. It does take me a little longer to pick up skills in comparison to people in their 20's or early thirties but i don't let that stop me as i know if i am consistent I will get there eventually.

I'm in my late 40's. Not sure why anyone would think it's impossible to be fit in your 40's.
I imagine it might be harder to get fit if you are just starting out in your 40's. I already had a fitness foundation that I built in my late thirties, so all I've had to do is maintain. (And maybe work at smaller goals like run pace or weight training, etc.) For me, maintaining isn't any harder now than it was ten years ago. It feels very much the same, TBH. It might even be a bit easier, since I seem to have more discipline as I age.
I don't actually know if it's hard to start from scratch at this age, but I imagine it could be, depending on what you're starting with. I think the older you are when starting your fitness journey, the more challenges you'll likely face, but that doesn't make it impossible, or even unlikely. So get started right now - don't wait! Set your mind to it and get after it!
