I think a patient woman who knows and is comfortable with her body could show you that one.2 -

Everyone talking without knowledge of the diet should really read book and then have an informative opinion.. there is a reason why I lost 22 lbs following the system and there is a reason why there are thousands of success stories out there ..
Oh, we know why you lost 22 pounds. You ate fewer calories than you burned. Voila! Weight loss!
Any diet that puts you in a calorie deficit will work. Don't need "the system".
I'm not telling you to get in it, everyone is entitled to do what work for them.. just telling you that if you haven't read it or have any knowledge about it beside reading a 5 minutes outline .. then stop judging a book by it cover .. you have know clue how I lost the weight and you have no clue how it works .. is not just about having a calories deficit..
Look, if you are happy doing this diet then hooray for you. Really.
But a calorie deficit is the only way you lose weight. So, yeah, I do know how you lost weight and I do know how it works. I don't have to read the book to know that the claims posted upthread are absurd.
Congratulations7 -
You need to post this in the new "woo" thread: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10582385/worst-woo-you-ever-heard-advertised-regarding-losing-weight#latest It should take first prize.[/quote]

I'm sure you feel it's helping you, I just worry about this claim about only sleeping 2 hours a day. It takes longer than that to get to REM sleep and that's one of the most important parts of sleep. Also, the 15 minute female orgasm? That mainly relies mostly on the woman's body being stimulated, and I don't even know if a 15 minute orgasm is healthy. I worry that in a few months you're going to crash, especially if you're cutting out a lot of healthy foods 6 days a week and then bingeing on heaven knows what on the 7th. No one should be so desperate to lose weight that they put their health at risk. This guy who wrote the book did something that apparently worked for him. But you're not him, your body and genetics are totally different, and you can't apply what he did and think you'll get the same results. There's red flags all over this, so please be careful. You don't know what this approach will do to your long term health. If you want to do a keto based diet, do one that isn't promising the earth.
This is not something that only worked for him or for me. His book have been the NY times best seller, he been on Dr Oz. There are thousands of people that had experienced the same success.. there is science behind it.. but I'm done trying to explain it to people.. they just have to read the entire thing and do some research .. then they can have a better opinion.11 -

You lost 22 pounds because you were in a calorie deficit. But the promises that are posted in the adverts don't say that, they are making impossible claims.
And no I haven't read the book because I don't need to. I have lost 23 pounds in six months by eating what I like and keeping to my set calorie deficit. Why would I pay for a book when I can do the same thing as have for free.
It is not that I am deriding you personally for buying the book you feel it worked for you and that is fine. It is the hype that sells the book. There are people out there that will pay to "Gain 34 pounds of muscle in 28 days" and that is impossible so they are being conned out of their hard earned money for nothing but Woo.
That is the issue and that is not OK.

There's actual science saying you can gain 34 lbs of muscle in a month with 4 hours of training while losing weight? Can you give me a link to the peer reviewed scientific research please? Very interested in seeing that.5

Listen man I'm done talking about it.. just read the book and maybe you will understand how the thing work.. or if you are really interested about it do some Indeed research on the 4 hour body...8 -

So you had experimented with this and you already know that it's ok impossible to lose weight on it? Do you even know how this system work and what it entails?
Everyone can do whatever work for them.. but I see people here with very strong opinions about his system without even knowing much about it than just a few Google searches

I understand your frustration with us but you haven't actually told us anything about what you actually did to lose the weight. Why don't you share some of this with us we really would be interested. But you can't expect us all to buy the book when we think it is a sham.3

Based on the outlandish claims (physiologically impossible even), I'm not wasting my money on the book.
I would also be interested in hearing about the changes you've made.7 -

Certainly it's possible to lose weight with this system, it's possible to lose weight with any system where you eat fewer calories than you expend. I'm looking at the list of benefits this program advertises - I don't need to read the book to know some are physically impossible, and others are just a little...odd.

