I’m in—loving this challenge. My original goal was 125.0 lbs—definitely within reach this round
Keys to my success:
—Pick a calorie goal and stick to it. My range for weight loss is 1200-1350 cals. I’m older and smaller so those calories work for me. I don’t eat back exercise calories.
—Careful tracking. My kitchen scale sits on my countertop and is put to good use. Food from home is easy to track but eating out can be a bit tricky so I do my best to estimate. It helps knowing what a portion size looks like.
—If I know I’m going to be in a situation where I might be indulging I make sure I eat a bit light earlier in the day.
—Be prepared—meal planning is key. Having food prepped ahead of time is also helpful. Several times a week I cook up some chicken breasts. Sometimes they are used in a wrap, sometimes a salad.
—Deprivation is not fun so I make room for some little treats. Keeps me sane. A sugar free popsicle is 15 calories, a small piece of Laffy Taffy is 30 calories. Not the most nutritious choices but they are a very small part of my diet.
—IF works for me not because of any sort of magical fat burning qualities but because it allows me to have a couple of satisfying 500-600 calorie meals. I’m losing weight but still enjoying cheeseburgers (on a pretzel bun, no less). I’m making them at home using a lean (93/7) ground beef. The slice of pepper jack cheese makes up for the flavor lost from the fat in the ground beef.
—I hit the gym 3 to 4 times a week and weight train. I add a bit of cardio for heart health (12 minutes of HIIT with the heavy ropes). I do stretching and foam rolling at home on the other days.13 -

Stats = 5'4 female, age 48
Highest Weight = 172 lbs
Initial Goal Weight = 139 lbs (last weighed this is 2013)
Ultimate Goal Weight = 129 lbs (last weighed this in 2011)
Round 50 Goal: to be out of the 150's and into the 140's
Exercise Plan = The Betty Rocker 90 Day Challenge (in weeks 5-6 of 12), run outside 3-4 times a week, get 8,000-10,000 steps/day
Nutrition Plan = Continue to limit gluten, dairy, sugar, diet soda, alcohol & eat non-processed foods, protein/fruit/veg at every meal, complex carbs at breakfast and post workout meal, drink plenty of water.
8/16 = 151.2 (no change from yesterday) Yesterday was a rest day in my 90 day challenge, so I just went for a short run. I ate okay but still low on my calories, I need to get to the grocery store and do some meal prep! I'm missing my daughter, who is still away, but I'm very proud of myself that I have been able to enjoy this alone time and not worry about her like I was afraid I would. It helps that I'm getting daily pictures of her doing fun things and she has a happy, relaxed smile in each one. Today, I've got my day 28 workout to do & I want to get in a short run as well and then lots of house cleaning & laundry to do. I wish everyone a great start to round 50, this is a great challenge to be a part of! "What you do today, can improve all your tomorrows."

8/16 - 156 - Wow, after all my whining last round, my weight suddenly seems to be moving in the right direction. I have a feeling this won't stick, but it sure is nice to see this number. I haven't seen this weight since 2001.
@jaccimc63 Make it stick! Try not to get lost in the daily ups and downs; that's just water movement. If you're below your start weight by the end of the round, you've won.10 -

@pamelasilv How does the challenge work? Weigh yourself each day and post in this challenge thread. Many of us comment on how the day prior to weigh in went for us. We also ask questions if we're looking for answers or post comments to others' posts (like I'm doing with yours.)
Welcome and jump right in.7 -

About me: 61, 5'7", in maintenance since March this year. Serial loser and regainer of 20 and determined not to slide back up this time.
Round 49 report = Start = 126.4 * Ave = 127.4 * Min = 125.6 * Max = 129.2 < and that was scary.
Round 50 GOAL = Maintain weight edging back down from the high part of my zone by getting workouts back in the mix.
8/16 - 127.0 - Yesterday under maintenance calories, clear enough after work to run; so I settled for am introductory 2 miles, then discovered I had the wrong key and ran 1.5 more.10 -
