With chicken sausage, a low country boil is not that bad if you don't load up on the potatoes.1 -

It's the full fat sausage and potatoes that can add in up in a low country boil, which is one of my favorites. I don't eat mammals so I use either chicken (preferred) or turkey sausage and it is lower in calories.1 -

That is very true! The turkey/Chicken would save a lot! We usually have some on hand, actually. And yes, the potatoes add up rather quickly. Along with butter. We do put lemons in ours, so more flavor, less calories, so I can use less butter. BUT what's the fun in that? *runs to go see if our sausage is turkey or not*
Now if calories & portions didn't matter.....

Sounds pretty dang good this morning!

I have been craving a grilled cheese sandwich.... I am talking about the basic no frills grilled cheese, white bread and plastic cheese (a.k.a American Kraft Singles).
Two slices of white bread: 190 calories, 1g of fat, 148.5mg of sodium
Three slices of American 2% Milk Slices: 210 calories, 15g of fat, 810mg of sodium.
*Gosh darn it* you MFP!

... and a Whole Foods Chicken, Spinach, Feta sausage. Each link is two servings, that would mean one link is about 300 calories.1

Ummm, you forgot to butter the bread
But yeah, grilled cheese was a sad day the first time I logged it. Two seconds to eat it, like a heavenly 500 calorie snack I still sneak one in every once in a blue moon with a bit less cheese than I'd really like.3 -

I haven't eaten a grilled cheese sandwich in forever (the last time I had one was in a restaurant that had nothing else vegetarian on the menu, they were even out of lettuce for salads due to a recall) but now it sounds really good. Gosh darn it you MFP posters!2 -

Pic from last time I had it... I’m obsessed!
I keep scrolling past this, and I keep ogling that Naan bread. I could seriously just make a meal of warm fresh naan. Bonus points if cheese or garlic are involved.8 -

I literally always want cupcakes or any type of cake. Too bad it’s pretty impossible to fit those things into my calories regularly😢3

My sister who is several years older than me used to make Velveeta grilled cheese and chocolate milk for me. Not as comforting but okay in its own way.

@SunStarMoon47 , if you make your own homemade, cut back the sugar, use skim milk, and egg whites it is only about 150 calories per serving and still good.

There is a grilled cheese festival coming up in a couple of months here in Indy. Grilled cheeses of all kinds and booze to go with it.1 -