I postes this forum with the intention that anyone else who follow this program or actually knew something about it could follow each other's and offer one another support.. instead everyone here is attacking just because someone follow a different method than their. It doesn't matter what method people follow as long as it works for them and it's not a health hazard to them. And people need to respect that.
The 4 hour body system is not just about weight lost. It have many different areas about personal wellness. The area follow from the book is the one related to weight lost. And that system is just basically the same as any other low carbs programs out there like the keto, South Beach , Atkins, etc. What's is difference about the 4 hours is that is focus on the maximum effect dosage. What I mean by that? If looks at the most effective weight to lose day and to gain muscles.. example someone can go to the gym and do 45 minutes on a treadmill to try to shred some weight, but is that the most effective way? No.. you can do 10 minutes of kettle bells swing and have the same or better effect. As far as eating.. this program exclude cheese , you can eat beans, green vegetables, and meat.. but what I like most is that you are allow to fall of the wagon and have a cheat day once a week.. you need to confuse your body cell so that you don't reach a plastous.. there is way more to this than just what I'm trying to explain .. and the reason why I'm telling people to read the book or do more research is not because I want people to change system or to advertise the 4 hours body but it is cuz I believe that before people have so strong opinions they need to know what they are taking about it.. At the end of the day it works for me and that's all it matter11 -

No one is attacking you its simply being pointed out the program literally promises impossible things. Not sure why you want to let the blame fall on the program for the hard work YOU did. Somehow you came into a caloric deficit and that works for you. Cool. Good. However im super curious about every other part it "promises" You have only spoke of weight loss, And from what im seeing the program offers alot more. Thats why its a program. So im honestly curious why your so for it if your not seeing all the impossible things it promises happening- because...you know...impossible. please touch on this program and its effects on its other promises, From your experience5 -
Sometimes following a set program can be helpful, especially if you're new to diet/fitness.
I encourage you to hang around the forum and read lots of threads on various topics. You may realise that most of what the book mentions is unnecessary, and a lot of it is a load of bunk. The people questioning you are applying their understanding of diet and fitness accumulated over time and through their own trial and error.
Question everything you know, including what you believe in... It really is the only way to learn and develop your knowledge.6 -

This program makes things like apple cider vinegar, detoxes, raspberry ketones and homeopathy look absolutely sane and reasonable by comparison.
Anybody who actually believes that you can put on 34 pounds of muscle in 28 days is skipping on fluffy white clouds in fantasyland. It doesn’t matter how many hours you spend in the gym, how elite your genetics are, or how many anabolic steroids you’re taking, that ain’t happening. Not for anybody, anytime, ever. And nobody is tripling testosterone without a needle and a vial.
It’s like Tim Ferriss decided to see how much BS and woo he could stir up in a pot, jam into a book and still have people buy it. The fact that it was promoted on the Dr. Oz show is just icing on the woo cake.5 -

the thing is many people have already researched claims like these from other diets, books, etc. many of them who have done this research have backgrounds in science, physiology, molecular science and so on. so they know how the body works and what is and isnt impossibile. and yes on any diet you can have a cheat day as long as it doesnt wipe out your deficit the rest of the week. its very hard to gain muscle in a deficit of calories and it also takes time to build in a surplus of calories because your body can only do so much at a time and building muscle means it has to be broken down and it has to heal and grow to become bigger. that takes time.To grow aprreciable amounts of muscle it takes a surplus of calories and again its not going to be fast like the book claims ,its scientifically impossible even probably with steroids. Dr oz has also been proven a quack. hes a heart surgeon at best. he has been asked by the FDA and the US senate to stop pushing the claims he makes and prmoting fad diets.
believing dr oz is like getting diet info from a podiatrist. no one is attacking you or anyone else. kettle bell swings arent as wonderful as it used to be promoted as. before it used to be a big rage. you dont hear much about it anymore. as for confusing your body, your body works a certain way, you cant confuse it by eating different or working out differently. thats an old myth. reaching a plateau is normal because weight fluctuates often. a plateau(which is defined as 6-8 weeks with no loss of weight or could be gain for those trying to gain). is normal and happens but for those who hit one and cant lose for the time frame above or longer it usually is because they are eating more than they think. many are eating maintenance calories as dont realize it. I have had that experience before and once I started using a food scale I started losing again.
also not getting enough sleep can be disastorous in more ways than one and it can be hazardous to your health. since your body burns fat mainly at rest and repairs to your muscles happen at rest if you arent giving your body enough time to rest you are asking for injuries and illness as well.7 -

Hi, I'm basically just starting out myself but from every reputable source I've seen, you should stay faaar away from anything that promises you to be completely "done" and at the best possible goal you could dream of in such a short time, it's a scam. Nothing short of illegal drugs can get you something like that.
